After last year most of the comments from the Bruin fans were that we enjoyed the band. They seemed like they were having fun and we recognized the songs they were playing. Can't always do that with some other unnamed band that may have also been playing at the same game . . . hmm.

Uh . . . anyone out there? I know the Bruins were off and just got back into town so I don't know how Hillsboro did. Just stop the rain! Good grief I hate what rain does to a good tailgate.

Last year I might have argued with a few of these but this year - knowing the poll is 120% correct - I'm not wasting my time. Good job.

You didn't address this question to me . . . but here goes: I'm not sure what you mean by top rated but a very average Ravenwood beat Brentwood Academy last year. Independence just beat MBA. Didn't Whitehaven just throttle CBHS in your neck of the woods? Oakland had every opportunity to take out Ensworth but came up just a little short. Smyrna is a good team and should represent 6A well. I agree, I think they are playing good ball but not as good as I know they can. We have to step it up this week Brentwood is a good program. Wilco has had our number over the past few years maybe we can put an end to that friday night.. GO GREEN WAVE!!! First, Lets talk about the important things: 1. Where should the Bruin Nation set up the tailgate? and..... whats on the menu for this week? 2. It was nice to see our offense score in the 1st quarter for the 1st time this year! 3. It will be nice to go to an away/out of district game in a county other than Rutherford! Go Bruins! Yeah, let's see if we can take our A-game on the road. I just hope our tailgating isn't peaking too early in the season. And looking forward to the game as well. Go Bruins!

Congrats to HHS. A couple of questions: I know this is a HHS thread and not a HHS vs. Ravenwood thread but has anyone heard anything about the R'wood QB who went down late? I hate to see anyone go down but especially a senior. Haven't seen HHS play at all and only saw the second half last night but what was the deal with the onside kick after they scored? It didn't hurt them but at the time . . . I was really wondering about that call. Good luck to both teams the rest of the year except one game remaining on their schedule!!

Once again, officials missed an Xtra pt because it was kicked too hard and fast. ----------------- Can you explain how this happens - and especially "Once again"? I didn't see the kick at the game but on the replay Davis immediately puts his hands up signalling "good" and looks bewildered that they called it no good. Are the officials not paying attention or what? Again, Davis' reaction is all that I saw and then with your comment I just had to ask what's the deal.

What people may not understand is that Brentwood scored a TD with 19 seconds left vs. Lavergne when all they had to do was down the ball to run out the clock. Nice sportsmanship there Brentwood. Truth is they are really only 1 TD better than Lavergne, so they may also have trouble vs. Smyrna. ================================================================ I'm assuming you are a Lavergne fan and I wanted to say that you should be proud of that team! They played hard for 4 quarters and had us scared for sure. The QB especially I wanted to compliment - did he ever leave the field? - for his outstanding effort. You may think that was a lack of sportsmanship but I would take it as a sign of respect. I know there wasn't much time left but Lavergne scored all of their points on "big plays" and you were only one of those away from tying it. Also, its not like Brentwood was throwing or running reverses, it was pretty much running between the tackles. Good luck this season.

Here are the other WilCo 6A non-district schedules. Do you still think FHS has the toughest? I'm not saying you are wrong because I have no idea how strong the out of state teams are. RHS probably has the weakest of the four but they all look tough to me. Does anyone have the results from last weekends state tournament? Is there a link? The aau website is a joke for finding results (2005-2006 are the last results posted) unless I'm just not seeing it. Thanks.

If they meet again, does that mean that they will both automatically move on to the next round? If so, let's hope for round 4. On another note, the Bruins played with tremendous heart last night. Franklin appeared to have the momentum as it went into overtime but Teichman's three at the beginning of OT was HUGE!

I agree. Their record was way better than their talent. I only saw them twice, but I didn't see one team this year that played harder than those guys.

You may be right about beating Franklin 3 times in a row, but please enlighten us as to how Brentwood was "fortunate" to win the first two.

Just curious how the Franklin - Overton game played out last night. By now BriceDrew and/or Harrick have given us a game summary. After seeing (from the box score) how Overton handled Hillsboro and now hangs with Franklin - what's going on with those guys?

Great question: Indy sweeps Brentwood who sweeps Franklin who sweeps Indy. Anyone know the tiebreaker? Still two games to go though so it may work out in the end.

Just a guess but it may have something to do with the size of their gates against the larger schools. The additional $ could be used to help fund other sports. Again - totally a guess.

I recognize all the teams except the Memphis Select and the Murfreesboro Stars. Did they have teams last year? Also, are the Stallions still the team to beat or can someone knock them off?
