  1. Wing- In your opinion, why do you think FC always have the same conversations there? Just curious. I see it too. I have lived in FC and a past alumni of FC. I now live in another area, but work in Tullahoma. It is the same at other places to an extent, just something underlying I can't put my finger on at FC. Others have noted that discontentment there too. If you prefer to email me my email address is rebels82@gmail.com.
  2. Wingman- You are right. It was 2005 against Riverdale. Gate attendance has been way off this year. I guess we all know that winning seasons equal better gates. It seems lately I hear the same conservations I have heard for the past 2 years. Brings people and players down. Rebels seem to lose the game mentally before the scoreboard reflects it. Tough season for these seniors, but for the other guys hope you remember "tough times don't last, tough people do."-quote by Paul Bear Bryant
  3. That would have been Camino Real- 1106 Dinah Shore Blvd., Winchester 931-968-9930. Also a good place to eat.
  4. Let me see here. Maybe lcfootball could stand for Lenoir City??? I maybe going out on a limb here with a wild guess?? Or maybe I have been watching too much late night comedy shows /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  5. If you guys can venture over to a town bordering Winchester known as Cowan, TN the gas there is $1.99! -Don't know if that is what it will be on Friday we can only hope. You will have plenty of seating for visitors. Los Alamos is a good Mexican Restaurant -586 S. College St, Winchester, TN 37398 or local steakhouse - Western Sirlon Steakhouse 1911 Decherd Blvd., Decherd, TN 37324-steaks are reasonable. I read that some local businesses are doing a tailgate at the game- Chili and Hotdogs. Should be a good place to meet some Franklin Co locals. The tailgate will be to the right of the visitors stands if you are facing the press box. They will have a big crowd and you would have a great time there. Try not to bash the UT Vols though, Winchester is Phillip Fulmer's hometown. They are very proud of their local boy. Hope you feel as welcome as we felt when we visited your town. We won't have a train whistle, but hope you enjoy your visit anyway.
  6. They might be called the Owls, but they reminded me of bees. They were small and very quick with solid black uniforms. They were very good hosts to us last year. I think the whole town was there for the football game. Hope they enjoy the trip down to Winchester on Friday. Gasoline here is now $2.16 gallon! There is a 50% chance of rain on Friday, they played very well on a wet field last year. Go Rebels!!
  7. I was pleased to read that Lincoln Co boys took that game to OT. Very impressive. Franklin Co has not played Baylor since 2006, they beat us by a heafty margin. I do remember some home cookin' going on there that night. I guess they just don't like some country boys from Lincoln Co showing them a thing or two about football. Good job anyway. Good luck Friday night.
  8. FC is scheduled to play Warren Co this Thurs-Oct 9th and Tullahoma on Oct 16th. Both are home games for the Rebels
  9. I think there is waaaaay more to that QB situation than any of us will know. I thought A Shields did emerge as a leader and sometimes leaders are born when the dire situation either makes or breaks an individual. Shedd could have a bad night, still a talented athlete just needs to channel it in the right direction. Coach has got some work to do and some of it will be getting those guys to play as a team. Those boys have been through quite a few changes since they were Freshman (Mantooth, HC), Sophmore and Junior (Britton, HC) and Senior (Atkins, HC). One can see why the trust and team factor is a little weak. That will be harder to learn than the Spread Offense. Atkins is a smart guy-any coach coming to FC had to know this was the elephant in the living room. I will bet Atkins is already addressing the issue. I believe in the Rebels. See you guys in Shelbyville next week.
  10. When I was in High School(early 80's) Lincoln Co. was the big rival. We lived to beat LC. LC also kept us from a perfect season a few times back in those days. It always was a hard fought game. I have such respect for your football program. Coach Thompson is a class act. LC is my 2nd favorite team. But this friday night, I will have to go with my favorite high school team. It will be a great evening for Friday Night Football. Go Rebels!!
  11. Wow! Isn't that something. Olive and his group have to be respected for staying with the Tullahoma for as long as he has. I don't understand why Tullahoma City does not see that. You do have a good coach, but a terrible stadium. I am surprised the town has not done something before now to get him a better facility to play in. Everyone seems to be in a budget crunch now- but that was not the case 5-6 years ago. Just a little mystery I never understood. pedo_29- From one visiting fan to another visiting fan in Tullahoma, I just hope the wind is not blowing in the Visitor Section direction. You might want to eat before you get there. The wonderful smell of porta-potties on a windy night can rob anyone of a good appetite. I am sure this will be a great game, hope all the guys play without injuries. But I gotta say- Go Raiders!
  12. This game will be a challenge for the Rebels. I did make a trip to Cookeville in 2006 (only a few went to that game) and I got to watch a then 2-7 Rebels beat an undefeated Cookeville team. It was one of the best games that I have seen FC play. I know that was two years ago, but I hold some hope for the Rebels. I also think Precious Valentine is a cool kid to watch. He has got to go places with a name like that. So on Sunday afternoons when I am watching the pros and he is playing -I can say I saw him when he was in High School. Much like I am now watching Golden Tate play for Notre Dame. Good Luck Boys and Go Rebels!
  13. I like that idea of grilling. It is a good way to enjoy a Friday night. I can probably get a group together too. We will look you guys up. Go Rebels! And come on out Friday night for some tailgate fun!!
  14. I agree with your statement. I think the town is waiting for a winning season before they get behind these boys. The team needs the support of the community behind them now. FC is rich in football history, just ask Coach T. He even blogs about the greatest team he ever played in 1969. That team was FC Rebels. I believe we can return to the level we once were and I believe these boys can do it. I hate the outcome of Tullahoma, but it is time to move on and work as a team. I only wish our community could apply some of those same principles and step up to support these guys. Go Rebels!!
  15. Lots of people from FC know that. Not so sure about Tullahoma. Good to see you post, Wingman. I have been wondering where you have been
  16. You want us to stay home?? Why us country folks were just driving over to help you boys get a few tickets sales Friday nite. Thought you could use the extra $$ to help build that stadium and them thar skool repairs.
  17. It's gonna seem like a ole' Hatfield and McCoy family reunion... I've been waitin all year for this!
  18. Then I wish you all the best with that situation. We will see you guys Friday night. Should visitors get there early and will there be seating for visitors?
  19. I hate to hear that about the film. But don't put your Tullahoma staff up too far on that pedalstool just yet. My co-worker was watching his son practice about 3 1/2 weeks ago at FC and was surprised to see Britton there taking notes. This was not a scrimmage but a practice. I am sure FC coaches know about this. Several players saw Britton at the local convience store close to the High School right after practice. The FC practice field is next to a road that many parents will just sit in their cars and watch. Several people were just shocked to see that Britton was one of the people there that day. Would that be under ethics or shenanigans on Tullahoma's part? And why in the world would the staff send Britton of all people? Did they think no one would know who he was?

  21. I saw in the Tullahoma paper that she is a senior this year. I would think this is not what he wants on his watch.
  22. I have been following the story of the auditorium for a few years now and I have been shocked to say the least that nothing can get done in Tullahoma but this bickering within the administration. The School system was the one thing Tullahoma had as a selling point to attract new comers to Tullahoma. It really is sad to see this happen to your stadium. I know Olive has pitched for something to be done for years. FC has plenty of problems with administration, but facilities is not one of them. Good Luck. You got a tough battle.

Sure do. This will be the 18th year. I think it is June 7 & 8. I think June 7th is free fishing day in TN. That tournament always brings a big crowd. Just hope Tims Ford Lake has more water in it than last year.
