  1. Not sure why a public school would advertise..... the "school fair" for lack of better terms and I stand corrected, I have never seen a publc school at one. I don't "think" coaches are allowed to be there. It is more for a convenience/one stop shopping, for parents that are looking for another avenue of education. And there are ads in the papers all the time for private schools and what they have to offer.
  2. and oh - school fair may not be the right term - but it is a bunch of schools that usuually have a table and some representatives there to answer questions about their school - they have been held at Opry Mills too.
  3. Most, or a lot of private schools in Nashville participate in one at The Children's Museum in Nashville and they have them at middle schools that only go thru 8th grade - which are usually privates too.
  4. Privates recruit every student they have - no one is "zoned" to go to a private school. Privates have school fairs all over the place to recruit students. Publics transfer via the transfer rules according to TSSAA. All the above can be gray/blurry at best. Proving that a coach "actually" recruited a player is hard to do. Most folks know who/where the good coaches/programs are. It is the school's responsibility to follow the rules set by TSSAA in regards to athletics. And TSSAA enforces the rules.
  5. She's gonna play - rules have been followed
  6. The winning run was balked in - no no tying run balked in
  7. I heard a 6 year old at Brentwood Civitan batted .850 last year in t-ball - is that good?
  8. I thought CPA was the best A team in the AA tournament
  9. Congrats to GC. Number 11 played a great game. CPA played tentative and missed too many layups and did not get the 3 point shot going. GC played like they had been there before. CPA got it to down 6 in the fourth quarter and seemed to get some momentum going, but poor passing and shooting from that point on. I am sure GC had something to do with it, but I am sure that CPA is disappointed in how they played. Hopefully they get hungry for a return trip with all the talent they have returning next year. Don't think I have ever seen a game where a team did not shoot a free throw all night especially when the opposing team is as aggressive as GC is. Not saying hat referees cost us the game. GC was still the better team tonight. Good luck in the next round. Hey man, CPA had a great team and a great fan base that stood behind their team the whole way. GC didn't shoot the ball too well tonight with the tough defense that CPA put on us. I really didn't approve of that flagrant foul that was not called. The girl grabbed Butler by the head and moreless through her to the floor. However, I understand that the girl was probably frustrated that Butler was dominating her all night. Congrats to CPA on a great season and good luck next year! "The girl's" hand was on the ball - not shooting girl's head - as the "other girl" went up to make the shot - the ball was by her head and the ball was between girl blocking shot and girl's head shooting. The end result looked awful - but really - there was no foul/all ball - from my angle all I saw was hand on ball. There was no "grabbing" of the head. And was glad no one was hurt.
  10. Doctorno - when is the last time you have seen a District MVP for the regular season come from the 5th place team?
  11. Were any of the posters on this subject actually at this game? Would like to hear form someone who was actually at the game in person.
  12. Please MJ spokes person - define running up the score
  13. Sometimes that can come back to bite you ... like an unfavorable draw in the state tourney - "the game knows"
  14. I bet if you paid the umpires more money they would make better calls... eg. pay teachers more they would be better teachers......
  15. Don't forget about the magnet schools - they are "workin" the system too
  16. Game between E.Lit and Whites Creek on Fri Jan 8th, Metro was closed due to snow - not sure if game has been made up or not.
  17. Your right they didn't move. They chose not too. Lipscomb would have been in AA. They don't want to play Ensworth and Brentwood Academy on a regular basis. Nor give "need based" dollars/scholarships
  18. Nor give "need based" dollars/scholarships
  19. Lipscomb and CPA did not move to IIA. Didn't have too.
  20. It is the home teams call -- to play
  21. Looks like they had a great "recruiting year" Free country.... oops! that is the argument publics use for transferring........
  22. This particular game had nothing to do with transfers - This was a case of the "game knows". When you don't shake hands after a state final - someone has to pay, in this case - CR.
