  1. This is the year LC breaks the losing streak to Loudon. oops... that didn't work out. CAK will dominate a weak Loudon team. Uh-oh... somebody forgot to tell the Redskins. Keep overlooking the Big Red.
  2. As a Redskin fan and follower, I wonder where have all the haters gone?
  3. It would appear there were some questions answered in Loudon tonight, but all the answers were in Red & White. I don't think Loudon will be overlooked again. I do hope #9 for CAK gets back healthy, he is a heckuva ball player.
  4. Why is everyone so quick to didsmiss Loudon this year. Granted they struggled early in the season with scrimmages, but take a look at the roster. I did not realize until I looked through the program just how many Juniors and Sophomores they have on the field. As with any young team it takes a little longer to come together. McMinn Central had a very athletic ball team, and could very well go 10-0, and make a strong playoff run. Loudon looked much better to me on Friday at LC, and Miley looked like the Miley from last year. I hope everyone keeps overlooking and underestimating this years squad, because I beleive they are better than what everyone gives them credit for.
  5. Loudon appears to have improved in the secondary. I don't think CAK is as talented as McMinn Central so 38 may be high.
  6. I have watched a few practices, and didn't see anything political. Can you elaborate on what you are hinting at.
  7. The Loudon News Paper interviewed the AD there and he said they would appeal to TSSAA to move to this conference to help save travel expenses. Stone Memorial and Scott County will be in their conference.
  8. They played Clinton to a 3-3 scrimmage for the spring. DeAndre Miley did not play but will be ready come August, and several players were in baseball. The o-line and d-line should be strong led by Eric Lawson and Jason Terry. Brandon Johnson will be the starter at QB, and can throw the ball all over the playground. Seniors Tyler Barr, Jordan Purdy, Richard Butkus and Mitchell Ferguson are always ready when the lights come on. Keenan Hawkins will be a 4 year starter at safety. There are several juniors ready for breakout years, including but not limited to Chad Purdy (6'4" 280 lbs.), Nick Roach (LB), Corey Lawson (OL/DL),Aaron Anderson (TE/DE) and Matthew Wallace and Devon Grissom at corner. There may be a sophomore or two get some Friday Night snaps also. Wide Receiver will have Hawkins and Lee Poynter, both seniors, and several juniors vieing for playing time. The Redskins should be solid and competitive.
  9. Do you know where I could get a copy of the 89 Loudon/Alcoa game?
  10. I was a member of that 89 Loudon squad, and really remembering not having an answer for Williams. They beat us 20-14 in the first round of the playoffs at Alcoa. Loudon and Kingston were the only teams to touch Alcoa that year.
  11. Does anyone know a sight that has the rosters for the Tennessee East-West All Star game rosters, or Know of players participating?Ben Everett, the LB from Loudon High is one.
  12. I saw the JV team get hammered by the Loudon JV team that had only freshman & sophomores.
  13. If in fact Loudon, Lenoir City, & Sweetwater go to middle school programs then any program that doesn't follow will be left behind. Who are the three biggest gates of the season? The three listed above.
  14. Are there any rumors as to who may be offered the LC job?
  15. It would play out like this. Crickets would be 5 & 6, hoppers would be 7 & 8, cutters would be 9 & 10, and juniors would be 11 & up. The reason all these programs are starting middle school programs is multi faceted. The kids who play first in high school are alot of times the largest. In this conference the weight limit between the tackles is a hindrance. Even the "green stripe" rule does not help. If you have more than one big kid you have to either choose or only play one way. I think it was Loudon's 3rd team a few years back that had 3 or 4 190 or 200 pounders that couldn't be on the field together. I think another reason for reluctance to field a middle school team is coach's ego. These little league teams are for creating sportmanship, teamwork, and for feeding the high school programs. It is great to win ballgames, but how many teams out of 40 coach every kid, and how many teams pick their best kids and push the others to rear. How many of these "young stars" go on to play high school football. Not better than 40%. I also wonder how many little league teams in this conference start teaching the high school system so that the kids are better prepared, and how many little league coaches "know more than the HS coach"? Fact is, the program should be sending better prepared student athletes to the high school.
  16. Alcoa over CAK by a score of 49 to 20. Because the simple fact is, there are some things money can't buy. But maybe they take Mastercard at the MTSU ticket office.
  17. I dont think depth will hurt the 'Skins. Still alot of young talent.
  18. The bus break down or the Blount County Sheriffs Office take the drug dog through the parking lot again.
  19. I would like to see Loudon / CAK again and see if its the same Redskin team as the first meeting.
  20. Ben Everett the LB at Loudon is a monster. He has the stats along with the ability. He can also be threat at the WR position, and at FB. If this kid isn't a finalist, somethings wrong.
  21. I have seen Ben Everett #2 from Loudon, and can honestly say he is one of the best D1 prospects in the region. 6'4" & 220 or 225 & has freaky speed for his size. Really brings the hammer when he tackles.
