Siegel is the real deal. I knew that a few weeks ago. I'm not really surprised they scored this many points. Their offense has it all, qb, rb's, wr's, line.

This game really means nothing. Its the second meeting between these 2 that will be important. These 2 will be 1-2 in the district. Nobody else in the district will come close to these 2. As far as my pick, Siegel is a well oiled machine with a lot of confidence. Riverdale thinks they will win because theyre riverdale. Riverdale gets woken up tonight as Siegel lays it on them 35-21. But remember the rematch down the road will be what really counts and Riverdale will be ready for that one.

Great game by both teams. I'm sure it was a great game for the tv audience. As far as refs, some are making it seem as though all the bad calls went against Oakland. What about the fumble by the Oakland quarterback that was recovered by Blackman but he was ruled down and I believe another fumble by an Oakland runningback that was recovered by Blackman but somehow it stayed Oakland ball and the clock not starting with 1.2 seconds left even though it should have and Oakland ran a play and still had 1.2 seconds left after the play. These were all huge plays. So there were bad calls both ways i guess. Oakland made the plays they had to make at the end of the game to win so they deserve the win. I've been saying all year that Cousins is a stud. We should be getting him the ball a lot more. The kid has good hands, good speed, and is very strong. Also, Our Oline needs a lot of work. We got whipped up front.

I think Williamsburg is 4-0 and putting up lots of points every game. And Hazard won the State champ last year I believe after beating Wburg 28-0 in the playoffs

Great win by the Blaze last night. It was a must win as far as I'm concerned for Blackman to have a chance to make the playoffs. I did not make the trip and from what I hear Blackman brought a pitiful crowd. I know its a long trip but I think this should also make everyone realize the importance of the Blackman band. They did not go last night and if they had, there would have been a bigger crowd due to parents, relatives, and friends of band members not to mention the 200 plus band members. Blackman normally follows very well. I hear theyre not going to Bradley Central in a couple of weeks also. Good luck Signal Mountain the rest of the way. I hope you win all your remaining games.

I hope Siegel wins because if Riverdale is better than them, I don't want to play them.

I will say I believe Blackman has a lot of potential and some really good players. We just haven't gotten everything together yet. If and when we do, we will be a very solid team. Its time to put everything together now.

I really don't know what to think about this game. Blackman would probably lose to last years Signal mountain team. But if ya'll are down, maybe we can pull out the win. I guess it depends on how we react to last weeks loss and traveling to the mountain and how good you guys really are.

Siegel will have 28 in the 1st quarter. Siegel goes on to win 56-7. Playing their backups the entire 4th quarter.

Don't know how the blaze will react to getting whipped. Last year was a close loss to Siegel. This years team makes a lot of mistakes. I don't really know what to expect from the Blaze this Friday.

I now think there are 2 really good teams in this district in Siegel and Riverdale and 4 average to weak teams in everybody else. Riverdale and Siegel are both capable of winning state championships. None of the other 4 can get out of the 2nd round of the playoffs. I believe this is the weakest this district has been in several years.

Excited about this game. Siegel is one of the best teams in the state and we find out Friday if Blackman can compete. Siegel should be a huge favorite. Can Blackmans defense contain Siegels offense which is one of the best in the state? Siegel seems to have it all, great passing game and great running game. Blackman has to contain Siegels running game to have a chance and hope Siegels passing game isn't on. Blackman does have a good defense. I believe Blackman will do a good job with Siegels offense but theyre offense is so good they will still score in the upper 20's or 30s. Can Blackman score on Siegel. Notgrass is a better running back than people give him credit for. Mathers is a threat with a lot of speed and Allen is a power back. Williams is a good passer with Cousin and Lilly really good athletic receivers. We should be able to move the ball but can we put it in the end zone. Do we make a lot of mistakes? if so, we lose big. If not, we can keep the game close and with a few breaks, have a chance at the end of the game. Should be a great night for football. Go Blaze!!!

No disrespect meant to Oakland. I would rate them a litlle higher than Blackman. I just don't think they're as good as Siegel and Riverdale. I could be wrong though. As far as Blackman, they are just making a lot of mistakes offensively right now. When they get those cleaned up, they will be dangerous. Defensively, we're pretty good but I'm still not sure we can slow down Siegel this week so offensively, we have to score alot of points and with the mistakes we've been making that kill drives have to end this Friday just to keep the game close. I would have Siegel #2 ahead of Riverdale and behind Maryville.

1. Siegel 2. Oakland 3. Riverdale 4. Blackman 5. Lavergne 6. Smyrna Siegel, Oakland, and Riverdale fighting for the top 3. Blackman, Lavergne and Smyrna fighting to come in 4th. However, Riverdale didn't show much and would be much better in a real game. Siegel just seems to have so much skill position talent and a great quarterback. Oakland looked really good. Blackman - will Dee Mathers make a big difference and how good will Williams be at quarterback. He wasnt real impressive last night but has looked really good in other scrimmages. Lavergne looked good and had a nice running back. Smyrna played hard and well but not sure they have all the talent they need. Couldn't ask for better weather for August 10th for football. Wish it could feel like that next Friday night. Go Blaze!!!

I hope there the best team in the state and we are just that much better than them but thats probably not the case.

Nice scrimmage tonight for Blackman against BGA. Blackman was up 6-1 when I left. Matt Williams looked really good at QB. I believe he has won that position. Running game didn't do much with 1st teamers however Dee Mathers did not play or dress for some reason. Anyone know why? Passing game was impressive. Cousins is gonna be really good offensively and defensively. Defense was steady. Nothing really stood out too much but we looked pretty good. We did miss an extra point and we can't kick into the end zone like we have in the past. I don't believe we ever punted so I didn't get to see that. I've heard we've been shaky there in other scrimmages so I would've liked to see us punt to see what that looks like.

Next scrimmage Tuesday at home. Is this right?

Thanks. Great update. I appreciate the detail for both sides. #9 is Quindell Cousin. I expect big things from him this year at defensive end as well as receiver. Hope we get our snapping situation figured out quick. Good luck Green Wave this year and Go Blaze!
