  1. This District is starting to show how it will finish. In the 4A bracket...Giles (showing well with a tough schedule, and no real challenges left, should finish with just one loss. The remaining schedule only has a record of 8-13. Should finish 9-1) Page (played a tough schedule also, even though they are 2-3, they have showed well. Don't see anything in front if them, should finish 7-3. Spinghill (4-1 now, but have a tough schedule ahead. They have Columbia Central and Page, which I believe they most likely will lose and finish no worse than 7-3, but because I think they will lose against Page they will finish 3rd) Marshall (just have a down year and are young, 0-4 now, but see them picking up a win or two before the end) So the 4A.....(just an opinion) Giles, Page, Springhill and Marshall 3A...............Fairview should finish 6-4 (at worse 5-5) Lewis could finish 5-5 (worse 4-6) This winner of this group should be decided when they meet on Oct. 23 Hickman E. Hickman. So...if they finish that way, not sure how the playoff situation will be, If not only Giles and Page get in, but will springhill be able to go? Springhill will if they can beat Page. I seen both play, and have to Edge to Page. I really thought Springhill would be alittle stronger than I have seen, I know they have a good record now.....but the opponents they have beaten is nothing like Giles and Page. This is just a guess as of now, and of course in High School football it can change quickly. Good Luck to all of 12
  2. I'm not sure, I heard he had an ankle problem so that be what the problem was. They have quite a few banged up, 22 was playing with shoulder, knee and wrist problem. 55 ankle, 2 ankle, not sure on this one, but heard 65 had either a knee or ankle issue. 39 ankle...sounds like a M.A.S.H unit. Alot are banged up, but all are playing hard and putting out all they have. I personally havent' been more prouder of a group of players than this bunch.....they have battled every game. Sooner or later (sooner I hope) they will turn the corner. Wow, you guys are beaten up. I sure hope that linebacker that you lost if okay, when I seen him in Lexington he was something special. The big plays seem to be killing you guys.I know last year you had the missle playing safety, he seemed to shut the big plays down. I guess your safety this year is learning. Everyone I have talked to over there (except former players) is still excited about these players. They are putting out effort beyond what was expected. I think your coaching staff and Players are in this together, and how sweet victory will be once they get that first one. From all I hear they are still working hard and giving up hasn't even enter anyones thought process, Which is great. Hang in there Lewis........the good times are coming. I agree with alot of the posters here, this group is something special based on the amount of effort they put out. I think alot will remember that more than wins and loses. Coaches and young players are learning what it will take, which will make them much better for the coming years thanks to this group laying it all out. The Win is Coming!
  3. I think Springhill is just to deep. East if improving, but think springhill will take this one.
  4. Good post there Fan! They seem to be in every game. I sure hope the people there don't let these players down. They are playing HARD! I understand you are beaten up some. I heard about losing your starting LB in the first game.....What a blow to the team, he was something special. I'm sure he would have made a differance in the outcome of some of these close games. I understand you have quite a few players playing hard even though they are really banged up.....shows grit and determination. I can't wait to see this bunch get that first one..its going to mean more to them than all the wins in previous years did to those...those were expected. Nothing but the best to all Lewis county players and fans (those that hang in there and give true support, and not just fair weather fans) .
  5. THe original backfield I seen could match the speed, that didn't seem to be the problem. The line struggled, but over time they will pick it up. From what I seen on the strength side......they seem to be right there also. Experience is whats needed.....which they are gaining every play, quarter and game. Lewis has some special talent......its just a matter of using it wise.
  6. You just proved your more of an Adult than so many of these poster. You shouldn't have to do that, all you did was play the game for a win, everything else was out of your hands. Don't let this divide the team.......some adults have already tried to do that. You and your team mates stick together and let the kids chatter. Good luck to you and all of your "TEAMMATES".
  7. IF perry players play together........this one should be theirs! Would like to see Perry get off to a good start, they do have talent.
  8. Agree 100%. They need to do the same with the backfield. Let it settle also and get used to each other and the line blocker. My friend told me (he was there) that it was a great pass to 3, that it surprised him. Can only help his confidence each game from here on out. I hope they spread it around more too.......I seen some film and they were so heavy on one player, that they became predictable. They need to get all the players involved which would make it harder on defenses .
  9. Franklin in a close one. Turnovers could be the differance.
  10. I talked a friend of mine over there last night and he said they were going with the soph. and the starting qb is now a half back. Sophmore fullback and wasn't sure after that. Going to be talking to my friend later on this afternoon and if I learn anything else I'll pass it on. I agree with you on changing in the middle of the drive ( I wasn't there) but if your moving.....why mess. But from what I have read on the boards it seems the coaching staff is still trying to decide. I seen them in Lexington and was impressed with what I saw for the first test.
  11. No from what I understand they felt the 2 jrs. and 2 sophs were they way they wanted to go. Yea he started the first..don't know what changed. He played corner and halfback in the first. Still think the coaches are looking for the combo they feel can win. I seen that kid play in person...really don't understand why he wasn't in there...but the coaches have their reasons.
  12. Have to go with camden here. Haven't seen Harpeth this year or know much about them, so could be wrong, but Camden the past several years have been very consistent. Good luck to both.
  13. He is a senior, but he didn't start last week.
  14. Don't think this is going to be an issue this year. I understand they only have one that might be able to go to the next level, a defensive end, But agree with you.....parents and players need to just take charge and not depend on anyone else. In a couple of years they might have some that could take the next step. Still think this group has a few surprises in them before the years over. I take my hats off to them even 0-2, they have never quit in either game and fought to the last seconds......Lewis county tradition is still there, not the wins but the effort . I got to see them play in Lexingtion, impressed with the effort especially for their first time together. Hang in there Lewis county!!!!!!
  15. If I were from Hickman County, this woud be on the bulletin board. Good luck Bulldogs. Last years game was only a 1 point win for Marshall, but they know Hickman is down this year due to graduation. Good luck to Hickman......effort is all everyone expects first...the rest comes after that.
  16. Shock.......I'm in shock that the main discussion here is about who deserved a game ball/someone got one that shouldn't have! I figured when I came over to this board I would see positives about East and being 2-0 and playing a rival like Fairview, instead its that stuff that seems more important that the team winning. Enough of that......this game should let East know what they have this year. Congrads to the EAST TEAM on a good start. Don't let the fussing about who got what or who deserved it divide the team, thats adult acting like kids...which they do sometimes. This team is setting the bar each time they go out now for the future teams.....You will always be the ones that got that first win and the first ones that started 2-0. Good luck this week.....let the adults act like kids and you play like men!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Well whatever. Most people would agree they were better last year. They're trying hard to replace the seniors they lost, but that's a big gap to fill. Maybe they'll get better and then Cwood can say they played a good LC team. If you'd seen how they played and who they had before this year, you would understand what I'm talking about. Lewis has the skilled players equal to last year, but lack the BIG 300 lb linemen. In my opinion the receiver is better than last, not quite as fast but has great hands. The linemen are learning every down, every game, just lack the experience. QB last year was something special. Lewis has already changed qb in one game (which doesn't make much sense so quick). I think as time goes....hopefully the coaches will figure things out. THey need to get more balanced for sure. #2 carried the ball.....if not 25 times, close too it. He is a deceit player, not great, but can't carry the team by himself. THey have a beast for a fullback that with some carries will only get better. The other 2 backs are excellent. The backfield has fumbled more times in 2 games than I can remember over last year. If they don't get a more balanced attack it diffently is going to be a long year.
  18. ddaddy/stat....whats going on over there.....Lewis lost one game and made such big changes in the offense? They practiced all summer and played summer scrimmages with a great backfield ( I got to see first hand) and then make changes. Hope the coaches didn't give up on them and just preparing for next year. You have a tough game coming up next week.....good luck. BTW stat I got a nice tan on my vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Big Congrads to East.........no one deserves it more. All those years of losing......looks like things are positive now. I imagine the fans and players are floating on cloud 9! Congrads to the coaching staff.......good job pulling these kids together through all the turmoil the faced this off season. One game at a time......once again.....BIG Shout out to all!
  20. I agree with you stat...btw.....good post. This is far from over, what you have to worry about is coaches losing confidence in the players. I have seen alot of film on these kids, one thing I would never worry about is their desire. I think Lewis has a tough schedule , no doubt about it, but believe this group will stand up and play hard. Hated to see they lost MTP game, but like you said maybe getting that lost out of the way might have done them a favor.......taking on the challenge of people thinking they aren't that good. Good luck this friday! We Believe up here!
  21. I think this game could be an entertaining game to watch. Tough call......EHHS does have experience with this group...they have played for years together and took some beatings.........but this year it should start to pay off. Perry has some great speed and a few excellent athletes. This has the making to be a great game. Good luck to both team.........Finally the season has come!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. This is a hard game to figure. Both lost key players due to graduation. I know Lewis lost their entire offensive backfield.....and 3 or 4 great linemen. I seen Lewis scrimmage at Lexington.....wasn't to bad for their first time. Lewis has some great Athletes, its just a matter if they can pull it all together. It should be a great game.......won't even guess on this one. I agree with the comment on defense in this game. Which ever one is able to stand up......will take it. Lewis line isn't quite as big as they have been the past few years. They do have some play makers though. Good luck......keep it clean and injury free! Its the start of another season.
  23. Seen some film......They are big and have speed. Couple of good backs, receivers are very tall. Sure seems there isn't much interest for them here. They have to have some fans on here...maybe they will respond.
  24. Found my answer on the district 12 board........sounds like they did awesome! They are improving each time. Great job Lewis! 1 - 1 against a 5a is impressive...now don't get the big head.......LOL. Sounds like everything and all the hard work is turning in to.......instead of rebuilding year to a reloading one......again Congrads to that young bunch.....keep up the good work. BTW.........no injuries I hope.
