  1. I was reading the TSSAA info on playoffs and saw where 2A had 9 regions instead of the normal 8. After more reading about how there 32 team bracket would be assembled, I wondered how many teams would be left out with a decent record (7-3, 6-4). I do remember in years gone by there were boels games that were played the day before the playoffs started (I think). My question is this ....DO THEY STILL HAVE BOWL GAMES FOR TEAMS THAT DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE PLAYOFFS? Thanks for any info
  2. Proud of the Red Devils for their effort. Dowdy proved he can play. Great young man from a fine, fine family. I think his dad played at Maryville a long time ago. Kitts keeps amazing me with his running ability. Dayton is...well Dayton. Always there helping and leading his team. Get back up for the SD game. I picked 6-4 early this year, but said with a little luck could be 7-3. This win Friday puts us where...7-3! GIT "R DUN
  3. I know nuttin' about BGA, I just know WEBB wins games they are supposed to loose. RIGHT PANTHERS!
  4. FBEmeritus, If the last time Halls beat Maryville was in 2000, was that also the last region lost for Maryville. I'm trying to remember if that is true and I can't remember you all loosing any other region games since then. MAYBE THE CHANGE WILL HAPPEN THIS YEAR!
  5. Thoughts and prayers to the Chris Pickett family. In a time like this, a football game really seems insignificant to me.
  6. Maryville is the Brentwood Academy of East Tennessee, BUT THEY DON'T GET CAUGHT......YET
  7. fairplay2121, Isn't TJ Brock the former player that made the counterfeit money scandle a few years back. If I'm right he didn't leave to go to Sweatwater he got kicked out of Maryville high school. Then the very next thing didn't the Maryville principle get fired for stealing money?
  8. Big time rumor mill - One of the Kenwood players arrested in Clarksville this week? I hope thi sturns out to be a rumor that someone just fabricated.
  9. sneakypete, I think your right about 2 of 3 and some help gets us a home game in the playoffs. What happens if we only win 1? I think we are still in, but not sure. WE WIN ALL 3, NUMERO UNO!
  10. LC can't beat us witha good #2 pencil and eraser. Halls by 40+... on second thought save some of those points, we might need them next week.
  11. oldcoachg, You would send a kid home and not let hiim play football because his parent(s) are complete idiots. I disagree with you if that is your opinion. Don't blame the kid, blame there dumbazz parents!
  12. Well I might have to put the streak for another time. How about this, if we beat Maryville I will sashay down the middle of the field wearing only my tennis shoes and a smile. At the 50 I will pause to give the Rebels an elephant smile! We have LC this week, name the score. Next week Maryville, read above. Last week SD - be careful not to over look. 7-3 if we do what we are 'posed to do.
  13. Well the two different types of felines will "get it on" this week. dLook for the 'Cats to flush the Panthers down the toilet. Roll up your sleeves and get ready to swim in the sewer Panthers.
  14. With all of Maryville's success, why have they not had a good college QB? McCray went to a Carolina school then to East Ky but never started at either school I don't think. Thompson went to South Carolina then to UTM and I think he is a back there. From the look of things, Burnett could be the next in line. Qb's today better be able to scramble and he can't outrun the OL on his team.
  15. Poston or Polston you know who I mean, the baseball coach (never was much good at speling). He had a nickname some years back but for the life of me I can't remember it.
  16. I heard this game is tonight. Does anyone now if that is correct? I did not see today's paper>
  17. Hey can anyone get in the pressbox or do you have to have media credentials (sp?)? Someone told me the food in the Halls pressbox and said if you can get in there you could stuff your face full. Hope I get in before Coach Poston does. LOL!
  18. Didn't Cleveland win 45-50 in a row back in the mid or late 90's?
  19. sneakypete, That is the funniest thing I have ever heard. I only wish I had been there to see it! Doesn't it take a long time for the lights to come on? The game had to be delayed, wasn't it. Was it a Halls streaker or a Clinton streaker? If the fireworks were coordinated then I would guess it was a Halls fan. What did they do when they caught the person? Maybe it could be a redo this Friday!
  20. sneakypete, You got me on the '99 incident. I don't have the slightest clue who you are talking about. Give me some more details, 'cause during that time I was not living in K'town (just moved back in '01). Thanks
  21. Devils by 21 over the Panthers. Kitts 175+. Roll up your sleeves Coach and get ready to get bushwhacked back into the creek. Then we will show you the way back to the loser's side of 75. If we don't win this one I will streak down the middle of the field next week against Lenoir City after the bands finish playing.
  22. Central does it. Farragut used to. Anderson Co. does it. I don't mind paying to park on campus, I just hope we come ready to play and kick some Panther butt Friday. If you thought the West crowd was intense, WAIT TILL THIS WEEK. I think HTV might be right on the past few years of the Emory Rd. matchup.
  23. ironman, I don't not think you can be listed as a moron when you pick games with you heart and not your head. I respected my coaches and always will. It just burns my guts to see coaches get the blame when things don't go the way some fans and/or parents think they should go. Coaches call the plays and the players are supposed to execute them. If a player doesn't execute a play correctly is it the coaches fault? NO , it's the players fault or the guy lined up on the other side is a heck of a lot better. I thin Halls will win the rest of there games and go until the second/third round of the playoffs! If they don't does that make me a moron? I don't think so. It just means that I have faith ion the coaches and players and hope with my heart they can accomplish what I think/hope/pray they will.
  24. hey MORONICUS, I know exactly what the Clinton game means. I know what next week means and the next and so on. Either you start coaching or get off the coaches backs - better yet why don't you schedule a visit with the staff and let them know how you feel and what you think they ought to do in order to win. Get some 'nads and go stand face to face with our coaches and let 'em know how you feel, big boi.
  25. IMAZEBRA, I, for one, appreciate your honest and candid response. However, I have some additional questions, and I would again appreciate your response. Do high school officials ever get / have the opportunity to view films of the games they have worked? There are some calls made during the game that are exactly right and on the money, BUT there are some that are absolutely horrible. Are officials held accountable for there calls? If I remember correctly, a few years ago (maybe 10 by now) some officials were dropped or demoted because of poor calls. Now granted this probably took place in the college scene but are high school officials ever judged on there performance and have they been banned from officiating because of poor performance? Thank you again for your time...
