  1. Thanks fballfan. Your team made the plays when they counted. Very hard fought game on both sides. #9 for yall played one heck of a game. I am very proud of our team for not giving up and fighting til the end. What hurt more than the loss was that one of our kids was so distraught over the loss. He is one of the best kids on the team and has an absolutely TERRIBLE home life. But this kid is always smiling even with all of that (his nickname is Smiley). He was nearly inconsolable after the game. It was one of those situations that just rips your heart out. Good luck to Lawrence County next week vs. Mitchell. TRIPLE COVER KIEWON MALONE!!!!
  2. How about you get all the facts and then get on here? There was an Arlington student trying to fight our cheerleaders and the players were defending the cheerleaders and themselves when he started swinging. He DID NOT throw his helmet at a fan. He didn't even throw the helmet.....he swung it (bad decision) and it slipped out of his hand and onto the ground. Question the discipline do you? The player that hit the Arlington QB very late is done.....Coach Van Hooks suspended 5 players for the Millington game....suspended another 2 for the Bartlett game. Why do I have to keep asking you to stop slinging mud onto this program? You act like your team makes no mistakes ever and plays perfect football week in and week out. It's people like you that make Millington look bad and make the knowledgeable people on this site tired of reading and just say "screw it.....I'm tired of reading this garbage." I am about to that point. Find something worth while to talk about instead of questioning Van Hooks discipline in his program and continually bringing up incidents - some which you apparently make up - that happened weeks ago. Do the good Millington fans on here a favor and know when to keep your mouth shut.
  3. I also think Hardin takes this one. You never know which Ridgeway team you're gonna get (you could say the same about Craigmont). Maclin is a decent player, but I don't view him as an LSU talent. Combine numbers are all well and good, but play on the field is more important IMO. And he can disappear in games sometimes. Good luck to both teams
  4. Thanks for the pick hick, but I doubt it will be a lopsided score. I think this one will be decided by single digits.

  6. I really hope there are better, more sensible LCHS fans out there. You are completely twisting what I said to make it sound like I said that West TN teams are untouchable and their opponent shouldn't show up. That is not what was said. I simply replied to your statement that LCHS will dominate Craigmont much like Bartlett did. Your response was one of the most absurd posts I have seen on here in quite a while. Good work. And Briarcrest is a very talented DII team. They don't have the firepower of MUS or Christian Brothers, but they are no pushover by any means. They are not 2A.....they are a private school in Division II. BIG difference. And yes.....they probably DO have the depth that LCHS does.
  7. Maybe you should be at practice this week, because it sounds like you've got it all figured out. Wow...that sounds really simple. How come the previous 10 teams that played Arlington didn't figure that out????
  8. You're right.....games arent played on paper or on bulletin boards. But if you think that bulletin board material is all we use to get the kids fired up, then you have obviously never been in a locker room. Bulletin boards are used to add more fire to a team. Be careful how much fire you give this team. Ask Briarcrest what a fired up Craigmont team can do.
  9. Good stuff.....keep the bulletin board material coming.
  10. Ace is right. I was not blaming the Bartlett loss on the weather. I simply stated not playing in a swamp would benefit this team as they can utilize their speed. I even said in another topic that we got a good old fashioned butt whoopin. Anyways..... Glad you are confident in your team. Trick play???? Since when is throwing a deep ball and one of your playmakers taking it the distance a trick play? Someone please inform me of this new "trick play" definition because I must be confused....
  11. fballfan, if youre basing your opinion of Craigmont on the Bartlett game, just throw that out the window. That was one of the worst games - if not THE worst game - I have ever seen this team play. Keep in mind that last year this team almost had a letdown against Central the last game of the year (needed a late TD to win) and rebounded fairly well and played Whitehaven very tough. Only this team is much better than last year's team and I think will come together and play alot better football than they did against Bartlett. Not playing in a swamp for the first time in like 6 weeks can't hurt either.
  12. X 2. This almost made me ROTFLUMLFO. Good stuff
  13. Thanks for the vote of confidence onefortheteam, but I don't see the score being this lopsided. If you are right though, I will buy you a $5 footlong.
  14. Wow.....gettin ahead of yourself aren't you? Anderson County better watch out for that White County team.....
  15. He's seen Millington in person and he's seen film on LCHS. Correct
  16. Millington had a bit of a down year compared to what they normally do, so this year is hard to judge. They didn't have the gamebreaking type of runner like they have had in years past. Last year, Craigmont took Millington to the last few minutes of the game when Millington had the 5A Mr. Football running this offense and running it very well. And this Craigmont defense is better this year than they were last year. Offensively, you never really know what youre gonna get. Could come out in I and pound it, or could come out in the spread and throw it around. We are more of an I team, but can throw the ball as well (as long as the receivers CATCH THE BALL). There are about 4 or 5 RBs that can run the ball effectively, especially our twins. Our receivers are solid and our line has good size. 3 players on the line go both ways, but 2 of those rotate in and out on defense so don't look for them to get very tired. Our LBs have good speed and our secondary is fast as well. We will likely be without 2 defensive starters due to injury, though nothing has been determined yet. Even if we have to play without them, we've got players that can step in and not miss a beat. Should be an exciting game and, as I said before, one of the best games in the state.
  17. You know the drill....not pickin the Craigmont game. Mitchell 26 JNS 17 Melrose 34 Bartlett 13 Hardin County 24 Ridgeway 13 Arlington 31 Indy 14 Whitehaven 27 Gtown 24 Millington 17 Wooddale 14 Brighton 28 Kirby 20 White Station 38 Cordova 14
  18. Let me just give kudos to East TN fans. For the most part, you guys talk about the positive side of the game and stray from the negative. Something that is hard to get around West TN. Anyways.... Hopefully, they will treat every opponent from here on out as their toughest test to date. I agree 1000000%. There is not a single opponent at this point in the season that can be overlooked. Our team overlooked Bartlett last Friday, and it cost them dearly. Went from a probable 3 seed to getting in with a wild card and being the 8 seed. Good luck to both teams, but I think I will go with Tennessee High in this one. I think they have an outstanding team and will be too much for Seymour. BTW, is there anywhere online I can check out this castle? Sounds like a pretty cool place.
  19. Ridiculed you did I? I don't remember ridiculing you. What I recall saying is that you said Millington's "region dominance continues" and we beat you. I then also asked you what game we made zillions of mistakes in and you never answered. And our zillion mistakes is not what cost us the game at Bartlett. We got a good old-fashioned butt whoopin last Friday. If you want to pick Lawrence that is fine. But if you are basing that pick on the Bartlett performance and our "zillion mistakes" I think you will be proven wrong. Lawrence runs the same offense as Millington for the most part and does not run it as effectively as Millington in my opinion. As my memory serves me, we did fairly well against this offense the past couple years. I think this game will be one of the better first round games in the state.
  20. As long as Hardin County's starting QB is playing, I think they win this one. Ridgeway has shown some flashes of playing well, but I think Hardin pulls it out as long as they limit turnovers.
  21. Haha.......Sarah Palin is telling everyone to man up. Good stuff. Aside from that, I agree. Doesn't matter who is put in front of you. Beat em and prove that you deserve to move on.
