  1. Out-coached for sure, Loudon's players wanted it more also.a lot of talk about how good you looked, but what it comes down too is talk doesn't win on Friday nights. if they couldn't beat us this year, they should go ahead and follow the baseball team and take us off your schedule as well. just another year of what could have been for lc and the streak is now at 7 !!!!! good job redskins and the coaching staff......
  2. Polk is a Solid team NO Doubt and I have a lot of respect for them and their program...... However, I remember last year the talk wasn't about Loudon it was about getting a shot at Alcoa.... and we all remember how that game turned out. But anyway, to get to Alcoa, your probably going to have to go through Tyner or Howard, then CAK then you will more than likely face Alcoa. (No easy road there) If you guys thought we at Loudon was physical and athletic, just wait until you line up in the trenches with Alcoa....not to mention CAK. I know any given night, these teams can be beat...But you better play an almost flawless game... I do know how Polks "team speed" is....it is no where even close to Alcoa. Polks strength is the physical game.....Alcoa's is both. Hopefully,we make it out of the first round and get to play Aloca....Being rom the same district and playing them twice a year...we know...to get where we want to get to, the road goes through Blount County. But good luck to Polk Friday and keep it going and you will rpobably see both of them..... CAK would suit you guys much better than Alcoa....... CAK Not as physical as last year, but still AN EXPLOSIVE OFFENSE.. Anyway..Good Luck to Polk and congrats on another good year....
  3. Agreed Blaster, I wish we could play each other every year. There is a lot of respect between both of these programs. And in the little league conference, every one loves to see Loudon and Polk come to there place, because we bring the fans and support the teams. I followed this respectful rivalry for 14yrs of little league and there was some very good games even then between these two. Our bunch played Alcoa pretty tough, with a break or two who knows....But they are the best. I have a son graduating this year who has played for 12yrs and he loves to play Polk(much respect). I also have another son that has a couple of years left, I thnk we will be decent next year, but then I am going to worry about us for a year or three. And you are correct, Polk should be good again next year......... Good football, good coaches, good fans and a good team. Hope you have a Happy New Year!!
  4. Sorry Blaster........ being from Loudon and knowing both teams(Polk and Alcoa) well. Be careful what you wish for..... Unless something major happens between know and then, there is no comparison between Alcoa and Polk, this year or next year(except they play in 3A). Sorry those guys were looking ahead, I thought we just thoroughly outplayed you and we didn't even play our best. But yes, Polk should be good again next year, but Alcoa will still be Alcoa.... Loudon could have a shot against Alcoa next year, although we lost several key seniors this year. But if it doesn't happen in 2010, it is not going to happen for a while as Louodn will fall off a little in 2011 and 2012 IMO.
  5. Johnnie, don't get so worked up. You can see from my last post I respect Milan and I think you guys are deserving of playing in the ship... I think it will be a good ball game.......... and to answer your question, we have been where Milan has been.......behind Alcoa.....
  6. I really think it is comical how a lot(not all) of the Milan fans are getting worked up because, in someones opinion, that Loudon and CAK are both as good as Milan. Being a parent of a (senior) player at Loudon, I appreciate the compliments from the fans of Alcoa, our boys have busted there tails off. They are correct in stating that our team along with CAK has had to get better to compete with them, as they are the measuring stick in our region. Could either of us beat Milan? I don't know and we will never find out. I wish we could have went to the middle quad or even to the East, but we didn't and here we are. I will say if you look at our quad in the playoffs....Alcoa, CAK, Loudon, Polk and McMinn Central, Tyner, Bledsoe and Kingston..... If you don't think that was the toughest, then you need to quit drinking whatever you are drinking. I have learned on here over the last four-five years, not many teams have played them close or beat them. If they said someone is a good ball team, they must have done something to earn their respect as most games are blow outs. I personally think this will be a good ball game as Milan is a very, very good team and could pull off the win. But until someone does it, I think Aloca is the better team. As for riding there coat tails, that is a load of "crap". We are pulling for our Region to take care of business....... As we do respect the Alcoa program for what they have accomplished the last 5 years. Good Luck to both teams and congratulations for reaching the finals
  7. Hufstedler, plz see my comment below. "Alcoa, we will be pulling for you against a very, very good Milan team ---Go bring home another state title." You are correct, Milan isn't too shabby....
  8. I guess the Betsy fans figured out what us Loudon and CAK fans were trying to tell you guys last week. I simply made a quote about how Alcoa has always had the athletes, but how physical there line was this year. In which one of the Elizabethton fans took offense to and wrote a paragraph about this and about that.(Whining) Well I hate to say we told you so, but we told you so. We normally play them twice a year so we knew, until you play them YOU DON'T KNOW. We (Loudon) played them just about as good as we could play them. But we knew to beat them, we would have had to play to near perfection and catch a few breaks along the way, which didn't happen. So congratulations to Elizabethton on a fantastic year. And as someone said last week. Only Region 4 teams BEATS Region 4 teams(Loudon, CAK and Alcoa) Alcoa, we will be pulling for you against a very, very good Milan team ---Go bring home another state title.
  9. Thanks mom....We will be pulling for you guys.....
  10. When you play teams with excellent defenses like CAK and Loudon, you are not going to run up huge scores, particularly when the teams are as familiar with Alcoa's offensive tendencies as these two. Alcoa played each team twice this season and has played one or both of the teams twice per season for the past 5 years. There aren't a lot of secrets among these three teams. You might get an argument from elsewhere in the state, but it's my opinion that District 4 is home to 3 of the top 8 3A teams this year - Alcoa, CAK, and Loudon. This season CAK and Loudon both may have their best teams of the past five years. So, rather than being surprised by the scores, I kind of expected the games to go pretty much the way they went. When you play good competition, you will not always dominate. Well said Chauncey, Alcoa, Loudon and CAK are probably all three in the top 6 to top 8. We do know each other well, Alcoa just always seems to have that depth and the athletes to pull out these games. The one thing people seem to forget about Alcoa, is how physical they are. They have always had athletes, but this bunch is very, very physical.
  11. First, I would like to say what a good ballgame it was on Friday night. Before the game, I think all of us Loudon fans would have took a 7-3 game in the fourth quarter. It was a heartbreaking loss, as the boys really thought they could win this game, but they left it all out on the field which is all you can ask. You guys have had a great season!! Second, I would like to say thanks to Alcoa and there fans for the sportsmanship and their passion. This is not only the way the team carries itself, but for the fans of Alcoa as well. You guys are truly a great team and a first class organization. Now go win another state title........ Third, I would like to thank the coaching staff at Loudon High School, the fans and the seniors. I have known most of the seniors for many years now, many of them have played for several years with my son. You guys are a good group of kids, with lots of heart and you have showed great leadership both on and off the field. Enjoy your last year of highschool and make the best of it. Take what the coaches have taught you and go make a difference in the world. Fourth,To "MY" senior as I am a parent.... In the blink of an eye it seems like; 12 yrs of football gone by (Poof)........You left it on the field Friday night, which is the way you always played and the way I knew you would on Friday. Congratulations on a fine year and I am very ,very proud of you. The time really does fly by as most of you know. My son, may play some college ball of some sort, but who knows. Most seniors at any school, will never play another game of football after there last one as a senior. So to the parents of all underclassmen, enjoy the trips, enjoy the games, the practices and the friendships you develop. It will go by very, very fast.........(In the blink of an eye) So Good Luck Alcoa, bring another one home. And Good Luck to all the Loudon seniors in whatever path you choose, but most importantly, in the game of life..... You guys are a great group and should be proud....
  12. I sure hope it is not 56 -7. I would like to think with the way we have played defense all year, it wouldn't be easy for anyone to hang "50" on us. If you play it on paper, Alcoa wins easily, I guess we are fortunate, the game isn't played on paper. We will match up with them in the trenches, they do have more speed and playmakers than Loudon. Loudon is playing pretty well right now, but Alcoa is Alcoa............So by us playing tonight, at least we have a "shot". Who knows, a break here and a break there...........maybe a couple of more breaks.....Effort from Loudon doesn't concern me, we will be physical and play hard, hopefully Loudon brings there "A" game and executes, so all of us fans can enjoy a good ballgame. I hope all have a safe trip to the game tonight and I hope it is a good one. Here is to an injury free game for both sides. Regardless of the outcome tonight, I will be pulling for our Region to win the state.............
  13. Being that I am a Loudon supporter(since my son plays there), I do not feel like we are a #7 seed either. I know why we are as we finished 3rd in our region, however, 3rd in our region doesn't mean we couldn't place 1st in many other regions. I know wht the TSSAA places teams geographically, it is to hold down the cost of travel. I really wish you could seed the whole state by classification and play it out. On the other hand, lets take a Johnson Co possibly having to travel to Milan or Wwestview and they win, then have to go back the next week.(I am only speaking as for the number of miles) It would be hard to make a team travel 6 hrs two weeks in a row for a playoff. But if you take our quad, I honestly believe we had 6 of the top 12 teams in our class in this one quad.......... If the winner comes form this quad, which it probably will, I would have to say they earned it this year.....(As in most)
  14. Now for the ballgame.......... I think we knew we could run the football against Polk as we had pretty much done that in our scrimmage......... So that was not surprising to me. Polk played with great heart and intensity, very physical, which was no surprise. I thought we were by far the more physical team tonight though, not only on the line but all around. I respect the Polk team and organization very much, you guys had a great year and shuold be very proud of your accomplishments.
  15. Polk is very disciplined, they only average maybe 2-3 penalties a game. BTW you should be thankful for just 8 or 9. Your RB #5 was falling forward on every play the first half anticipating the snap. I'm not whining your line beat us on both sides of the ball and the better team won last night. You should have had at least one unsportsman like for a player pushing after the play then yelling at the ref in the third quarter. I don't like to complain about refs, it is a hard job and I wouldn't want it. But you cannot honestly believe one team has 5 holding calls and the home team has none, this could be called every play if they wanted too. But then again, I believe those guys were from Monroe County, what do you expect.....
  16. Thanks GVK, Good Luck to you guys as well. The streak has to end sometime doesn't it? Maybe it will be tonight or next week. Here's rooting for District 4 to the Gold Ball..........
  17. Hope both teams play to there abilities and enjoy an exciting, injury free ballgame. We will try to go down and rep our district well in benton tonight........ Maybe next week we can join someone and eat bandburgers or some nanner puddin.......depending upon who wins
  18. Gee, you're a Thinskin instead of a Redskin. If it gives you a good warm feeling to play Polk better than Central did, then go for it. I thought the object of the game was to win....not outperfom what another team did. You are correct Buc.....We will be disappointed if we don't win and that is what we expect to do. I still just cannot figure out how they gave up 49 points to them, Central is better than that. Hopefully we will win tonight and CAK will win, and we can hookup with FBD and GVK AND BREAK BREAD next week. But only if you take the Thinskin comment back.....
  19. I have been ready for this game all week long.......... I think it is going to be a great ball game, maybe the best one around. If you look at common opponents, types of offense and defense, both teams are very similiar: Loudon Polk 14 10 Bradley 17 10 36 7 Kingston 29 0 45 0 Sweetwater 42 6 42 0 Sequoyah 31 0 Even in our scrimmage we scored everytime (4 scores)against Central, they had one score. Polk had a good game against Central obviously by the score, although I know Central had penalties and turnovers. So I think we are very, very much alike. With that being said, my prediction for tonight is: Loudon - 24 Polk - 23 Blocked X-Point. I hope both teams have a safe trip and injury free ballgame.
  20. BlitzinBuc, No love for the Redskins huh..........17 or more,14 or more. We may not win as Polk is a very, very good ball team. I think it will be closer than 14 points, but I will go on record and state, we will not give up 49 points like the Chargers did earlier in the season................ I hope both teams play to their abilities and have an exciting, injury free game.
  21. Agreed about Alcoa.........Its not just hype.... You can disect it any way you want to. But they have 5 straight championships, undefeated this year. Athletes everywhere and very, very physical.. they know how to win,no way is it just hype... I do hope we(Loudon) get the chance to play them again though......
  22. Sorry, but that's not the case. Just like it was said earlier, Polk has scrimmaged Loudon this year and respects them. Just because we have some overly-confident fans, doesn't mean that's how the team thinks. I can tell you it will be closer than 17 points. Anybody that knows football should know it will be a close game. Agreed Polk, I think it will be a tough, tough contest. My son, he has played against these boys from Polk for 12yrs now and we have the utmost respect for Polk County, they have always been physical and hard nosed. Polk has always been a top notch program both on and off the field. Heres hoping for a fine, injury free ballgame for both sides Friday night. "What a Quad we got put into''. I wish we could have went to the middle......
  23. WOW. 17 pts or more.............. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, I would think it would be closer than that, but oh well, its only opinions right? I guess we will see on Friday night....... I hope the football team is looking forward to Alcoa or CAK as much as the fans are.
  24. I am on here excited about our Redskins traveling to Polk and the rematch between CAK and Alcoa. But when I read about the accident, I will refrain from football talk today. FBD, GVK and all the players and fans of CAK. Please know that us in Loudon, that our hearts and prayers go out to this young man and the rest of his family.
