  1. REBELRON, I am suprised that you bring the Maryville recruiting machine to The T. I know that you all will need some help to get back on top. I guess those defensive linemen you got from Farragut did not help you win a state title. Fulton and A-E have some good players but I think that Alcoa has them signed. I knwe you all were going to lose when I saw the one Whitehaven fan holding a U.S. flag at the game. Great statement by him.
  2. Not much activity lately. Maybe no one wants the job, or it is already a done deal?
  3. Does anyone know how the 6 way scrimage went this Saturday. Who had the best team of all 6 teams. Any suprises? How did the Chatt area teams do against the team from West Knoxville?
  4. Does anyone know what time the 6 way scrimage is this Saturday and what teams will be participating?
  5. Are you sure it is the first time for seats on the visitors side at Fulton. I remember there being stands on the visitors side in the 70's.
  6. Does any one know when Alcoa is scrimmaging before the regular season. I wonder if they will stay in the I or open up in the spread
  7. Kevin must be a heck of a teacher. Teaching at both webb and powell
  8. There is one way to tell if an open enrolment school is recruiting. Don't let students that are out of zone and pay tuition to go to a public school be eligible to play sports. The will say that is unfair. It is similar to a student getting financial aid to go to a private school school playing in the public league. That student is not supposed to be eligible to play sports. That is what go Grace Christian in Knoxville put on probation. They we playing in the public school league, but a student getting financial aid to attend the school was playing football and basketball. Simple solution, all privates play private.
  9. The way to deal with open enrolment public schools is the same way that t$$aa deals with privates playing in the public league. If a student pays for admission to a public school, he/she can't participate in sports. You might be confused. Treat them like a private student getting financial aid to go to a private school. If that student going to a private school plays in the public divison, the they are ineligible for sports.
  10. Of course that is what T$$AA should do. I have said this many times. Three classifications. Privates, semi privates(open zoned), and true public. Privates playing in the public league have too much influence and money for T$$AA to ever have the guts to do this. I say MAN UP T$$AA.
  11. You privates make me sick. Winning championships at the expense of public schools that are not open zoned. Quit crying about travel, gas prices, and not wanting to compete with other private schools. MAN UP AND PLAY DII.
  12. Why don't you CAK people just man up and play in the private division. I just think you are afraid of playing Webb. The travel issue is just weak today. Man UP!
  13. Has anyone heard anything about Aaron Blance. We he be back a Webb, or will he transfer to another private school, or possibly play in Knox County
  14. There needs to be a change in the total playoff system. Seperate all public and private schools for the playoffs and put tuition publics in with the other tuition schools, the privates. The non tuition public schools should not have to compete with tuition publics for a championship, and the publics should not have to compete with private schools for a championship, just so private schools don't have to spend money on travel. Let them all play each other during the regular season, if the want to. Seperate everyone fairly for the playoffs. The statistics show who has an unfair advantage. TSSAA needs to change things, instead of just collecting money.
  15. I think that if you at the records of what teams have won championships at the 1a, 2a, and even possibly 3a, I am am including Alcoa as private, that the privates have dominated the championships and the playoffs as a whole
  16. I do not know. I think that you would have to look at many years past to get a pattern to see how open zone tuition schools and private school playing public to see how much they dominate in the playoffs. Maybe govolsknow.com would know. He does not want to adress the issue of privates playing against public schools that do not allow tuition students. That is where the real disadvantage is. Public non tuition schools against privates and semi privates like Alcoa, Greenville, and Maryville. Has that answered your question.
  17. Simple answer to the problem, because there is a real problem between private schools, open zone tuition public schools, (really semi private), and true public schools that do not allow out of zone tuition students. Put all the private schools in one league with with open zone tuition public schools. The other league would be made up of public schools that do not allow out of zone tuition students. That would solve the private schools complaining about having to travel too far to play other private schools. The would just be playing other semi private schools. The real teams that suffer because of the T$$AA are the public schools that do not accept out of zone students tuition students. If these public schools that accept out of zone tuition students want to keep playing in the public league don't let those students participate in athletics. Do the statistics, how many public schools that are not open zone tuition schools win championships, especially in class 2A thru 6A.
  18. I will assume gcapride, that you assume, that no one in Greenback reads the paper? What about other christians and non-christians that read the newspaper. Where is Grace Christians witness to the whole world in that song ? What kind of deciples are you all at Grace Christian. If you have to somehow rationalize singing that altered Christian hymn then you all preach a Christianity of exclusiveness, not all inclusive.
  19. I would also have to question what kind of morals, ethics, or sportsmanship is being taught at Grace Christian. When I read a report in the Knoxville News Sentinel that the Grace Christian players sing Jesus loves us this we know, that is why we are 6 and 0, if you like us watch us, go 10 and 0. This song is sung on the football field by the players, led by the head coaches son, has been sung for years according to the newspapre report. The head coaches son said that he had been leading the song/cheer since middle school. I am a Christian and I think that is not a good representation of good Christian morals, ethics, or sportsmanship to change the words of a Christian song to make it sound like Jesus loves Grace Christian, and that is why they win football games. The song is Jesus lives me this I know, cause the Bible tells me so, not because we are 6 and 0. I have never read in the Bible anything about football or Grace Christian School. The Jesus Christ I now loves everyone.
  20. I thought that Robbie Collier was a teacher and coach at Webb School of Knoxville
  21. I have watched this discusion with great interest, especially with the intent of possibly recomending Catholic as a school for furure players. I thought that a few post back that a new three contract was in order for Coach Meadows. What happened to that possibliity. Another question? Is Ron Gray still there as an assistant coach. Could some of the assistant coaches be fueling the fire to oust Coach Meadows. Could one of them want the HC job.
  22. Strong x, look at the T$$AA web site for information on eligibility rules and decisions. Don't waste your time on trying to figure out your situation though. Just look at the board of control members and you will find a Maryville assistant principle on the board of control. Give up trying to appeal the eligibility ruling. Maryville has had control of the T$$AA for a long time. Funny money, cheap apartments in the city, lawyers on the football staff, principals working for T$$AA, sounds like Maryville footfall, I mean Mafia to me.
  23. You are very confused strong x. Pepvol, red rebel, rebel ron, mcwrestler, mhs, stars, (sorry if I left anyone out), and the rest of the Maryville Mafia are the experts on this topic, and they have already declared that the player in question is inelegible and GQ has never done anything questionable. The lesson here is that you never leave the Maryville family (MAFIA) with out severe conqsequences. William Blount and Heritage people should just give up their football programs because Maryville just has too much power with the T$$AA power people. What no one remembers is what happened to all of that funny money that GQ's boys printed out over a decade ago. GQ's boys told the head man that they would donate all of the funny money to uncle Ronnie Carter for future consideration if Daddy GQ would let them back on the team. The rest is history.
