Lauren was discharged from Vanderbilt this afternoon and should be home by now. Hopefully her and her family can start getting some much needed rest. Please continue to pray for a speedy recovery.

Lauren is out of surgery! Everything went good. She has three plates - above, around and under the eye to stabilize the eye socket. Should be able to go home tomorrow. The eye itself is fine so her eyesight should not be affected. Please continue to pray for her and her family.

Both teams have several injuries to key players and it was a mutual consent from both of the coaches. Game is rescheduled for September 27, 2008 at 6 pm.

You guys make me laugh. I don't hate Cascade. I simply choose to jab at a few of you who make your school look bad by calling the Shelbyville principal out on Coach T and by writing the "Classical Novels" in your local paper. If you can dish it out you have to ba able to take it too. Lighten up guys, I am providing "motivation" to your ball team who I actually think is pretty good.

Hey if anyone should know about not standing a chance in the Boro it would be Cascade. If my memory serves me correctly they left the Boro in 07 quicker than a scud missle leaving Baghdad.

The District title is now up for grabs after Shelbyville beat Tullahoma 1-0 in eight innings tonight in Shelbyville. This following the Tullahoma loss at Lincoln County last night. Easy for some yes but not so easy for others. Some of us have understood the game and how it should really be played for so long that it is really second nature. For us it is not that difficuld to pick the winners if you actually care to do so. I do agree with 11 in that you should keep posting and picking. I will tell you this 11. One way that he knows so much about alot of teams is that he has been directly involved with many of the schools games. Which job would allow one to see so many different schools play? Many of you would recognize him but not really know him. I will stop there because I don't think that you really want to know.

I agree on the clutch hitting but you have to include the game winneing hit by Russell also. Many key plays on defense by the Eaglettes to hold Columbia in the last few innings. Not great plays but the routine plays which they have struggled with over the last few years. Great win Eaglettes!!!

You are right Robotman, no clear favorite. You people should try and ignore NOITALL. Anyone who states that someone "want" be in the playoffs instead of "wont" be in the playoffs is deserving of being ignored.

Atleast the Swami picked the correct team to win! What a post. You miss the game, would love more details and say that the Bears accomplished what they needed to (short of a win of course). You are correct in that kids do quit and leave at every school but you would have to admit that five kids in such a short time would seem to be a little out of the ordinary. Regardless, I hope that it works out for all of them.

I also have heard that the two Renfroe girls are leaving TCA. I realize that this is a basketball thread but since it is about student athletes not playing I figured it should apply. I am speaking about the two softball pitchers. What in the world is going on at TCA? Is there any word on where the girls will end up attending school?

Good Post HC. I know alot of people from Cascade who feel the same way. It is sad that a parent gets so wrapped up in their support of a team that they do not realize when they are casting a negative light on the entire program. I, like you urge everyone to realize that this is a good group of coaches, players and parents who have the kids best interest at heart. Please don't let "one bad apple" spoil the whole bunch. As for your son. I wish him the best in his recovery. It sounds as if he had definately "taken one for his team."
