  3. Patrick Haskins - QB or WR, Obion County Central Aaron Cary - T/DE, Obion County Central
  4. What you must mean is Lake County and Cape Central (MO.) Cape Central plays at SEMO. As mentioned earlier, Lake County backed out and they (OCC) filled it with Byhalia, MS. Westview is part of their district, so yes this year and next year, they will play on a college field.
  5. Austin Hopper of Obion County Central signed with Tennessee-Martin.
  6. The game was over by halftime. It was only 14-0 then, but the Haywood players had their heads hanging as they walked off the field. They couldn't really move the ball, but when they did, the drive ended in a turnover.
  7. The Brighton/Obion Co game has been moved to 10/30
  8. Closed practices? When did that happen? Sure, the red gate by the high school is closed. However, someone said that the AD Coach Victory closed it to keep players and students from driving over. The back gate has never been closed. Besides, if he wanted to close practice, is that not his choice as the head coach??? As far as coming in and showing stuff, is it not true he has the credentials? Was Rome built in a day? A week? A season? I think its truly amazing that there are 80 guys or so when they only had 40 or 50 the past few seasons! Kids are here at OC....as evidenced by my previous statement. If you think the program could be run a certain way, then put your name in and become a volunteer coach. Right now, there are only five coaches and I am sure they could use some help from someone who has so much knowledge. That's five coaches managing over 80 players.....not to mention that they also have to run those players while they play JV and freshmen football. So, in reality, they are a little short-handed. So, turn your resume into Mr. Powell and see what you can do to help! Coach Jackson appears to have them going in the right direction. I'm sorry if that to you the steps that the team is taking are not big enough (as evidenced by your demeaning comments), but as I said earlier, if you have so much football knowledge to share, send in that resume!
  9. The JV team lost to Obion Co. 20-14. It was 20-6 with 14 seconds left. A hail mary pass against the guys on the deep end of the depth chart made it closer than it was.
  10. And how does UC deal with the no huddle, fast paced offense that OC runs? Just a thought.......

  14. Well, that covers Dyersburg! How about the other teams? Is Dyer County going to be up there or are they one-hit wonders? Which Haywood team will show up? Will Crockett County return or will they fade? Same with Ripley. Is Covington going to recover? And will Obion County move ahead of last year's 0-10 record with a new coach at the helm?
  15. He resigned and is now the OC at South Fulton.
  16. Shawn Jackson at Obion County Central
  17. Good write up with one exception. A coach should provide motivation, but to say that they have to motivate them takes the blame off the kids. The players should be self-motivated to want to win. Why else play the game? Why put in the hours of practice if you don't want to win?
  18. Kidding about what? That Craig Rogers should make the decision or that they are also interviewing an assistant coach for the job?
  19. 90 TD's is quite a feat, however having been at the game where Lone Oak played Obion Central, he played in the game until about four minutes left in the 4th quarter. Final score of the game was 59-6.
  20. Obion Central..............no where to go but up. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  21. Why would they want that responsibility? Its much easier to make the calls from the armchair than on the field!
  22. Don't get started on the whole education aspect of DC, because all anyone else has to do is point to a DHS fan to show it goes both ways......besides, if education and grammar proved football success, Harvard and Yale would be BCS contenders every single year! Also, "at least" is two words, not one. EXAMPLE: Underlined for the obvious mistakes.
  23. Wow...goodluck getting a new coach then. What coach, in his right mind, would want to go to a program where they want to get rid of a coach half way through his first season? If you know so much about coaching, I think its high time you send your resume in!
