  1. Congrats to the Lady Hawks on their amazing comeback victory. Also, Congrats to the Rickman Lady Bulldogs. The Upper-Cumberland had several teams in championship games. Allons & York in 1A Rickman in 2A Avery Trace in 3A *LMS was beat in the semi-finals by Rickman. Alot of great girls basketball teams in the area.
  2. The Allons Hawks played a great game. The Hawks lost in a hard-fought game to Nashville Christian by 3. The Hawks had their chances late in the game, but just couldn't convert. Turnovers and free-throws were costly for the Hawks. Coming into this game the Hawks were shooting 62% from the free-throw line on the year. In this game the Hawks shot only 43%, missing 8 free-throws. Nashville Christian is a good team and the Hawks have every reason to be proud of their efforts. Hayden Hill, Logan Ramsey, and Colby Reeder were selected to the all-tournament team. Kailen Melton, Josh Johnson, and Beau Carr also played great through-out the tournament for the Hawks. Allons Hawks will play next in the 1A division of the TNT State Tournament. Nashville Christian had to forfeit their AA division game of the TNT to play the Hawks in the Championship game.
  3. According to this guy Macon Co has atleast 7 upper-classmen. So lets try to list some of the other schools... Macon Co. - atleast 7 upperclassmen (those 7 being sr.) Cannon Co. - 7 (4 sr., 3 jr.) Smith Co. - 7 (5 sr., 2 jr.) Upperman - ? (?,?) York - ? (?,?) Livingston Academy - 3 (1 sr., 2 jr.) I don't know about Upperman and York's roster, but I doubt they are as young as Livingston. The coach at Livingston must be doing something right to be that young and still be at the top of the district... But I guess that just doesn't impress most people. *If my information is wrong feel free to correct it.
  4. Nashville Christian had to forfeit because they were in the Championship game of the James C. Haile State Tournament. They beat Allons Elementary by 3.
  5. Explain why these are your picks, like the first guy did.. That makes it alot more interesting. And it also shows if you know what your talking about or not.
  6. I am sure the weather is to blame, as there is more chance for snow tonight..
  7. Yes, they are getting a new gym. Looks like it will be a nice one too.
  8. Kinda takes away from our Plus Member status.... But atleast there are more hits on the board.
  9. Celina has a solid team. They have one big guy who his pretty hard to move down low, but not the best defender in the world. Their # 22 and #23 are able to knock down the outside shot pretty well. #22 seems to be their scorer. As a team, they aren't the best free-throw shooters. Pickett County is also a pretty good team. #21 is a good three-point shooter. I don't really know much else about them... Maybe that was what you were looking for...
  10. Very true, but shouldn't you be able to teach the fundamentals well enough to be competitive and beat the teams that are centered around one player?
  11. Allons won their semi-final game against Crab Orchard tonight. Allons-48 C. O.-35 Allons will play Nashville Christian on Saturday in the single-A Championship game.
  12. LA-60 JC-48 12 point victory... Still confused as to why I said that?
  13. "High-Spirited" sounds like a good way to put it. I wasn't trying to say that He was too thin-skinned for the job. He can get the job done. LA by 13
  14. Rup11, do you care to tell us all why you think Melton is a jerk. Scrububdab made a good point, if wanting to win every game makes you a jerk, then aren't we all? 4 minutes is more than enough time to come back from being down 20 points. Especially, against the Wildcats who have a tendency to let games slip away. So, I don't think that it was a bad move to live the starters in the game. The other team left their starters in the game. Besides, who are we to question the coach. Unless you are willing to give 30+ hours a week, to building a program, develop young boys into young men, teach them the game of basketball, be competitive, win your district, and then have to put up with parents and "jerks" on a daily basis..... I would stay quiet.
  15. Melton back down from a challenge????? ha..... That is what that coach thrives on....
  16. Could Clay County ever sneak in and get #2?
  17. No, I am pretty sure that they had to call the coaches to get all of their votes again or something.... Not sure though... Oh well.... I don't think that not getting the 7-AA MVP hurt Cates' chances of going to Princeton very much, certainly didn't help that other kid much.. And it didn't keep LA from going undefeated in the district last year either... Can Dunn help them defend their title?
  18. Yes is it, it was just moved from the High School board. As you can tell by all the Non-Plus members that posted on it first... What number is the kid from Eastside?
  19. This makes the district race alot tighter....
  20. I think this topic should be moved to the Middle School board...Then all of you could purchase Plus Memberships that cost $1 a month so that we could talk about it a little more in depth....
  21. Just how many swimming teams are in the state? I have never heard of one.
  22. With teams at the top of their game.... Livingston Academy Upperman York Jackson County Pickett County Dekalb County Clay County Smith County Cannon County Clarkrange Macon County Red Boiling Springs Monterey Hermitage Springs Thats just my guess......
  23. The James C. Haile tournament has started. Here are some of the results from single A games on 1/20/ Nashville Christian over Westside Clarksville Academy over Friendship Christian McFadden over Van Buren Co. Allons over Pickett Co. Anyone else have any more results?
