  1. Deduction is how I arrived at 'lady'. Your posts seem more like a post my sister or mom would write bc you are nitpicking about how some kid (most probably) is redneck and has no couth. Couth is also not a word that many men use in a day-to-day conversation. Now, bc I called you out and used gender may just be un'couth' but to say that all REBELS are classless bc of a smart-a comment I made is about as dumb as me saying all BHS fans are snobby bc they are rich. FHS has a great fan-base with many great families - so does Brentwood. I would be foolish if I tried to make fun of the entire brentwood fanbase bc of you. GO REBELS!!! WHIP THE BRUINS!!!
  2. Listen, lady, I am not going to read throught the entire thread to 'do my homework'. I responded to your post where you quoted a rebel fan saying nothing more than the REBELS would roll and choo choo would be shut down. There was nothing in that which seemed red-neck or classless. Settle down...REBELS are gonna do work, tonight. Is that better?
  3. How is saying that the REBELS are going to roll over BHS and shut down choo choo classless or displaying a lack of couth? Ah, pathetic.
  4. I'm in Montana and still don't like the BHS dribble. Ha. GO REBELS...BEAT BRENTWOOD!!! I really wish the TSSAA would give live-feed for this game rather than some of the games they are live-feeding (BA and CB...not interested).
  5. Brentwood won and I'm fine with that bc the Rebels had their chances. I also know that you shouldn't allow a bad call or no call to lose a game for you. However, the fumble early where they recovered on a 'dead ball' foul and then scored is bogus. I also wonder how in the world you can call a horse collar when there is no penalty for that in high school football (btw It wasn't a horse collar in the first place even if there was a rule covering that). For all the mistakes made by Franklin (staying in a 3-man front being one and not adjusting until it was too late being one - the Brentwood coaches adjusted very quickly to us), the Rebels played a heck of a game. Let's hope we meet again bc I think the Rebels win a rematch.
  6. Not even close for the Cougars. I was at the RHS game and figure our Defense is going to have a heck of a game. CHS couldn't score from the 1 yard line in that game. Prediction: 42-0 as the Rebels show keep on showing that the BGA game is well behind them. Defense has 3 scores in this game.
  7. It may have been 45-0. I have heard both scores. Either way, Amazing turnaround.
  8. Franklin rebounded well from a 7-6 loss to BGA last week and beat Hopkinsville High School 42-zip. HHS was down 20-7 at the half last week against the defending 3A State Champs from Paducah and beat them 31-20. Great job Rebels. I do know that Lane Hostettler, David Page, and Dan Holloran all had TD's. FHS also blocked a punt and returned it for a TD.
  9. Why not leave well enough alone. Were you standing with both of them when they were talking? She congratulated the guy on a good match - period.
  10. This conversation is unfair to Debbie and Brad. She gave Caleb congrats - she didn't go 'put on a show'. Bc she went up to Caleb, you ASSUME she is complaining. I talked with both her and Caleb. And, yes, Brad freaked out in the heat of the moment and apologized later. These guys don't always react in the best way. But when they regroup and then come out and can congratulate their opponent, then you should recognize that as well. I thought, that when it was all said and done, everyone handled themselves well - wrestlers and fans.
  11. Not sure how Varsity comes up with Shrader at third behind Freeman at 152. John has come out on top both times they have met this season. I see Shrader placing second at worst with a chance against Newberg.
  12. RRR, Go to the TSSAA site and read the bylaws. It's not a scholarship or waiving tuition, it's need based financial aid. Some parents may call it a scholarship because it sounds better, but it's financial aid. All D2 schools offer some form of financial aid. That's the reason they are D2. Some have more to offer than others. It's financial aid, not a scholarship. Now, privates schools could work a deal on younger sibling's tuition prior to their high school grades. If a student/athlete meets a schools academic requirements and a family has legitimate financial needs, if have no issues. The school should never lower academic standards or make exceptions solely for athletics. In life, academics are much more important. As an aside, 19 year old seniors and redshirting (repeating, held back, starting late) seems to be more prevalent at privates. Wow, I thought this was dead a few posts ago. Semantics doesn't change the fact that some schools do recruit. I'll retract and say that some private schools (including the one I attended) offer 'financial aid' to student athletes who can help out their athletic teams. IHSV, congrats to FRHS. I was on the floor pulling for them during the D2 Finals against Christian Brothers. I was also pulling for Bradley in the D1 Finals (btw: it wasn't the runaway that people thought it would be).
  13. SHHS was in Cleveland's bracket as was Franklin. FHS lost to Cleveland 34-32 (CHS ff last 2) and Science Hill by 9. My bad, It was a long day - I was wrong saying that SH was in cleveland's bracket. Either way, good wrestling today.
  14. SHHS was in Cleveland's bracket as was Franklin. FHS lost to Cleveland 34-32 (CHS ff last 2) and Science Hill by 9.
  15. I was really impressed with Bradley. I think that most everyone was rooting for them (unless you were from CHS) after Aguillar went down. Cleveland took it hard to the Rebels last night. i was impressed with our boys fighting hard to come back from 29-0 to make it 29-20 with a chance at the end (until they teched to go up 34-20 and then FF'd out to win 34-32). Nobody gave us a chance to do anything against The Hill but FHS took it to the final match at HW. Congrats Bradley.
  16. Congrats on your Championship, Father Ryan.
  17. "Your stripes have been revealed. You made a statement that some of the DII schools are much better than Div 1 b/c they can recruit. Then you state, Now, I am not sure of a kid on a roster. You make a statement but you know of nobody on a roster. Too funny. Also, to think that public schools do not recruit shows you know nothing. I also figured that out when you spelled education (eduction)" Hey, Face, you caught me...I spelled 'education' incorrectly. Most people would recognize a typo and not bring the grammar police to a wrestling forum. Just bc I cannot give you a name of a kid who was recruited, does not mean that it doesn't happen. And, yes, I do know that public schools try to recruit, but they are a little handicapped compared to private schools. Private schools, as a whole, have better education and facilities than the public schools. If I were in high school and was great at whatever sport I played and BA/FRHS/MBA offered to waive my tuition, then, I would jump at it. You could just leave it at, 'yeah, there is recruiting that goes on'.
  18. Are you serious? When a school offers to pay for a kids schooling to go to a private school bc they can wrestle or play football or whatever it is - you don't think that's recruiting? Don't back down from what you stated....what schools have paid for their children to attend due to being a good athlete???? When a kid goes to Franklin, who is paying for their tuition???? Why is it not easier to recruit to Franklin if their tuition is paid for??? This is getting weak!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ryan did beat Franklin didn't they??? Ryan did have a few wrestlers out didn't they? If it makes you feel better to say what if, if this had happened, if we had wrestled on this date???? Go with it!!!!!! Franklin is the best team in Nashville!!!!!!!!!!!! Does this make you feel better?????? I feel better........ If you are not sure how public eduction works, YOU pay the tuition for a kid to go school -it's tax dollars. Now, I am not sure of a kid on a roster. However, I do know kids who have been offered tuition at private schools to play football, hockey, and to wrestle. You act as if it is out of the question that a private school would recruit a kid who was really good in a given sport (that would be like saying that colleges didn't cheat - not all of them do, but it happens). I'm glad you think that FHS is the best team in 'Nashville' (although we are in Williamson County). As I see it, Ravenwood is better at this point seeing as they beat the Rebels by three both times. Now, I'm going to get a good nights rest and go watch some good wrestling (D1 and 2) this weekend. I will be pulling for my Rebels, but if they get put out, I'll enjoy ohter teams. Personally, I would like to see FRHS win State in D2.
  19. Must be Region 8 #2 bc FHS is the Runner-up from Region 6 and they are in the Cleveland bracket with a first-round matchup with Knox-West.
  20. so, I made a generalization that may not be true for everyone. If you're not recruiting good players from schools that you can, that's your own fault.
  21. Name a DivII school that doesn't do it.
  22. How much is tuition at Franklin High School? I would venture to say it is cheaper to attend Franklin then it is to attend a private school. I would think it would be easier to recruit to Franklin than the other way around. Well, seeing that FHS is a public school, it doesn't cost personally to go there. However, Private Schools wave tuition for people who cannot pay it if they are good at a sport.
  23. so which teams are actually recruiting? Are you serious? When a school offers to pay for a kids schooling to go to a private school bc they can wrestle or play football or whatever it is - you don't think that's recruiting?
  24. To help your memory Father Ryan won 48-25 over Franklin. Almost doubled the score and did it without 3 starters in their lineup. They also more than doubled Franklin's score at the Father Ryan invitational. Better to just say "they were better than us"...no excuses. You don't have to remind me of the score...they won. I did come down to the last couple of matches. FHS matches well with FRHS and if we met this weekend would have as good of a chance to beat them as anybody. I respect the program they have. Some of the Div II schools are much better than Div I schools bc they can recruit and pull students from the public school system which is something that doesn't go both ways. BTW team scores at tournaments do not foretell how well you meet up as individual teams.
  25. I'm not sure about Bradley but you said they couldn't hang with any of the top 3. I do know that Franklin High hung with FRHS and, had they had their complete lineup, would have beaten them. FHS isn't afraid to wrestle Father Ryan, BA, or any of the other DII schools that it meets up with.
