  1. I'm looking forward to see him taking on some of the LB's that Hillsboro have. Especially him going toe to toe with that #2. He's only a 10th grader, but man can he hit.
  2. Is it just me or does Henry County's fullback kind of run like Barry Sanders? I was surprised he ran with that kind of vision and had the cuts he did for being such a big kid.
  3. Boski- The tightends aren't being touched? I saw the defensive ends jamming them all night. You can be sure that the tightend is being watched after MBA using their TE all the time. I can tell you why Hillsboro won in one word- Conditioned. Hillsboro was just in better shape. Maplewood might have a great line, offensively and defensively, but it doesn't matter if you're out on the bench getting a breather. Can't wait until we see the likely rematch later on in November.
  4. Yes, all the Clemons' boys at Glencliff have been brothers.
  5. It was POURING down rain, Overton pretty much had good field position the whole first half (which is why all 21 points were scored in the first half), and Glencliff was committed to the run, so the Bobcats just stacked the box. If Glencliff wants to be successful they're going to have to get their QB involved. He's not only a great passer, but also a tough football player.
  6. From what I understand, Eric is going to be fine and Young did get some pressure due to the line's fault a couple times, but from what I saw it looked like he wasn't getting the ball off in time. And no matter how good your line is, you can probably only make a pocket for about 5 seconds at the MOST.
  7. I attended the WHOLE game- it was 24-6.
  8. Don't forget the game is going to be on Thursday night.
  9. I don't know how good Overton is, but I assume that if the Burros' can put up a lot of points in this one, they will, to show that they can still play after taking that tough loss last Saturday night.
  10. Also Eric Gordon didn't even dress out for this game, so there's one of the best players in the state not playing for his team and Hillsboro still managed to do some positive things (they still have a lot of work to do, but so does every other team in the state).
  11. Is the tournament finished? Who won?
  12. I know the returning champs, Hillsboro, will be there.
  13. I could see a repeat, but I don't know if they'll manage to be undefeated again.
  14. Thanks, I really just wanted to know who ended up winning. It's nice to see Jordan stepping up. He was a big reason why the Burros had the chance at the end of the Quarter Final game against Maplewood to beat them, but they just couldn't pull it out. How did the Blihovde's look? They're going to be in a great position to help the offense and defense out this season. Also, did any of the younger guys look good or maybe some other seniors who stepped it up a bit yesterday?
  15. I know it took place today, but does anybody have the results?
  16. I heard CSS Sports picked the game up, so it will be shown on TV.
  17. I received my copy last year the week before Week 0.
  18. Ralph Thompson is a fantastic coach and Maplewood probably has more AND better athletes than Hillsboro. I can't wait to see the Hillsboro/Maplewood game this year. The atmosphere should be great with the two having a newly found rivalry and it should be a smashmouth football game.
  19. Will they be good enough to get to a possible rematch with Hillsboro in the playoffs?
  20. So I really don't understand the format. Could anyone help me out with that? For example: Class AAA District 11 5A: Centennial, Hillsboro, Hillwood; 6A ??” Brentwood, Franklin, Independence, Overton, Ravenwood How would those teams schedules be and how would the playoff brackets be set up?
  21. Defense pretty much was the story of this game. You could tell is was still spring because there was a number of turnovers coming from both teams. The final score was 6-0 Pearl Cohn, but they scored with their first team in against Glencliff's 3rd on the last play of the scrimmage. Glencliff's o-line was too slow off the ball and they couldn't get some plays off that would have been big runs. They hardly threw, but when they did #10 put on a nice ball most of the time. On defense their inside linebackers 40 and 44 looked pretty good as did their safeties, but their line let a lot of big plays come through them. They did however show pretty good hustle and followed to the ball. Pearl gained a lot from the additions of the MLK kids from Hillsboro. Most of them started and the ones who didn't played a pretty good amount of snaps; their starting QB, their starting FS, their starting LG, and they had 3 others who played including QB #8 and FB #43. Their second string QB (who started against Antioch and from what I heard played decent) was very erratic and seemed very frustrated on the sidelines. Their backfield looked pretty good, but the line's got some work to do (both Glencliff's and Pearl Cohn's O-lines weren't as big as I thought they'd be). On Defense they were pretty fast and hard-hitting. They made some big plays and kept Glencliff from scoring on a couple of chances. Overall, I'm impressed with Coach Murray's first Spring as head coach. Glencliff was very disciplined and easily improved on both sides of the ball. Even though he likes to play smashmouth football, I think he's going to have to run more passing plays and I think he might find that out the hard way; however, I can see Glencliff winning 4 of 5 games. As a whole, Pearl played with a lot of passion on both sides of the ball and they looked good. Mason's absence is very obvious and I think they'll struggle early on in the season (their O-line seemed to be missing something), but they should hit their stride in October and have a playoff berth.
