  1. Where did they start this morning? What will be the starting weight for the finals?
  2. I think this is really great but be careful how you use the results. The first wrestler that I looked at has two losses in a city that he didn't travel to due to injury.

  4. Stbulldog, your posts are well thought out and and I agree with most of them. However, I am not speaking of students who don't play because it is "hard" but I will leave that aside for the moment. How would you explain the low team morale as it relates to the coaching issues / daddyball issues? I don't believe that every player needs to "like" their coach but I do believe they have to have buy in. Even the best players that have been on Ryan's team the last few years and have great attitudes are effected by this issue. I don't believe that a football team has to be at the top all of the time. But what I do believe in is integrity at every level of coaching and doing what is best for the team overall -especially at Ryan.
  5. Ryan has allowed the head coach to hire assistants, and one is now on the academic staff, and that is where the current daddyball / team morale / talented football players not being on the roster problems are rooted. I'm not saying anything on the board that isn't being said on the street but I may get run out of town for saying it!
  6. I can't speak for much before Lussier's time as coach and am not trying to point a finger at him specifically. And certainly his previous team / school / parents hated to lose him. IMHO Ryan probably couldn't compete well with the upper teams in their league this year, but I do know there are several more quality football players at the school than are listed on the roster. Not saying it is anybody's fault. I believe there to be several dynamics in the mix.
  7. Unfortunately, a good deal of the Irish feel it will be a long season as well. Ryan has some very talented players on their team this year but the game starts and ends based on coaching in many different respects. Ryan loses a lot of players with many years of experience and success after their 9th or 10th grade years and not because they are playing at a different level in high school. There are several talented players walking the halls of Ryan who are giving their hearts to sports other than football that could make a large impact on the team. They too think it is insane to do the same old thing and expect different results and don't want to waste their time. It is a sad situation for everyone involved.
  8. Cory Norcross 215 champ, Ryan also worked with Tony previously.
  9. You might also consider contacting Tony Rowland in Nolensville. He has a small practice facility at his home and works with guys from several different schools, some of which have recently been state champs.
  10. I don't think wrestling advocate was choosing either the adult or child side. Just pointing out the inequties in what is expected between the two teams... However, it seems that you and others do not think that apologies go both ways or that parents should be held responsible for their children if they are children that are with your team. So what is your school moto and code of conduct .." We will not hold our children responsible for nor apologize for their actions because they are children and we are not a Christian school and they allowed to act like heathens at their own descretion because they are children?". Not exactly my point of view because I have been a supporter of your program for years, however, it is how your post comes across.

    Rankings

The DII brackets are on the tssaa website.
  12. Congrats Cameron! You deserve it /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. Thanks ghouse, but I was referring to how I made my picks not how the seeding is done.
  14. Indeed he did, however, I believe that most recent head to head carries the most weight...
  15. 135 Austell 171 Wesley vs Floyd 215 Norcross vs Mackey. Norcross majored Brasher 9-0 in the state duals
  16. Then ... obviously you aren't from Baylor.
  17. Thanks ghouse. You are much appreciated for all you do /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. Will Brasher wrestle at 215 considering the close match with Norcross? Who else from BA is currently ranked above the Irish?
  19. How does the outcome of the Father Ryan / Brentwood Academy match tonight affect the seeding and probably match ups at the State DII Duals?
  20. Will this match be broadcast on the web?
  21. I don't believe that any of the BA wrestlers that are ranked over the Father Ryan wrestlers will wrestle on the 20th in the same weight class they are ranked.
  22. As a tournament observer there are a couple of more things I want to say that haven't been said here or have been lost in the rest of the thread. My apologies if I am repeating someone else's post. Want to lay out additional observances if not.... There was much more seating this year than in the past. As a result of using only 4 mats the bleachers were fully extended. I am guessing that the earlier start time made this possible. The "roping off" issue. The only "roping off" that I saw was about 12 foot on each side of the head table that extended in front of the entrance, to wards the bleachers, on BOTH sides of the gym. It appeared to be in order to keep spectators entering the gym headed toward the bleachers and off the mats, again on BOTH sides. There was no section "roped" off for FR fans and other team fans were sitting among the FR crowd. Overheard a Brentwood High parent complimenting a FR fan (well after "the spectacle") and expressing his joy at attending the tournament every year because their fans are committed to the sport. I'm sure there were comments going the other direction as well but I was not privy to any of those or I would lay them out here as well. In the past FR has always presented trophys above standard, paid for by a FR parent committed to the sport and with no children at FR either in the past or in the future. This year was the same, however, all of the trophy's were found to be damaged during shipment when opened (They were all glass). This parent went to a local trophy shop and convinced them to spend all night Friday night to create trophys to be handed out on Saturday, again at his expense. This was discussed at the coaches meeting so it isn't like I am privy to "special" information at the hands of FR fans. Wrestling is a great sport. Emotions run high and that is part of it. We all love the sport because of the character it builds and the commitment it takes to succeed. If the wrestlers and fans weren't committed and intense in their feelings what would be the point? The wrestlers would never step on the mat, much less ever win, because their heart wasn't in it and the fans wouldn't care either. The mamas and daddys could then watch their little boys and girls in tutus in a more warm and fuzzy environment.
  23. gonavy2..... You are correct in that Cash and Simpson will both do what they want and what is best for their teams and wrestlers. However, what one's perception of "right" is may differ from another. It's wrestling season.. let the boys wrestle. Don't dodge and don't play games. To be "The Man" you must be "The Man" and act like a man all the time.... It's not a one shot deal... Let's tune in on the 20th and see what happens.
  24. Last year Coach Cash didn't wrestle the younger Cash against Marchetti. It will be interesting to see if any of the BA wrestlers that finished well in the tourney will step on the mat against Ryan on the 20th opting instead to protect ranking. There were alot of disappointed spectactors outside of the BA and Ryan communities last year and that would hate to see that happen again.
  25. Let us not forget the potential weight changes after Christmas. It's going to be interesting and fun to watch! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
