I thought it was pretty easy to understand. It has happened in Anderson County before hasn't it? Didn't they close Norris and Lake City high schools to form Anderson County high? The same thing happened in Jefferson County too didn't it? Now I don't think Clinton high school will ever close.........and form one school with A.C. but it is a intriguing statement.

Before you guys in southeast Tennessee kill each other I would like to add another team in the mix. Oak Ridge wont be a top 3 team in 5-A this year.......But in a few years they will be. I do think they are in the top 7 or 8. I look for Oak Ridge to be a regular state contender in a few years. And about the Owls, they have a great tradition like Oak Ridge has and I wouldn't bet against them. And more importantly their booster club makes some of the best Bar-BQ in the state and they make visitors feel at home. You can't always say that. Best of luck to all and we will see you in the playoffs.

Don't let anybody kid you, your getting a outstanding coach. The statement about him not wanting players to come out for football is false. He just doesn't want kids to come out for football unless they are tough enough to handle his bootcamp style of practice. He will do great, but his players and parents better have pretty thick skin. Blade is one of the best coaches in the state. He is one of the few coaches who was able to beat Gaddis twice and George Quarles once........When Oak Ridge played Maryville in the playoffs in 2012 he came closer to beating them than any other coach has in east Tennessee.

In the east in AAA, the best teams would be Science Hill, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Powell and Karns. I don't keep up with the west or the middle.

Sounds like someone has had a bad past with Mullins. Maybe someone in their family got benched by him.............LOL! Grow up, Mullins isn't the anti-christ.........LOL. And the wimps who complained about coach Blade should had spent a week with Emory Hale back in '79.

Finally someone with common sense. The idea that Mullins didn't hire Blade is almost as dumb as saying that Mullins doesn't want Oak Ridge to succeed and have winning program. Nothing could make Mullins look great like hiring the right head football coach. And that WOULD be someone who IS charismatic and who would unite this community again. Mullins did a GREAT job when he hired coach Blade (one of the few coaches that has beaten George Quarles) and he did a even better job when he hired Green. The conspiracy theory is just plan stupid and makes no d#mn sense at all. Go chase your conspiracy theory on some 9-11 thread or anti-Bush or anti-Obama website. It serves no purpose here on Coach T.

I agree, Mike Mullins has been a great AD. He brought in coach Aaron Green and Scott Blade need I say more? The only thing I don't like about the schedule is not having a week zero opponent before we play Farragut, but is that Mike Mullins fault? LOL

I think this is the first thread I have seen that has more info about a field than the team we are playing. From what I have herd this is going to be a tough game. Cookville is a good team no doubt about it. Is there any Cookville fans that will give a little info about their team? I'm looking forward to the trip and GO WILDCATS !

Your right, this was the most disgraceful high school football team I have ever seen. This takes poor sportsmanship to a whole new level. How can any man (or should I say boy) claim to be a coach and let his players continue play like that? They give rednecks a bad name, and they were a disgrace. Have fun reading about the playoffs in the newspaper, that is, if they know how to read.

The worst thing Oak Ridge could do is over look this team and I'm sure there not going to do that. Farragut is still Farragut and even on a down year they are still going to be good. There still one of the the best football teams in Knox County, only Powell maybe CAK are better. I'm going with Oak Ridge in a close one. Oak Ridge 31 Farragut 21

South Pittsburgh could have beaten Colombia. Maryville or Alcoa could have beaten Vanderbilt or the Titans........They do have better QB's.

If Riverdale is so good, why couldn't they beat Smyrna, Oakland or Blackman? There not even the 2nd best in their own county. Sounds to me like they are over rated.
