I don't post on this forum, but I do read it often. I have been keeping up with this thread and was concerened so I emailed the TSSAA and I got a response from Ronnie Carter. I said I was concerned about my child missing 3 days of school for this tournament, vs. missing 2 days last year. I was also concerned because I would have to miss 3 days of work to go to the tournament, which I wouldn't miss for anything (if he makes it this year!)
This is the response that I got...
We agree with your concerns. However, there are a few facts and options. We do not have other options if we want to bring 32 in each class in DI and 16 in DII. There are not a lot of places where you can put down 8 mats. We can change the format, but do not see that as the best decision.
It is a rare situation and caused by the fact that we are guests of UTC and they have tried, unsuccessfully, to move the games from Saturday. We are cooperating with them and will recommend to the Board on Nov. 13 that we go to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for this year. The principal of your school should forward a request to not do that if you feel this way. Just remember that the reality is that we would have to change to a different format for this year.

So, you have to weigh the pro's and con's of complaining.... Getting the dates changed back may cause them to have to change the format from a 32 man bracket in D1, which could leave some kids (including mine!) out of the tournament. Doesn't look like the venue will be changed.
Just thought I would share this....
