    Fargo

Brandon Brunner is out of Chattanooga. I agree that it is a little disappointing to see such a small group make the trip to Fargo. We should however be proud that these guys are there to represent our state and are doing a good job of it from what I here. They also have the oppourtunity to experience a great tournament against elite competition. I will never forget having the chance to compete at Fargo and wish more guys would take advantage of the oppourtunity.

Thanks for the update ghouse! Keep them coming as they are greatly appreciated. And lets go Tate! It would be cool to see Tennessee's first Freestyle and Greco national champions come out of the same school, though I am a little biased.
  3. Congratulations to Nick! That is a huge accomplishment
  4. I'd be a little intimmidated if I had to wrestle John Smith lol
  5. "I missed something the first go around so let me back up a minute,,,,Hooker is a beast,,,but he still has to get by Hayes who is also a beast,,,this will be the match to watch in that weight class, and the winner of this match wins the state! CC" Correction, the winner of that match gets to wrestle Alex Johnson for a chance to win the state
  6. Most definately threw at by the looks of it... and if one uses a questionable (illeagal) tactic enough that he is known for it. Action should be taken to stop it. Great wrestler, bad move.
  7. anyone have any results or team scores? all i've heard is that cbhs has 7 in the finals
  8. can someone please post a link to the brackets?
  9. If they are not going to be then thats a shame, i enjoy watching some of their guys. I was just basing my assumption about their presence on the list give of teams given on the first page
  10. Say what you want about the field ironman, the Ryan invitational is still one of the most competitve indy tournaments in the state. I understand that Mccallie has a deeper field but how can you say that the there is a lack of competition at a tournament when it has already been pointed out that 3 of the top 5 teams in the state are going to be there? Not to mention that there will be studs there who arent on top ranked teams (i.e. Jeremy Miller) that add depth because it is an INDIVIDUAL tournament. Also, I'm not sure that I would be ready to crown Ryan just yet. I see things being very competitive amonst the top three here.
  11. Congrats to CBHS. Looks like they had a great showing. Sorry i missed it

  15. I know you said this isn't what you want to hear, but, when all else fails, you have to make the best with what you have. If you can't practice with anyone else, watch as much wrestling as you can. When you're at tournaments, talk to wrestlers and coaches from other schools, and absorbe as much knowledge about the sport as you can. You may even look into odering clinical dvds on techniques that you want to improve upon, and then applying those techniques in your wrestling room. I find that the best way to learn new moves and techniques is through learning them from others, and then mastering them on your own.

Who, if anyone, is going to be representing tennessee at Fargo this year?
  17. congrats to nick and jordan on their second AA honors
  18. I think its healthier that tssaa manages weights during the season. People do cut before they certify, but they have 2 months to get the weight off in a healthy way... not that they do because not to offend anyone but most high school kids are not that disciplined. I really don't think they could manage it any other way.
