No coacht, Thats better then what I was thinking...already one step ahead.

I'm not ragging on BGA. But they do not have Sodderquist...last year they made several 35+ field goals, that they aren't as good at this year. Sodderquist was also a great returner, kick off guy, and receiver. They also do not have their best player in MLB Johnson. #88 was the best linebacker last year...I don't know why Hickerson is up for this award, he is not very good, and he even admitted it to my face last year. BGA is a solid solid team and they are well coached. They benefited from some very questionable calls last year, but they are a great team...Goodluck, please fill us in on what happens, regardless of who wins or loses.

Currie is the best lineman. I tackled Harlin Hickerson last year and he admitted I got the best of him. Currie is the best, double teams didn't work against him...he was the best lineman I played, and that includes AAA BA lineman King Dunlap.

For those associated with private schools
TheEgoHasLanded replied to CPGB06's topic in Public-Private Debate
The TSSAA board does not have any private school graduates on their board, and are unable to sympathize with what the private schools go through...theres on problem with it. Also, they made the D2-AA teams play two games in football against D2-AAA teams, as well as a cross state game against another D2-AA team that is not in their region...thats two reasons. -
A D2 Question 4 private supporters
TheEgoHasLanded replied to TheEgoHasLanded's topic in Public-Private Debate
I KNOW there was a rule that said if you repeated junior high school then you had to sit out one year as either a senior or a ninth grader...I know two friends that did that, one is now playing college soccer. -
Harding played BGA very close last year at BGA. There were three very questionable calls in that game, some were even submitted to the TSSAA. BGA is very good, but their special teams and defense are not nearly as good as they were last year. I think Harding will hold their own, and it would not surprise me at all if Harding beat them. Good luck to both teams.

A D2 Question 4 private supporters
TheEgoHasLanded replied to TheEgoHasLanded's topic in Public-Private Debate
I never said it was for athletics, My two neighbors go to MUS...I live one mile from there...it does happen. I honestly don't care that it does, they are classy individuals and I wish them no ill will...but they do intentionally hold their kids back, I was more wondering why they did this, and if anyone else did this. Can you imagine if Antoinne Owens was held back another year? -
Rollred, Chakra, and possibly a few other private school supporters could possibly answer this question for me. MUS has an elementary feeder program called "PDS" I think it stands for Presbyterian Day School. They intentionally hold their boys back one grade level as pre-schoolers. So when the kids are seniors in high school...all of them are either 18 or 19. This is a fact, I assure you...my question is, Do any other schools do this in private schools? It is an obvious advantage and I assure you it is true. I played aau basketball, and many of these kids were not able to play on the same level as me, although they were in the same grade (obviously they were two old)! Imagine if your son was able to repeat the 12th grade, and see how good he would be. Do any other schools do this?

Is Trousdale County Coach Satterfield Scared of th
TheEgoHasLanded replied to WarriorFan's topic in Public-Private Debate
I wish we would have like three or four threads, instead of thirty or forty saying the same thing...perhaps we could talk about small rural schools, Trousdale, etc on one thread, instead of about 15. I think both sides make good points...I am glad there is a split. -
ELA, I hope for the best for you and your team.

I know many people, like myself, try and search for webpages involving particular sports teams and schools. Maybe there is enough interest to have a page, that has links to schools websites, as well as personal fan page websites (similar to what collinwood does). Maybe all the fans could post their schools webpage, and people could go to them if they felt like it. I believe the interest would be there...and it doesn't seem like it would be that hard. Just a thought.

yeah, it's about winning
-
Hate to tell you, but just cus you can AFFORD to go to a school... doesn't mean you can get in...you have the right to get in to a private school, but you still have to pass tests and other things softballer. Softballer, you make it seem like private schools are heaven on earth.

I just wanted to say that I think both comments by both parties were very excellent. Good job guys.
-
One could say the publics have been better then the privates in Pennsylvania as well. Central Bucks West High School won a state record 59 games in a row...I believe 4 state titles as well...although I think the last two state champs have been private, but I am not sure. Publics are definitely better then privates in Mississippi, I'm not even going to comment on that anymore, cus there is no debate on that at all.

Actually, Hickerson won't be there next year. Ryan Karl and Greer Bickley will be there though.
-
lol, I swear, I voted for every game every week, but some how the votes were lost...no complaints here, I'm just glad to have a computer and use this site, but you are lucky to be 1 up Rowdy Roady.

Matt Shelton was the fastest guy I ever heard about. They said he ran a legit 4.29 forty, three years ago from Collierville. Unfortunately, he tore his ACL, and then the first time back testing out his leg he ran a 4.39 or something like that. I know it sounds ludacrous, and perhaps it is, but the Commercial Appeal says he ran it, and he now plays for Notre Dame and my friend said he was the fastest guy on the team by far. When yall list guys, can you please list any awards they might have gotten, and what they are doing now? Thanks.

I played St. Benedict for four straight years...and each time we scored at least 42, and they never scored more then 14. I dont think they have the athletes that many of the other schools have. I will say that I think they have the one of the biggest offensive lines EVERY YEAR. I mean sometimes their lines are really big, but their offensive lines are usually pretty soft. I wish them well, but I do not see them ever beating MHA, ECS, or BCS anytime soon.

My opinion has completely changed. It went from hoping they stay together, to hoping they split. I am willing to compromise, even though I do have an ego

Some interesting things from the meetings
TheEgoHasLanded replied to Chakra20's topic in Public-Private Debate
I'm sorry I am not logical and neither are my ideas or thoughts. I hope they split them, they goes to 3 classes and the 1a schools become up close and personal with Alcoa, Sweetwater, Trousdale, and many other schools...that's all I want for Christmas, cus I am sick of hearing the complaints and the privates have proved they are better academically, and according to many, athletically as well. -
What does that have to do with my comment about Byrd, Victory, Ward...perhaps I am still a neophite?
-
So Mark Byrd Jacob Victory John Ward can succeed but we just don't talk about them because they don't go to private schools. Those are some right there...Byrd and Ward are getting looks from UT.
-
When I was a neophite and a begginer to this site, I came on here and blatently accused CPA as well as Ezell-Harding of recruiting. I thought it was stupid to believe that homegrown D1 talent would just magically wind up at a particular school. I had much to learn, and realized that there were inherent differences between public and private school kids. As Volunteer General said, many public schools have more african american kids who are, on the average, better athletes. Throughout my 4 years of playing varsity football, we only lost 1 game out of 25 games to a public school. We beat 4A MS teams, 4A TN Teams, and some 2 and 3A schools. The only difference is the fact, that the interest at the 4A schools is not as great as it is at other schools. Look at Bolton and White Station High School. The last year both of these schools won a combined 2 games. In fact, we beat them 31-0 last year, and this year we beat them 15-14. Bolton knocked off Whitehaven despite losing every game last year. The key is the fact that interest is there at these particular schools and now many students, players, teachers, and parents have decided to make the team a success. Bolton lost every game last year, and now they are 8-2 and beat Houston. Turnarounds happen when everyone decides to change it. The key is the interest in the program. No one wants to play for a team when they are unappreciated and not thought of highly. Every kid in the world would love to play for a team like Maryville and be a part of a successful program. But not many people want to play on a team that is average to poor. Perhaps, CPA and Ezell got sick of losing, and new coaches, new players, and a new attitude helped them gain success.

Yeah we understand...you keep ************** about losing, and how it is always the private schools fault, but you wont say anything about the Lighthouse Christians of the world...why don't we talk about how good Bruceton, Collinwood, South Pitt, Gordonsville, Trousdale County and all of the other 1a schools that have enjoyed success over the last few years.
