Hopefully i get to get up there this year and watch this team play... But your alls expectations seem a little high. We have heard all over east tennessee howd gosh darn good the upcoming senior class is... and we have all just been so gosh darn un impressed with them since they moved up to varsity ball. This class will once and for all prove they have been nothing but talk. This team is undersized and lacks knowledge of the game, well on the offensive side atleast. I just dont see it happening for this team. Im sorry, i really try to but i cant. Everyone knows how to stop you all. Put 8 in the box and send them all. 90 percent of the time your going to be successfull doing that against ur run priority offfense. And as for last years Qb throwing for over 1000 yards. HAHA. There have been qbs at that HS do way better than that. and throw for way more TD's as well. Zach long has been the best qb the last three years, whoever said you put your best athlete at qb, you wrong. Name one team, other than jeff, who had there playmaker at qb. Thats right there were none. Devrin Young for example, does bearden have him at qb? nope. he is distrubuted the ball by the... Oh my goodness thats right the QB. Actually if you watch them play he lines up slot back alot and they do all kinds of things with him. Hmmm i wonder why? Its because Qb's are not meant to be every down playmakers, they are the point guard of football, they distribute and lead... A QB is THE FIELD GENERAL. Now in battle is the General the one you would expect to be firing the bullets and carrying out the operation? No he is directing his troops. A General isnt the best fighter, isnt the most skilled, but he makes quick smart decisions, he is inteligent, calm, cool, collective, and when his men are in trouble he gets them out of trouble. The best are out there in the battle and being directed by their general. Well this is the same just in football and this team needs a General. Someone who is calm, cool, collected, a quick and smart thinker, not the most talented player but one who is most capable of getting the athletes (your best troops) the ball. The troops go as their general goes. So as a team goes as their Qb goes. A team feeds off a Qb whether positive or negative. JCHS will be as good as their General this year. But just remember the commander and cheif appoints his General, and if he dont appoint the right one the results will show. Zach Long has been the closest to a General compared to the last 3 (Mcfall, Darby, Goins) Zach wasnt our playmaker, h we actually had our playmakers at wr and rb and te that year and he distributed the ball and it showed. 6-4 made the playoffs.

DVP4LIFE, sir with all do respect you get on my nerves, You act like a board admin of the Jc thread... Well take my post or leave it. I am not tied in to this program directly. I just know some of the kids on this team, about 5-6 to be exact that all played. I live in east knoxville and I travel and watch teams all over east tennessee play. I attended 3 JC games this year. Morristown East, SD, and i believe it was Bearden. I reached my agruement and expressed it after not even talking to these 5-6 kids first but after i talked to some of Coach Andersons starters in his past 2 seasons. STARTERS. Yeah i said STARTERS! And i hesitated to believe these resources so i consulted the few kids on this team i know that play and they said the same thing... So obviously there is a problem in the area i attacked of lieing/ dishonestness/ and special treatment (I could attack that if i knew exactly the situation but i know of kid on this team that got in some serious trouble with the law and played the last 4-5 games. When a player does something that serious im sorry he might be a great player idk if he was or not but he doesnt play... that is just special treatment, because a player was kicked off this team for a less serious offense during the spring) Special treatment evidence #1 right there and im sure there is more where that goes ......yeah im sure if you have a kid in this program by your quick action of backing of the coaches he might even be a starter i would almost say because you jumped in a hissy fit defending the coaches and players or either your a coach yourself. Im sorry you cant tell yourself and convince me there are not problems. Buddy it sure is funny that you see no problem... because the word is out all over about the stuff that goes on at JC with its athletics and its not only football. You dont think word travels fast but it does. People down here who know how good JC used to be and dont even watch your games talk about it. You must worship Anderson cause in your eyes he is the best coach ever from the way you post.... I never said they were bad coaches, but im not saying they arent either. Ive never played for them (god knows im grateful that he didnt allow me to have to play for such a coach), but i do see the products of these coach on the field. It didnt look all that great im sorry. However, I am saying that the Head Coach is not respected. By alot of players nor by former players nor by alot of fans. 5-5 is not a winning season, Im sorry your coach lied to you in your own paper but A winning season is more wins than losses. I would also like to see the kid i read about in your alls paper.... wide reciever, that is 6'4... Where is that kid at? i read that in the paper this preason and i thought wow this coach talks like this kids pretty good i cant wait to see him... Got to your game never seen such a player. I asked around in the stands i thought he might have been hurt but i found out the tallest kid on the team was 6'2 and doesnt even play wr. The tallest wide out looked 5'11....... So Another lie. Whats wrong with telling the truth? It comes out eventually anyway. And if you just find some of the players there now or his former players im sure they would glady tell you some goodies Sometimes people like you have hard times accepting the truth about things... Again not saying he needs to be fired, but stuff has to change its going to be just a regular ole typical jeff co season of the last decade once again nxt year. Have a nice day!

There is no doubt talent on this JC team... But I heard a retired college coach say, it doesnt matter how much talent you have if that talent cant be developed... Well thats the case here. Plenty of talent, its just not being developed. JC is always projected to to better than they perform. Its because they truly have athletes and talent on the field. These same kids beat the morristown teams and all the other teams when they were in middle school.. No excuse why they arent winning in high school. Starts at the top in my opinion with the head coach, and there is evidence of problems there... the Head Coach has to earn the players respect if he expects players to give him everything they have and thats obviously not getting done and I beleive it has to do with alot of lies/dishonestness/special treatment to certain players.... If the kids dont trust you and you treat the players bad you wont have a good football team. Alot of people throughout the community have seen this as well. If you dont think the coach lies just ask his players/former players and how he treats them after they are gone. Ive personally talked to some of them.

Okay here is something I dont do often... But Im going to agree with OHS. JC does have a CHANCE. Yes he is right.... somewhat. What OHS failed to mention was that chance is like at the most a 10% chance but actually prob. less of a chance than that. Oh BTW OHS, ATROCIOUS you said? I appologize for my carelessness typing in my last post and 2-3 words got scrambled. Darn your just so inteligent and you know so much about football if we could all just be like you I failed to realize we were writing dignified English papers here on a comment board. And in return to your response on my post about the cowbells, you talked around my opinion. Typical. My statement was saying yeah bring cowbells thats great, but why is a huge sign needed? Thats what I reffered to as ignorant and embarrassing. Also Im so glad your proud of your 1a oneida high school as stated by another poster. Go cheer for them in the playoffs because JC wont be in the post season. Have a nice day!

Wow. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed , did you? So much negativity......You are totally whacked out crazy about Scott Meadows cause everyone knows that he has as much loyalty to a program as Saban! And to diss this JCHS team is pure mean and unfair. They have worked hard all year and fought their hearts out. Coming back from 0-4 is amazing and they gave the two top teams in the conference a fight! Why don't you go hang out with Meadows...He will kick you to the side soon! Not quite. I wake up and touch with reality unlike you and some others. Wow coming back from 0-4 is amazing? Come on lets be real please.You came back from 0-4 by beating teams that are simply sub par.East is the only real win of your guys season. In all due respect i cant stand the fact that some people like to just act as if everything is good and dandy. Well wake up and see reality. This has not been a successfull season and neither was last season. Another note...This district with sevier, west, east, jc, seymour, cherokee, cocke, and south doyle happened to be one of the easier districts throughout the state of tennessee.

Funny thing is when the junior class now you guys have were freshmen... Their parents thought they were just all of it and should be on varsity... Well they are all starting for the most part from an above comment. It was stated that there are only 4 seniors player the rest are juniors. So where all the all mighty juniors that went underfeated as freshman that were suppose to be so good? HUH? They are so suppose to be the best class to ever come through JC in the last 5 years? Where are they at? OH yeah limping along at 4-5 thats where... And this cowbell thing wow ive never seen such ignorance. Now i could maybe see brigning a cowbell ringing it, by all means yes bring something that makes noise thats not my concern... But CowBell nation? Are you serious? And having a banner for this. And coming from adults too i think it absolutely hilarious and if i were a player on this team i would be embarrassed This is just anohter example of division in this program and it seems to me that there are more than a few of them. Its called be apart of PATRIOT NATION. There are to many groups within the fans and players and this program will never reach the success it once did EVER. There is no one heartbeat with this team. I bleieve thats the moto for you guys right? Well this team obviously doesnt have that. Nor the fans. 4-5 going into the last game, playing one of the worst teams in the state, south doyle at 0-9 yes JC will win it wont mean anything but their coaches and some fans who like decieving themselves into thinking something has been accomplished this season will think they have accomplished something by finsihing 5-5 probably. Reality check for all of you all. COMBINED RECORD OF OPPONENTS WHO THOSE 5 WINS COME AGAINST: 13-23 yeah thats impressive right there. There is no traditon, no passion left in this program like it once was. Its sad to see. JC has not made any turn around since Scott Meadows left and i dont believe it will ever come back to the dominance it used to be. They let Scott get out of their hands and he is by far the best coach JC has had compared to the last two. I would have loved to see what he could have done with the talents of this team. Its honestly sad to see. Goodluck against south doyle as if it even you even need it playing a team at 0-9 and goodluck to the seniors who are playing their last game, especially the ones who have been there for 4 years and stuck it out even through the controversey with Euvarard. It is always a sad night for seniors of any team knowing they are playing there last game

I heard west said they plan on absolutely embarrassing jeff county on live television on their home field and apprently this Jeff team has nothing for MW. The trojans have been talking some smack ever since last year when they beat Jeff.... West has won 3 of the last 4 in this big rivalry game

What is with this woodshed thing Man?? Did your Dad take you there quite often and Do inapropriate things , because you really have a issue with it ? Looks at the stats they tell all. DB has beat their self in pretty much every game, not the other team, So, I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings and takes you back to dark places. You guys capitalized on OUR mistakes. You did nothing special to win. Yes you guys won but, not by being the better team sorry. Take the win for what it is. It doesnt matter if they are just YOUR mistakes they are capitalizing on... You got beat thats all there is to it. You obviously werent the better team on 4 of the last 5 weeks. What you said really burns me up... just be a man and except that you got out played. If you were the best team you would have won... I dont see how you could even say your the better team when making mistakes. All there is to it is at the end of the day is what the score board reads. How longs it been since Db hasnt made the playoffs? they deff arent going to be in them this year. I do know this much about DB football from the tssaa website... DB- State tittles since playoffs began in 1969 - 0

I hope WB doesnt have false hopes after coming back from down 28-0 to beat Jeff County a 0 and 4 team 38-35. That is not saying very much. Catholic wins BIG 45-10

Wow. How do you blow a 28 point lead? I just dont understand how any team could do that. 28 points lead half-way through the 2nd as i understand it and just handed the win over to WB basicaly from what i have read. Turnovers= Losses point blank. You cant win giving opportunities to the oppenent. I am curious how many times did JC lay the ball on the ground? This turnover business happens ... it is a part of football. But every week turning the ball over consistently 3 plus times a game dont get the job done. By what i read if JC could hold on to the football they could have atleast two wins at this point. If you guys could just hold on to the football you will win games. There are no excuses what so ever for laying the ball on the ground. Goodluck against the eagles.

There are people in those stands who have been there since the school was built in the 70's supporting that team which is way longer than you have supported them obviously considering you graduated in 88 from where ever ohs is. You have no right to get on here and tell fans and long time supporters not to come because they get upset on friday nights when they are losing. Seriously, do you expect fans to be happy or something when they lose? Jefferson County feeds off football and the people EXPECT to win.The tradition of ole Jeff County football is about gone. People who moved in from the outside just dont understand the tradition and legacy. Everybody used to know about Jeff Co. People used to fear playing Jefferson County. Jefferson County was all over the news all the time during football season. People in Knoxville still ask what is wrong with you guys? You used to be a powerhouse. Jeff still has talent thats a given but i dont care if your the Florida Gators your not going to win with 5-6 turnovers a game. Ive seen this team play 1 game. Good? Potentially. But they will go no where without holding on to the football. Best of luck to you guys i hope you all turn it around and finish the season on a hot streak.

Greeneville is a nice place to go play. Anywhere you go in the tri-cities is most likely nice places to go play. That is just a football breathing region... Sevierville is also nice but the only thing unatractive there is the huge dome shape the field seems to have. it may just look bad to me because ive never seen a field like that. I also like Knox Catholic as well as Farragut or however you spell it lol.

OHS i dont think it is exactly a MUST win. Yes it would be a big win for the pats being 0-2 and searching for answers....but they dont have to win this particular game to make the post-season. They do however have to finish ahead of sevierville in the conference. I was just looking at in terms of they both go through the conference and end up with one loss, then it would go back to the head-to-head matchup. So if that ends up being the case the winner friday would be playing in the playoffs.

I guess there is no prediction on this game. Looks like one of the biggest games in east tennessee considering the 6A side of things. Only 1 of these 2 will make the playoffs. They are fighting each other for the 6A out of the imac conference. Should be a great game. Jeff will get atleast 3 points. But hopefully they will get that vier game going and score touchdowns. Sevier is a tough game once again for jeff. they have a tough schedule.

thats a well put comment on pitching the ball. from the game or two last year i happen to see jeff play it was either straight dive or qb keeper. no doubt about it i know jeff has got talent and speed. the split back offense might take off and explode with pitching the ball on the option because its very hard for a defense to defend a triple option attack when it is ran right. and if they have a passing game to balance that they could be tough to defend. goodluck to jeff and bearden tonight. bearden will be a tough game for jeff going into it 0-1. bearden is one of the best down here in knox county in my opinion. someone thats going to this game id like to know the outcome and how the devrin young kid performs against jeff.

Dogs v.s pats....I hope this game turns out to be a good one. If jeff can keep 33 under wraps and move the ball and score points they should atleast keep it close. 33 is the work horse from what ive heard. and Only 3 points last week for jeff , but that happens to be a great defense greeneville has up there. Not sure why jeff couldnt move the ball to score though. Put up 42 easily last year on the same defense. Has the offensive stratedgy changed with the coaching movements i read about or is it still the same as last year? If it is the same there is no excuse for 3 points. That offense should go like a train if operating properly with the talent jeff has over there. They always have talented kids but for the last two seasons it hasnt really showed in the win collumn. I hope jeff can trun it around tho and get to winning and those kids make a legacy for their time as the greats from the 80's did. Goodluck to both teams.

Nice to see the long timed Morristown - Jeff Co rivarly is still alive with the reclassification. Some of the rivalries around east tn got split up unfortunately.East/West vs Jeff Co games are always great games with the hatred between the two as well as east vs west. This should be a good conference by the looks. 4 teams that could all potentially take the tittle with East, west, sevierville, and jeff co.

Should be a great game. Both teams are very talented and evenly matched in my opinion. Is this the first time for clinton to go play in db? if so then i think you have to give db a slight edge. Home Field advanatge is always a factor. DB is a intimidating place to go play with the mosterous band and crowd. The tribe march they do in pre game is also kinda intimidating. Its a tough place to go play especially for a team who has never played there.
