  1. I wonder why the numbers are so low on MBA's team. People not want to play for the guy?
  2. 0/9 on third down attempts by MBA Marty Euverard is by far the worst head coach in recent MBA history what a complete joke. Should have hired Roc Batten
  3. Euverard has to go his game management cost MBA dearly last week vs Trinity MBA is an afterthought in Middle TN football right now, good job Marty. Keep going five wide on 1st and goal and taking timeouts on 3rd and 15 deep in your opponent's territory

    MBA

there really does need to be some deep-cleaning at MBA go out and find the best possible administrators (unlike what happened when the new AD was hired), coaches and teachers...not just the ones with MBA degrees or parents with influence speaking of new coaches...does anyone realize how much talent has gone through the baseball program in recent years? would there be anything to show for it if it weren't for that ridiculously stacked 04 team?
  5. Elder completely shreds the MBA defense. Wish Fitz Lassing could have come back and saved us one more time. Oh well, if the trend of hiring alums at the expense of finding the best people for open positions continues....so will these results. Giving up 230+ yards to one individual every other time you play a school is unacceptable. It's not like Ensworth does anything complicated.
  6. EHS wins this one easily unfortunately the Rodriguez defense will have no answer for Elder...giving up big plays left and right like they have done to BA/MBA/Maplewood (really any team with dynamic play-makers) since the new DC took over in 2008 I predict Elder will finish with 250+ yards and 4-5 TD runs of at least 20 yards....wish we had a great coordinator
  7. I would love to see MBA play St George. Titans vs Vandy.
  8. I would agree with 3yardsandacloud. He should have been suspended from athletics at EHS until his academic standing improved. These high profile football players at Ensworth (Jefferson/Darkwa/Richardson) have sure had interesting tenures with the school: Jefferson was certainly athletic enough to play football in the Big 12/ACC/SEC but he signs with MTSU, Darkwa is one of the most prolific backs in recent DII history and ends up at Tulane (a fine school, but bound by C-USA restraints...aka not many), and Richardson is apparently not even a qualifier yet (kind of unreal if you think about it). Thank goodness for the sliding scale the NCAA introduced as a means of determining who is eligible to play DI football...because the GPA factor isn't incredibly important if you score high enough on the SAT or ACT. If you only have a 2.000 Core Sum GPA in HS, you only need a 1010 on the SAT math and reading sections or a 86 sum score on the ACT. Anyone got a link to EHS's list of core classes?
  9. I have no problem with McGugin. He is the perfect man for the HC job at MBA. Coach E was replaced by someone who was not the best candidate for the job. At least he's an alum though.
  10. Might show that Ensworth isn't "all about athletics" or whatever...but it also shows that Ensworth's academic support system is deficient. Part of what makes a great school great is its ability to retain its students.
  11. I feel that the practice of hiring alums at the expense of going out and getting the best teachers/administrators possible has hurt MBA yet again. Beginning in the fall of 2008, teams with explosive options on offense have had an abundance of big plays against the Big Red defense.
  12. I'll never respect Gary Rankin after the things I heard that man say at a scrimmage out in Murfreesboro many summers ago weird that he is in a position to influence the lives of young men pick up the phone when BA/MBA/MUS come calling, please
  13. Looks like MBA just failed to convert a 4th and short at about midfield...35-28 Big Red with the lead. Immediately after, MBA gives up a big play like they've been prone to do against explosive teams since 2008. Hopefully the Bowers emulation stops. Just freaking punt. BGA ties the game as a result of that failed attempt.
  14. Wesley Johnson of MBA and Vanderbilt was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week today SEC football release
  15. the Jones brothers at Bama out of ECS Marlon Brown out of Harding Academy UGA has an OL out of Briarcrest
  16. was looking at the Samford roster and it seems there's a fair amount of BA players down there and I think they have a couple at Navy too
  17. I would imagine that there were at least one thousand people there in addition to the stadium's capacity...it was incredibly packed. It looked more crowded than the MBA/Trinity game to me.
  18. easily the worst congestion/traffic direction I have ever seen at a HS event after the game....was a complete free for all. If someone had a heart attack, they would have died.
  19. Rumble is probably too busy hosting cam shows.
  20. Bowers said Richardson was hurt but not injured so I'm sure he'll be in the starting lineup.
  21. wish Maryville would play a team like BA/MBA/MUS/etc
  22. I think Pearl Cohn might pull this one out. I expect them to rip off a number of big plays against this MBA defense. In the past two years, the Big Red have fallen victim to the big play numerous times under their new defensive coordinator. I don't see that changing. Really wish MBA had a great defensive coordinator like they did pre-2008.
  23. In the 100+ years of MBA football, there are probably few games that really compare to this one. Fitz Lassing is an absolute beast. Words can not describe what kind of makeup that kid has. If he doesn't win the award for the most outstanding boy in the school, then I won't know what to say.... So much for the MBA seniors not wanting to play Ensworth. Great season for the Tigers. Darkwa will always be remembered around here, that kid deserves a championship.
