  2. Some sad news from Sequatchie Co. Some of you who have attended Sequatchie Co. Football games over the years may have knew this gentleman but you certainly have heard his voice. Mr. Wayne Reynolds the long time "Voice of the Indians" passed away yesterday at the age of 89. Mr. Reynolds served as the Public Address announcer for Sequatchie Co. Football for 49 years from 1964-2013. In 1954 he helped co-found the Sequatchie County Quarterback Club and served as a QB Club officer for over 20 years. He was Co-Chairman of the Athletic Building Committee and supervised the construction of the Football Complex. He was inducted into the East Tennessee Football Hall of Fame in 1988, TSSAA Hall of Fame in 2001, and was East Tennessee TSSAA Contributor of the year in 2002. http://hosting-16379.tributes.com/obituary/show/Wayne-Reynolds-104290606
  3. Plus two or three running backs that will be Juniors that showed a lot of promise when they got a chance to carry the ball in blowouts or at the end of games. One of which I think could be argued that he should have got more carries behind the starting line during meaningful parts of some of the games.
  4. I finally got time to finish the video. The thing that interested me the most was the discussion at the end on things like uniforms etc..
  5. Credit to the Pioneers, Sequatchie was up 26-9 at one point and the Indians suffered a couple of injuries and the Pioneers made the plays to climb back in it.
  6. The Sequatchie pep club "The Tribe" has been using the smoke bombs for several years now both on the field during the team entrances and in the stands after scoring plays. If I'm not mistaken several of the pep clubs in the Chattanooga area use them as well. However, I agree they should not be thrown onto a visiting field.
  7. It was McMinn Central. I didn't get to see all of it working the BBQ but my count in varsity acton Sequatchie won 4 or 5 TDs to 1?
  8. His brother Blake was an outstanding LB for Sequatchie a couple of years back and is now at Air Force.
  9. What is the problem with Tyner? Isn't it built into a dirt embankment other than it being old?
  10. Could someone from Baxter either post a link if there is a website or message me a copy of the Upperman roster that the Sequatchie Quarterback Club use in this weeks Gameday programs. Message me through the Sequatchie Football Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Sequatchie-County-Football-221255407900334/messages/ or the email link found here.: http://sequatchiefootball.webs.com/aboutus.htm Thank you!
  11. We are in the Central Time Zone. Plenty of places to eat the usual Fast Food stuff Wendy's, T. Bell, Subway, McDs, Sonic, H.House. If you like Mexican then try El Metate or Happy Fiesta, Traditional Southern go for Land's Rest. or The Cookie Jar, Italian there is Pizza King, steak/burgers go for Andy's Pizza & Steakhouse.
  12. I don't have all the records (I'm missing 84-86) and especially from the mid-70's & earlier but I did find that they played in the 1st rd. of the Playoffs in 1988 and Sequatchie won 32-13.
  13. Good win by the Indians and got out of it injury free with a big Region game next week! Just to note the second half from about midway through the 3rd on was played mostly in a steady downpour!
  14. The last Sequatchie team to play East Ridge was 2002 I remember in '95 Sequatchie scored 21 unanswered points in the 4th Quarter to beat the Pioneers 21-13 at East Ridge.
  15. I agree, I haven't missed a Sequatchie game since '95 (1st Rd @ South Greene) and I can't remember the last home game I've missed probably around the '92 or '93 season. As you said I love my Indians but right now I just want to win the region anything on top of that is gravy! We aren't in the same league as Alcoa, CPA etc.. hopefully one day we can be. The last time we thought we were at that level I halfway remember crying my eyes out as a 4th grader watching the debacle that was the Gatlinburg-Pittman game. I'm glad we finally have a coaching staff that at least so for has our team ready to play week in and week out. Its been a while since we have seen that at SCHS. Hopefully some of the those underclassmen who probably would have been starters or seen a lot of PT this season but instead got so fed up and walked away after last years horrible season and did not give this staff a chance will see how much these young men respect playing for this staff and will comeback this winter once weight training begins after the season. Not to mention the athletes in school that are only playing basketball, baseball or even soccer. We need the return of the two & three sport athletes!! Now for next weeks game it will be a battle! As always its Bledsoe's Superbowl! If they don't win another game this season if they beat Dunlap (as they like to say) to them it will be a great season.
  16. I'm glad to see a fan of a team not associated with either school recognize this! I have thought for years that the Bledsoe/Sequatchie game hasn't got the publicity it deserves the way Marion/SP does in the Chattanooga media. Its always standing room only and I have seen games where it would be 3 or more deep at the fence around the field. I would put it on the same list with MC/SP, Baylor/McCallie, Bradley/Cleveland, Soddy/Red Bank. This game as someone said its throw the record books out it will be a fight!
  17. Sequatchie Co. wins 41-15! York scores (8) late against backups!
  18. Sequatchie County INDIANS (2-0) @ Smith County OWLS (2-0) 1st Region 4-3A game for both teams!
  19. I agree, I usually don't make projections on here anymore but it went about as I expected it to as well. This Indians defense is one of the best I have seen in a long time.
  20. There was also several plays where the last Pirate tackler was able to bring him down or he would have been gone for some big plays. Saw a couple of plays where the Seq. runner also missed the hole a couple of times which led to short gains.
  21. He spent a year at a JUCO in Kansas before moving to Cumberlands
