  1. I was looking on the website and could not find a roster of the middle school team.
  2. I am afraid the Falcons are going to swoop down and Swipe up those eaglets up, While the eagles can do nothing but watch. Just like the Falcons administration watched the Fulton QB swipe the very camera that they were watching him on a couple of years ago. Fulton 48 Gibbs 14
  3. I don't remember Young on last years middle school team. Did he play last year?
  4. They will have to play one of the Knoxville area teams, in either the 1st or 2nd round. That gives them a slim chance of getting past those two rounds.
  5. Key 3A matchups...... Elizabethton vs CAK CAK vs Alcoa Alcoa vs McMinn Central I have to agree BC, These games will tell us a lot about Elizabethton, CAK, and McMinn Central.
  6. Can the Eagles hang with the Falcons? Not sure how many skill players that the Eagle have. Fulton normally has plenty. Fulton 42 Gibbs 6
  7. Pigeon Forge should take this one by 14 or more. I sure hope those Freshmen and Sophmores improve for Grainer Co. If not it could be another long road next year as well. Hopefully we will have some players move to Grainer Co. or maybe even the 8th grade team might have some players. As of right now I don't see any gamebreakers.
  8. If Gibbs does not win by 30 or more then they are about as good as they have been the last 30 years. That my friends just ain't very good.
  9. Nope don't know nothing bout the game. I did hear about the Halls ordeal, gonna get ugly there. I am glad that Conley has gotten the Eagles on the good side of wins. I do like him as a coach. Looking forward to watching the Pre-Game Extravaganza at Randy Carroll Stadium. Just wondering why did it cost $10 to get into the game? Havin fun, watchin paint dry. I'll see ya'll after the primer coat.
  10. It is sort of like picking up speed each week getting faster and faster, then all the sudden "BAM" hitting the wall. Alcoa, and AE now that is fast and athletic. Alcoa has a much faster, athletic team than AE. Just so you know PLACALL, Alcoa has an even better class of young players. Just ask Maryville, Oak Ridge, Farragut, and a few more big boys.
  11. Looks like rain How will that be on the eagles Offense?
  12. I was wondering, during the Scrimmage with CAK were you allowed to sack the QB from CAK? Did they blow the whistle before he was hit on a sack?
  13. Conley is doing something right. His Eagles have scored more points in 3 games than Carroll's teams scored in a decade.
  14. I havn't heard this much Chatter about Gibbs since Randy Carroll tossed the Marker at that kid. Maybe he can come back for a Re-union.
  15. Thanks, Maybe they will finally start competing with some real teams instead of being the Big "W" on the Homecoming Circuit.
  16. This should be a great game Friday. From the amount of scoring that Gibbs is doing this year they must be putting the ball in the air a lot more. That means they have a much better skill player cubbard than in the past. If they can handle Rams offense, it will be Gibbs all the way, if not then the season will only go down from hear out. The easy schedule they have played has put a lot of points on the board, but playing teams that can't beat most youth teams does not prepare you for the stretch they are about to take on. Grace Super Midgets 32 Gibbs 30
  17. It seems ColumbiaBlueNScarlet "You've Been Blinded By The Light" I would not at all be referring to the Blue lights chasing a few of the players from last years team, nor the few that are still members of this years team.
  18. I was not saying that. Knox County requires all its Head Coaches to be licensed by the state to teach. They can get a waiver, but that hardly ever happends. I know that Graham was on a waiver when he was hired. Every coach has to deal with this kind of stuff. At least the majority do. I was actually explaining to someone that was complaining.
  19. Most teams cancel Freshman games when teams get into the playoffs. Sometimes that is going to happen, where a team has to cancel a game. I promise that Alcoa would not be the least bit scared of AE. Your glasses seemed to be covered in Columbia Blue and Red.
  20. I will answer that with an old favorite of mine, by the one and only Johnny Cash. "He'll go Down, Down, Down, with that burning ring of fire"
  21. AE had one of the best Freshman classes ever last year, but Alcoa has had several of those. I think this years Alcoa Freshman class might be one of the best and most athletic teams ever to come through Alcoa. Alcoa by 30. Plus Alcoa out coaches the RoadRunners by 90 points, but the Alcoa staff has much more class than that and decides not play the athletes, but puts in Two kids with Down's, two of the managers, all the waterboys, three cheerleaders, the tuba player and three flag girls from the band.
  22. Carter has done pretty good, yes I know that the region they played in was not that of region 2-3A. They played in Region 3-4A for many years against Maryville, Knox West, Powell, Halls, Clinton, and always played Fulton as well. They were the smallest 4A team in Tn. Yet some how still managed to get into the playoffs. When they finally got to play against teams that were more in there enrollment they did pretty good. It was a much weaker region than Region 2-3A from top to bottom, but just like every other 3A team in Tn they lost to the state Champions almost every year. First year it was Fulton, second year Livingston Academy, next year Fulton. They did lose to Anderson Co last year, but it was close. Anderson Co. Had a close game with Catholic. Several years ago Carter had a kid that started QB for Catholic, 2 Lineman that started for Fulton, 3 players- QB, WR, LB that started for Knox Central, a kid that started for Knox West, and 2 at AE. All these kids were zoned for Carter. All but the 2 kids for AE lived 2 miles East from Carter High School. I never heard any complaints from them about that. I have thought for years that Carters Coach did a pretty good job with the loss of players that should have been playing at Carter. Anyone can coach from the stands, but not everyone can get a degree, lic to teach, and coach High School football, deal with some idiot parents, deal with some idiot kids, manage coaches and players, raise money to keep his program going, work on the field, work on equipment, not to mention his family obligations. Oh yeah I almost forgot, Make really hard decisions to let a player go that he knows he really needs to win, but has to keep his other 75 kids from following in the kids footsteps toward a life of who knows what. And did I mention him sometimes having to put those kids with idiot parents ahead of his own kids and family.
  23. You are so brilliant that you don't even understand that you made it personal long ago. When you constantly question everything, and yell and that your own son gets embarrassed making him feel as if he is having to ease the tensions between the coaches and yourself. I really hate it for your son. I hear the parents whispering during the game, "if the dad would shut up then maybe the son could keep his head in the game". You have a real opportunity to help your own son, but if you constantly yell and act the way you do then I guess he will be average. Taking a young man out of his game, especially your own son, is not being much of a father. I would understand if you got onto your son for lack of effort, not blocking, going half speed, or just something you feel he should work on doing better, but its never that its always questioning the call. I sit there and look and think one day he will understand he is embarrassing his family, son, and the community, but then I realize, no he wont. He cares only about himself. By the way I'm sure that 60 hour sales job is just filling your pockets. Everyone else has a Heckler that Heckles the opposing coaching staff and team. Carter has qb'sdad that Heckles his own son, His sons teammates, and His sons coaching staff. I guess he'll start on the cheerleaders, and masot next week.
  24. Just so you know there were 34 seconds to go in the half. AE had three timouts left. If you take a knee each time you might run maybe 5 seconds off each time. Which gives them the ball back either on you 4 yard line, or you have to punt with your back to the back of the endzone. There is much more to coaching than one would realize, like putting up with parents that are a cancer to the program. When there own son gets thrown off his own game, because dad is yelling. The kid can't produce because his dad is putting him in a place of nervous jitters. Just so you know it was parents yelling our ball on the punt block. I was thinking you should take up coaching with your vast knowledge of the game. I was just trying to remember if I knew of the great teams that qbsdad might have coached, but just could not think of any. I was also looking into and trying to find any of the success at something he may have had and still looking. Just like eveyone else already coaching. You have the same opportunity. A four year degree and a teaching license is about all it takes. Of course the interviews, the tests, and basic evaluation. Are you up to the task?
