Again, congrats to the players, coaches and fans of the Devils for an outstanding season. I said 7-3 and with a little luck 8-2. Next August after watching spring practice and summer workouts, I'll have another prediction.

In your third paragraph you have already dished Coach Julian and next year's team. Your comment, "if this continues next year it will be a very long year." The Devils win this game LATE by one point. They go for two and the win with very little time remaining AND THEY MAKE IT.

I read about this team and that team gaining 200+ yards rushing. I hear about this player or that player gaining 100+ yards rushing. The same thing can be said about a team/player that passes for XXX yards. There is only one stat that measures winning and loosing. POINTS SCORED BY YOUR TEAM VS. POINTS SCORED BY THE OTHER TEAM. Looking at how many yards someone has is not a factor in determining the winner of an athletic contest. JUST WIN BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Git over it! We won this week and now we down to Choo-Choo town to kick some Red Bank butt. We will rectify what we didn't do in '05. And that is WIN!

In my opinion there is no way Buck Coatney will leave his alma mater and go to Gibbs. Good luck to Coach Carroll in whatever he does. Is he retiring from teaching also? I had his wife when I attended Halls and she was great, still is in my opinion. Guess he and Coach Poston will get to do a lot more fishing now.

The Devils will roll out the red carpet for the Cleveland team and fans. Then we will kick there butts back down to cleveland. Home game in week 11 at the Crossroads - priceless!

Everybody don't get a passing grade in the classroom UNLESS they earn it. If a player stays on the team for 3-4 years and has not played enough to merit a letter, then his senior year he should be awarded a letter.

My thoughts are this: 1) they just played last week, 2) they are in the same region, 3) money gate for the TSSAA. This is not right. No team that makes the playoffs should play the same team in the first round that they played in week 10, unless it was a nonregion game in week 10. Why in the name of heaven would you pair up two teams from the same region in the first round of the playoffs? I have heard that the TSSAA changed the playoffs 7-8 years ago to cut down on travel, i.e. to make more money for there pockets. Why does the TSSAA get 50% of the gate? What does that money go towards?

A friend in Nashville told me of a situation that is messed up in my opinion. He said there were two teams that played this past Friday night and because of the 2A bracket those same two teams play again this week. Is that true? I don't know the names of the two teams.

IF I am remembering correctly the higher seeded team from the same region will be the home regardless of who the TSSAA predetermines in there brackett setup.

Well, well, well here we sit at #2 in the playoffs (from our region) and the Cats are going to come to our game and watch us win. My home times have changed. Yes I said back in the summer that I thought the Devils could go 7-3. Now I'm telling you this...Not to many years ago Halls went to Cleveland for a playoff game and beat them. I can't remember the exact year but Halls better be ready to play and I think they will. GO DEVILS!

How about this situation: Every time a PAT/FG is attempted there is only one (1) striped shirt on the line. How can that person see holding on the other side of the ball?

Does anyone hae a real clue how much GQ makes at Maryville? Now I'm not talking about the free garbage service and the free food for the family. I'm talking money paid by the Maryville school system for teaching, a.d.and coaching. I heard thru the grapevine it wa almost 90 G's. I don't think BA is as academic oriented as one would imply.

After reading the comments by Hoover High School football coach about the greatest run in football history I wonder if he has ever heard of Maryville High School?
