The biggest problem is that the TSSAA does not represent the schools like they are supposed to do. When 75-80% vote for a split and they ignore it, it just doesn't give much hope for a split.

I am sure this kid from Iowa just showed up in Nashville and was drawn to CPA. Public schools need to stand up and be heard. This latest recruit is just rubbing it in the public schools face.

Divide the privates and publics. Let the privates decide how they want to divide themselves up. All privates do not have the same purpose. Make the publics divide into 4 classes with Magnet schools playing at the highest level. No plan is perfect but anything is better than what is in place now.

Community is the team that will make it to the state Region 5-6.

It will most likely be after the 16-17 season. With the next meeting not being until December, it is not going to happen unless football holds off on its scheduling til January. It does need to happen now and not three years from now. Let the privates compete for the talent among themselves. It should be understood that privates do have to recruit or they wouldn't have a school. They don't just show up (especially from Iowa). The schools in CPA's district should make a statement and forfeit all their games to them to let the TSSAA know how unfair it is for public schools to have to compete on such an uneven playing field.

Heard Eagleville is much improved. Not sure if they picked anyone up but with all the talent in Rutherford Co. wouldn't be surprised if some hasn't drifted down.

Pitch counts are subjective to the arm. Kids need to throw more to build their arms up. Go back and look at 60's and 70's with the 4 man rotation and finishing games. More innings and less injuries to arm. Mechanics for pitchers for Mets (Seaver, Ryan, Koosman, etc.) were basically the same and they all had long careers. Maybe we are babying arms too much.

How will the teams in Cascade region be this year? Obviously CPA will be on top but how is Giles and Marshall going to be?

Hard for publics to beat the privates in minor sports. AAA doesn't have to compete against them so they could care less about A teams.

Last comment on this. Never said SH had anything to do with it. It was one of the 3-6 teams that wanted it this way. SH and CPA would have been stupid not to have voted for this knowing their position of 1 and 2 was set. The fall bracket was a conventional 6 team bracket with 1 and 2 receiving byes. If you think I am knocking SH, you are wrong. Very impressed and think they will do well from here on in.

Don't know where you got your information but this bracket was drawn up the Monday before the tournament started. A normal 6 team bracket was drawn up in the fall. Oh well the best two teams advanced. Good luck to Spring Hill and CPA!
