  1. Did this match get changed? I thought it was Clarksville, Rossview and Northwest. Either way, it is going to be some great wrestling tonight!!!
  2. John Gannon has ref'd many of our matches at Rossview over the years, and I have never seen him purposely call a match unfairly against one of our kids. I don't think he is biased against Rossview at all. The Heavyweight match could've went either way. Mr. Gannon is a professional, and has always treated our kids fairly. I was at Harpeth, and I am just wondering what team wasn't as good as the results say, Knuckles? Would that be Ravenwood, Rossview, BA? Harpeth?? I thought Ravenwood looked very good, and BA looked good for a young team. Harpeth has some pretty strong wrestlers, and Rossview has been working very hard in the off season.
  3. Or maybe the big boys have gained?? I guess we'll see soon where everyone will fall for Rossview....
  4. One of the reasons that our kids at Rossview do folkstyle in the off season is because they can coach themselves. They already have a knowledge base of what they're doing, and they don't need their coach as much as if they were doing freestyle and greco. And since the TSSAA prohibits them from working with their coach, it kind of ties their hands. They did work this summer at Clarksville High with a CHS grad who came back to help out to learn those styles, as did kids from Dickson and other places around Clarksville. So, hopefully, all their work in folkstyle will pay off for them this season. Wish we could've done more fs and greco this summer, but if they don't know what they are doing and don't have a coach to show them, then it is tough to convince them to go to tournaments.
  5. Wow! I better go get on the housing list for next year! Ft Campbell is one of the only schools around here that is finding scholarships for their athletes for college.
  6. D1 brackets say White over Ofori by DQ. What's the story on this one??
  7. I meant that Sauers had lost to Bates and Todd. I didn't know about Waters. Sorry for the perceived misinformation. 215 should be a good bracket to watch this year.
  8. Bates has beat both Waters and Todd once and lost to both of them at least once. Sauers (MCHS) has lost to both of those wrestlers, plus lost to Bates sometime during the season at a different point.
  9. Fill in the blanks if you can... 103-Antioch 112 Neblett- Mont. Central 119 Morrison- Clk NW over Wilson Central 125- Wilson Central over Smyrna 130- Antioch over Cozine- Clk NW 135-Price- Mont. Central 140-Perry Mont. Central 145- 152-Williams- Clk NW 160- Lynch- Clk NW over Smith Rossview 171- Smyrna over Antioch 189- Mustin- Lincoln Co. over Antioch 215-Todd-Rossview over Bellfus-siegel Hwt- Baird- Wilson Central over W. Morrison-Clk NW
  10. I don't know if you watched this match, but Rossview's 215 was winning 8-2 when the match was called, with about a minute left in the 3rd period. 4 of his points came from penalty points, but the other 4 were earned points. True, anything could have happened in that minute, but more than likely, White would've gotten himself disqualified with a THIRD headbutt. Todd may not be the same calibur wrestler, but he is working hard.
  11. Are Croy and Jaekel wrestling 189 or 215? The post above said there was a "surprise" pin at 189, and then next it says Croy teched Jaekel. So did they not wrestle 189?
  12. I don't post on this forum, but I do read it often. I have been keeping up with this thread and was concerened so I emailed the TSSAA and I got a response from Ronnie Carter. I said I was concerned about my child missing 3 days of school for this tournament, vs. missing 2 days last year. I was also concerned because I would have to miss 3 days of work to go to the tournament, which I wouldn't miss for anything (if he makes it this year!) This is the response that I got... We agree with your concerns. However, there are a few facts and options. We do not have other options if we want to bring 32 in each class in DI and 16 in DII. There are not a lot of places where you can put down 8 mats. We can change the format, but do not see that as the best decision. It is a rare situation and caused by the fact that we are guests of UTC and they have tried, unsuccessfully, to move the games from Saturday. We are cooperating with them and will recommend to the Board on Nov. 13 that we go to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for this year. The principal of your school should forward a request to not do that if you feel this way. Just remember that the reality is that we would have to change to a different format for this year. Ronnie Carter So, you have to weigh the pro's and con's of complaining.... Getting the dates changed back may cause them to have to change the format from a 32 man bracket in D1, which could leave some kids (including mine!) out of the tournament. Doesn't look like the venue will be changed. Just thought I would share this....
