There is going to be an adjustment period for everyone involved, players, headcoach, assts., and fans. With that being said, if the assistants are such bad coaches, you(deltafarce) should go offer to be a volunteer asst. I am sure they would love to have you expertise. With hard work and patience, all will work itself out in Dresden. Good luck to them and all the coaches and fans. It is a tough year, but even tougher for some players that have already played their last game for the Lions because of injury.

I never said it was a bad win. I just thought it was implied(my mistake I guess) that it was a big accomplishment to win this game. USJ played well against a depleted team and took home an easy win as they should have, just as happened the last two years for Dresden. I did not mean to diminish their win. The second half scores were against all freshmen and sophmores also. I was just trying to give the other side of a lopsided score. Dresden is going through a variety of problems that has taken them from a good team to a team just trying to survive until the offseason. They were going to be thin and to lose the numbers they have is devestating to a program that is limited on athletes anyway. It is ashamed for the seniors and the coaching staff to have to fight such an uphill battle, but it will turn back around one day. My best wishes go to both teams, it was a clean game with little or no injuries that I know of. Unfortunately for Dresden the most physical teams are still to play.

I don't see how this was such a big win. It should have been expected. Dresden lost a good class last year and are down 9 projected starters from what they had in the spring. USJ did what they should have, won easily against 6 or 7 freshmen and sophmore starters. These youngesters will grow up one day though. It was a clean game with out any injuries that I recall. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year, they will both need it in region 8-2A.

Dyer Co. scored 3 times after the lightning and Dresden scored 1 time before on an interception return.

They already have a better QB in the Evans kid. Replacing the other seniors they had will be the problem and to Lion4ever, you might be a little upset if your own child is intentionally injured. Good luck to Coach Rogers and Coach Knott. There is a lot of hard work ahead.

Some of the best teams in West TN will be in the Coca-cola classic on June 11 and 12 which is played at Westview, Dresden, and Sharon Jr. high. You could probably call the Westview or Dresden coach for info.

Westside is from Memphis, I gurantee they have played quick teams, athletic teams, big teams, they have seen it all. That does not mean they will win but CSAS will not show them something they have not seen in talent before.

Who won the game between Lake and Bradford last night.

West Carroll cancelled and Dresden went to Dyer Co. and played.

They played Dresden 5 times counting the jamboree and the christmas tournament. They beat Dresden 2x. I believe they were 1-1 v. Medina going into their tournament. They also play each other on sat. in the milan/medina invitational tournament.

Rutherford is very big 6-2, 5-10 with quick guards. They play man half court and press 1-2-1-1

Dresden was down about 8 going into the fourth and it looked like they ran out of gas. Lake countys pressure wore them down and Tyler took over in the fourth when it looked like it could be a close game.

Is D-burg in this district now. If they are, I expect them to win it. I also look for Westview to be pretty good. I think that Coach Haskins will do a good job there.

South Fulton The only teams I have seen this summer that can be competitive with Union City are Humboldt, Lake County, and Middleton in single A. I have not seen many of the East Tennessee teams though. I don't think that any at the state last year could play with them with the exception of Temple and they graduated some of their best talent.

I heard that Dresden had two brothers move in from MS. One is 6'7" and the other is 6'5" that play in the line. Will these two be playing this Friday or held out until next week. I also heard they play basketball.

I agree, too many charges. It was overall one of the best tournaments though. The only game I would consider an upset was MLK over Haywood. The others, I thought all of the better teams won. There was more overall talent there this year than in the past two or three and the crowds were bigger.
