  1. Not being disrespectful, but if playing in bigger venues is more fun, then they ought to be playing right here in Knoxville. Think about this: rotate the games each year between Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis. Now somebody tell me why this method wouldn't work, because I can't see why.
  2. LOD, I would say the biggest kickback was Cookeville. When Cookeville and M'boro competed for it 8-9 years ago, didn't Cookeville win because their bid was more?
  3. Don't think Titans stadium is an option. Now if it was domed like Atlanta, Dallas it would be great. Vandy might be best choice with hotels/restaurants close to walking distance. Also, don't think low ball wins, believe T$$AA goes with the one that promises the MOST $$$$$!
  4. Why can't they horseshoe the north end? Is there not enough room because of the track and the street?
  5. Bet Oakland differs with that statement. I thought GQ was going to Furman as the OC. I hear Furman hired some small college coach as there OC. What's the deal with that?
  6. Staying in Cookeville, not a bad drive from Knoxville. I thought TTU was getting a new stadium or at least that was the rumor 2-3 years ago. Does anybody have any info about a new stadium. I do know that APSU completed a renovation project a couple of years ago but don't know seating capacity. Don't think it is as big as TTU, but could be wrong.
  7. Why would all 19 schools be in the private AA class not go to the playoffs? You speak of the past only. Who cares what happened in the past? Better be looking to see what happens in 2017. I can't understand why D2 has 3 classes and not 1 or at the most 2. Don't understand why D1 has 6 when 4 would probably be best for all sports. Don't know why 50% of every playoff gate money goes to T$$AA. I know they pay the officials and the money goes for insurance and other T$$AA B.S., but why is it 50the almighty% and not 33%. I think years ago it was 33% and T$$AA saw a money cow coming down the path and moved it to 50%. Why not pay teams that have to travel out of the 50%, instead of making them pay for travel out of their 25%?
  8. No Einstein, the reason you have a D2 classification is because M'Boro schools didn't like losing to BA. Check out the D2 schools for next year. D2 - A -> 17 schools D2 - AA -> 19 schools D2 - AAA -> 11 schools Einstein, you tell me what schools are not going to the playoffs from D2 A, AA, AAA. My education didn't come from Dutchtown Road, but I do understand common sense! Maybe you ought to do some research before you put your ? in your mouth.
  9. Sure MJ Bears can go to the dance! Now they might have to buy a ticket to get in but they can surely go.
  10. Well, maybe that older, hard-nosed style of coaching needs to change there ways to conform with today's prima donna's.
  11. You have 50 schools in D2, take the top 32. Why is it fair for all privates going to playoffs, not all public's go? Don't even mention the Super 32! That was in the past. In the past have all privates gone to the playoffs? Yep. Will they continue to go to the playoffs? Yep. By the way when will they decided to keep the games in Cookeville or move them to Choo-Choo?
  12. 4 Classes in public and 1 Class in private. Think that would be about 73/74 schools in each public class and 50 or so in the private class. Speaking of privates, will all private schools play there state championship games the same week as the public schools? If that is correct, what happens where you have 11 schools in the largest private school class? Double elimination? LOL. How will the bracket be set up. Looks like there could be 2-3 open weeks with only 11 schools, and I'm including byes in that statement. If that is correct, that is just plain our Forest Gump DUMB to me!
  13. Sounds like there are a number of good shooters in the state. We have seen how many points they have scored, but what about there shooting % from 3 point range and what is there % inside the arc?
  14. I might be wrong, but I believe ALL sports in Georgia are divided into the same classes as football. Can't remember off the top of my head but I think there are 8 classes, and I think they probably have 75 - 100 more schools that play football than we do.
  15. What about 3 public classes, just like basketball, baseball, etc. and then 1 class for privates? Other states do some similar to what Tenn. did the last 2 years. I looked it up and Ga. took the largest 45 schools and put them in a class, then took the smallest 80-90 schools and put them in a class but called it, something like class A large/public and class A small/private. I think the other classes were divided equally. Guess the public & privates plat together in all classes except A. I think their is also a private school league in Ga., all though not positive.
  16. The school that Webb played is private and they co-op with another school that doesn't play football. How can that be right?
  17. Thought I saw a clip of GQ talking to his players and he said, "I assure you someone from this staff will be the next coach at Maryville High School next year." Who has a head coaching background on that staff and how successful were they?
  18. Standards may be set by TDOE, but grading is done by each system isn't it. Some may grade harder or easier than others.
  19. For the next 358 days they will be the 5A state champs, and I ain't even a Farragut fan, but am an Eddie Courtney fan!
  20. Thought PT was earned not requested/demanded.
  21. Wouldn't Clarksville be more of a mid state area than Cookeville? Cookeville has a direct link with I-40, Chattanooga and Clarksville have a direct link with I-24 and Chattanooga also has a direct link with I-75. If coming from West Tenn. I'm guessing their is a problem with a direct link to Clarksville. Cookeville has done a very good job with the games but there stadium is run down. Chattanooga has hosted National Championship games in the past, early 2000's, and I haven't visited there stadium in a while. Both of those stadiums are larger than Clarksville's. Clarksville has the newest stadium of the 3 but when I looked at the website it said 2 different seating arrangements, 7000 and 8000. From the looks of the games from this past weekend, I thought TTU was well over half full for some of the games which would put it ahead of Clarksville. The absolute best site is Nashville/Vanderbilt. Close to hotels/restaurants. If playing at Titans Stadium I can see where that might be a problem, natural grass would not be good if rain like we have had the last 2-3 days and having to play a pro game the next week. We don't we build a domed stadium and that way, no weather problems at all, except maybe driving if a blizzard comes the first weekend in Dec every year!
  22. I thought Coach Creasy had won a state title at another school before going to Oakland. If so this ain't his first bite at the championship apple.
  23. Bet all QB's would love to have 3 seconds to throw the ball. Guess that eliminates the 3 step drop and the quick passing game.
