  1. These are two very sad stories. It would be nice if they could some how punish those that stepped over the stabbed victim. As for the group involved in the gang rape, I think that the death penalty wouldn't even be half as harsh as to what they really deserve. Some times I wish that we were a third world country just so that we could really "Punish" people that do stuff like this.
  2. I am no where close to being a lib. I have been a republician all of my life and have voted that way for everything except for when Bill Clinton ran for President. I have a firm stance on all of my beliefs, but I know that no matter who is in the White House, nothing will ever "really" be done about gay marriage, abortion, and etc.... Thats why I felt it was a safe bet to vote Clinton. The economy in our area was 30 times better (IMO) when he was in office and I hope it will return that way if the Clintons get back into the White House. Considering nothing will ever really get accomplished with all of those other major issues, I just want to make sure that I vote for some one that is going to make it easiest for me to support my family and have a good economy for when my children are grown. That my only reason for voting Clinton.

  4. Actually I am a republician. I just don't really like any of them this time. The statement that I made about Thompson was to just to get all of you politicians fired up. You have to admit, the economy was pretty good when Bill was in the White House, if it takes putting his wife in there to get him back I think that wouldn't be so bad. Someone said something about Major Issues. Nothing will ever happen with major issues. They will tell you where they stand but will never really do anything about it. Thats why it doesn't really matter who is in there, as long as the economy is doing well. What major issues has Thompson ever touched on during his really long senate run? He was just on cruise control, he never did anything. Just like everyone else. If all of you were from California, would Thompson still be your man? Or do you just look at him as a hometown hero? It wouldn't matter if it was my brother, if I didn't think he could get the job done, he wouldn't have my vote. No need to get too fired up and personal? How do you figure I am trying to appear neutral? Thats a goofy statement when you know who has my vote.
  5. Look at the political forum to cast your vote in the 2008 presidential election. Post your thoughts on the topic as well. Lets see where all the CoachT'ers stand. Go on over and vote.
  6. FRED THOMPSON An Associated Press review of taped conversations from the Nixon White House gives a behind-the-scenes look at Fred Thompson's role during Watergate. When the former Senator from Tennessee was appointed minority counsel for the hearings, President Nixon was disappointed and considered him not very bright. But Nixon grew to like him better as he worked cooperatively with the White House and accepted coaching from the president's lawyer. During the trial, Thompson became famous for asking former White House aide Alexander Butterfield whether he was aware of listening devices in the Oval Office. Butterfield's confirmation set off events that led to Nixon's resignation 13 months later. The question made Thompson appear a nonpartisan truth seeker. What rarely is mentioned is that Thompson knew the answer to the question before he asked it. Investigators for the committee had gotten the information three days earlier. And Thompson had called Nixon's lawyer to tip off the White House. In a book he wrote about his participation in Watergate, Thompson described himself as a Nixon administration loyalist who struggled with his role as minority counsel. He wrote that he tried to "walk a fine line between a good-faith pursuit of the investigation and a good-faith attempt to insure balance and fairness." Connection w/ Lewis Libby In 2006 he served on the advisory board of the legal defense fund for I. Lewis ("Scooter") Libby, Jr, who was indicted and later convicted of lying to federal investigators during their investigation of the Plame affair. Thompson, who had never met Libby before volunteering for the advisory board, was convinced Libby was innocent. The Scooter Libby Legal Defense Fund Trust set out to raise more than $5 million to help finance the legal defense of Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff.Thompson even hosted a fundraiser for the Libby defense fund at his home in McLean, Virginia. After Bush commuted Libby's sentence Thompson released a statement: "I am very happy for Scooter Libby," Thompson said. "I know that this is a great relief to him, his wife and children. This will allow a good American, who has done a lot for his country, to resume his life."
  7. In terms of public perception of her views, in a Gallup poll conducted during May 2005, 54% of respondents considered Senator Clinton a liberal, 30% considered her a moderate, and 9% considered her a conservative. In 2004, the National Journal's study of roll-call votes assigned Clinton a rating of 30 in the political spectrum, relative to the current Senate, with a rating of 1 being most liberal and a rating of 100 being most conservative. The 2006 Almanac of American Politics rated her, with most liberal = 100, most conservative = 0, according to a three-dimensional spectrum: Economic = 63, Social = 82, Foreign = 58. Average = 68. Another analysis by three political scientists found her as likely being the sixth-to-eighth-most liberal Senator.[163] Hillary Clinton received an "A" on the Drum Major Institute's 2005 Congressional Scorecard on middle-class issues.
  8. Since there is alot of debate going on we might as well have our very own CoachT Presidential Poll. The '08 election could be a very close election. The upcoming election is already something special. First election without incumbents since 1928. When a United States President leaves office, his Vice President is more often than not considered a leading candidate and likely nominee to succeed him. 2008 will mark the first time since the 1928 election in which there is neither an incumbent president nor an incumbent vice-president running for his party's presidential nomination and thus not running in the presidential election. Unless Cheney or Al Gore decides to run this will be a historical election. Cast your vote now and find out who CoachT fans think should be president. **If you have something to say or debate please do it here. If you want to add why or why not you will be voting or not voting for someone do it here. Try not to post anything that doesn't pretain to the election or doesn't really make a point. Let the election begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. I would like to see a man from TN get in the White House, but I don't think that it will ever happen. Especially not after the news release of the story that said the Nixon administration considered him an ally during the Watergate investigation.... Just another crook. Doesn't matter which politician gets in the White House. They are all the same.
  10. Best of luck to LA in getting ready for a new season!!!
  11. I would not have the nerve to make that statement if I was Michael Gilpatrick. Everyone involved in the situation knows what really happened. Sounds to me like he knows he made a fool of himself and is trying to cover his rear. Coach Melton was told that "He would NOT be hired back as the basketball coach". And to beat it all they did it over the phone while he was on vacation. Its sad.
  12. Its great to see that the community got behind their Coach and supported him in getting what was his in the first place. Its hard to believe that stuff like this happens, but it does. Its hard to say that those select few want what is best for the kids when they try to get rid of a coach like this one.
  13. With summer camps just around the corner, I figured now would be a good time to talk about the outlook for next season. What are some of the camps that some of the district teams will be going to this summer. Keep us posted on how everything goes for all the 7AA teams this summer. What teams and what players are looking good and working hard?
  14. LA can win this one, but they will have to play better than they did against BTW. I thought that game was a little sloppy. LA wins this one by 12.
  15. LA by 3 in OT....../smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  16. Leave it to you to say something like that.... Whoever wins the last one is all that matters...
  17. Thats not a bad idea.... But I don't think it will ever happen...
  18. There isn't much else we can say about Coach Carr. She resigned, when out on top of her game. Congrats and good luck in what ever you do in the future. The school is losing a great coach. But that is her decision. Am I going crazy or has all of BballJunky's posts disappeared? Maybe the shame is starting to set in...?
  19. "and if you buy that, I'll throw the Golden Gate in free...." Good try, where did the post go?
  20. Yup, great game it was. Ferris gave the lady wildcats all they could handle, I wonder if they will still say "she is no Parker" in next weeks newspaper. This girl will be amazing to watch the next 3 years. Looks like the Lady Wildcats will carry that HOG-EYE tradition to the next level once again.
  21. Alright Sir, you are starting to give other Rickman fans a bad reputation. You may not care if people know that your a donkey (what else can you call a donkey), but that doesn't mean you have to represent our school and community like that. On the "Allons Basketball Coach" thread I think someone is trying to say you are one of the parents from our school. That may not be true, but I guess they have reason to think that based on the comments made at the ball game, and then they see you make very similar comments on here, it really does make you look like that same guy. The whole thing would have died down if you had not of gotten on here and made the same comments that have already been made. You have shown how ignorant and disrespectful you are and you have shown that you care very little about the kids that play this game and that will someday be playing TOGETHER (if they make the highschool team). So, my friend, I ask you to show more class in the future when representing people other than yourself.
  22. Although that might be the very same guy, we don't know that it is. What if the guy you are accusing isn't him? What if it isn't even a guy? If thats the case then you could be giving the guy you think it is an even worse reputation than he has already earned. I understand that what was said was wrong, but thats no reason to accuse other people of something you are not 100% sure about. Thats kinda like getting down to there level. IMO. Good research though.
