  1. Katie Green is now at ETSU.
  2. I thought this thread was about CAK/Loudon. It seems as though mustcoach and transam use this as competition as to who has the most club players on a team. Mustcoach, does your daughter know that you are advising her opponents? As the parent of a high school player, I would never in any way want my daughter or coach to think I didn't support her team 100%. It seems that you two are trying to score your own "brownie points" for whatever reason with other teams. You two must be coaches and possibly have players on these other teams.
  3. Why would you dispute if you weren't there? At this point the prepxtra ranks teams according to wins/losses. Lenoir City is 5th in their district. At this point it doesn't mean a thing(way too early in the season). If PrepXtra has misinformation it is because coaches haven't turned in all of their stats. Let's give credit where credit is due. Congrats to Webb and to Grace Milner for her 3 goals!
  4. McMinn County 3 McMinn Central 1
  5. Were you at the game? My wife was. Grace Milner scored all 3 goals and two were unassisted. Check out prepxtra.com. They too have Grace Milner with all 3 goals. The Knoxville News Sentinel has her with all 3 goals. What are you up to mustcoach?
  6. Intrigued by the talk of the Bearden/CAK game on CoachT, I decided to see the game. The two teams played fairly even for awhile. Bearden had too many offensive weapons for CAK. Bearden's defense was steady and the keeper for Bearden made some fine saves. CAK had some good shots but Bearden did outshoot CAK said the Knoxville News Sentinel. The paper also called Bearden's shots "soft". They looked anything but soft to me.(That's a little insulting to the CAK keeper) Once Bearden took the lead, the game never seemed in jeopardy. Apparently this was Bearden's second game in 24 hours in this heat. Bearden seemed to be better conditioned, had better balance all over the field, and much more depth.
  7. Where will Bearden play CAK and what time is the game? Who do you think will win this one?
  8. I think I read somewhere that Oak Ridge beat CAK 4-3 in a scrimmage. Any details??

    What happened to these girls?
  10. Ashley Reveiz, Beth Aaser, Sam Turner, Kat Nigro, Gretchen Johnson, and Caroline Ginaselli(spelling). I am not sure of the schools they are attending(possibly Bearden, Farragut, and maybe Karns)

You said it first. "Rankings are for nothing more than entertainment value" I wonder what type of squad those college teams put on the field(walk-ons, freshmen, etc...) I wonder what they would think if they knew you were running your mouth all over CoachT. I bet they would clear it up real quick. I do not know what the status is with the Impact team. But you said it yourself. They didn't repeat as champions. That told me that they at least won once at Division 1. I'd keep quiet until your team does at least that. You speak of the Impact recruited players. I am sure you didn't "RETOOL" without recruiting. I am now off and out of this subject!
  12. Are we talking about players on a B team that has an A team that has never even played Division 1 making an impact on Knoxville soccer with the likes of Farragut, Bearden, Webb, and CAK? I am still laughing!

I believe the 92 Impact had a good showing at the Division 1 Regional tournament in Oklahoma City. The website says they went 1-1-1. They played against alot of tough competition. They also came in as Premier League champions. I agree that the Central is not as strong as the East but they had to go out and win it. You say the KFC team is up and coming. Was that the Division 2 regional tournament they attended? Doesn't that mean that none of the teams they played were Division 1 in their states? Just curious....Does the KFC team regularly play the Impact team since the 2 are in the same city? If so, who usually wins and what was the margin of victory the last time they played? Why has it taken so long for the KFC team to go Division 1?

All 3 schools have excellent academic reputations. Bearden soccer would seem to have a definite edge with coaching. Eric Turner seems to be able to get the most out of his teams. Bearden girls are defending state champions. All 3 schools have had their successes in recent years. To the best of my knowledge, Bearden is the only one with a girls state championship.
  16. Yes, I heard it from a TN soccer state representative.
  17. I found out today that the State Champion and Finalist go to the Premier League next year.
  18. US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League The US Youth Soccer Region III Premier League provides an opportunity for the most competitive teams in Region III to play each other on a scheduled basis. The league will be comprised of boys and girls in the age groups of U-14 through U-18. Each National State Association (NSA) decides what will be the criteria for selecting teams to be considered for inclusion in the upcoming Premier League season. Typically the prior years PL champion in an age group, the state cup finalist(s) or the champion of an instate league are potential candidates. Each NSA is invited to present at least two (2) teams in each age group/gender. Games are scheduled in the fall or the spring, depending on local customs in a sub-region or state. This is on the Premier League website and I believe Tennessee follows this criteria.
  19. That is true unless the Premier League Champion is from your state and age group, then the State Champion and defending Premier League Champion go.
  20. I don't believe East Ridge will qualify for the Premier League. I believe it will be TNFC as the defending Premier League Champion and Strikers as the State Champion.
  21. Tom Webster's award was for the best high school player in TN for the 2007 season. The award recognizes athletic achievement, academic performance, and overall character. He finished the season with about 18 goals.
  22. Gatorade Player of the Year went to Tom Webster of Bearden. This award is given to the best soccer player in the state for the 2007 season. Is Mr. Soccer a separate award?
  23. Surely this state championship game won't be defined by the immature antics of Ben Backstrom. These were two teams that dedicated their seasons to a teammate lost tragically(Bearden) and coach's daughter and team friend lost tragically(Farragut). Both had super seasons and were by far the 2 best teams in the state. On Saturday Farragut was the better team. Both teams should be proud of themselves, their fans, and their coaches. You both have soccer programs and an intense rivalry that are envied by many. You played a game that will be remembered by all that attended. Congratulations to Farragut for the win and to Bearden for a great game. Both will be back I am sure.
