Having been around football (family coaches, playing, and coaching) for A LOT of years, I can honestly say I take notice when a call goes my teams way. It doesn’t typically make me a crowd favorite when I say it either. I wasn’t necessarily saying they all went against me there, just that it was bad.

The officiating at Bartlett wasn’t any better last year and Collierville this year. Come to think of it, I don’t think I’ve been to a game from Jackson west thought I thought was good. I’m not saying it affecting the outcomes, but bad officiating is bad officiating any way you look at it.

Region 6 sweeps. Region 5 may be the weakest region in 5A.

That’s my take as well. I think Cookeville played an appropriate schedule. Siegel’s was brutal. I don’t think I would let the 7-3 v 5-5 records be deceiving. Siegel will be one of the more talented teams Cookeville has played this year.

Im not knocking Cookeville, but their schedules aren’t even close.

Cobbins is good. I don’t think he is used appropriately or enough to win an award like this though.

If he’s close to healthy, I think Hendersonville wins. I think Henry County and Beech win. Springfield has a shot, but will have to play perhaps their best game of the season.

A few things: 1) The all time record isn’t relevant to my statement. I’m talking about this year. 2) I never said that Siegel would win. My statement was in reference to Siegel missing Santel and having a shot without him. 3) I think Cookeville wins this one, but I’d say it’s far from a given.

I’m not saying they are going to win it all, I just find it ridiculous so many are saying they have no shot.

I love all the excitement around Bradley and Germantown. It’s usually this time of year that everyone says Oakland/Maryville. Now everyone is counting both Oakland and Maryville out. Maryville is down a bit for sure and Oakland isn’t last years Oakland team, but to say either of these programs doesn’t have a shot is ridiculous. Oakland has lost one game to a TN public school not named Maryville in the last seven years. Don’t count them out.

I implied it. I said it. I stand by it. The officiating in West TN is terrible. The officiating in the playoffs last year in Memphis was terrible. I know they are supposed to be from outside the area and/or neutral, but when you have a Middle TN team and West TN team, where do the officials come from? Jackson? The officiating there isn’t any better.

Maybe, but I think Siegel still has more athletes.

Don’t count on it. I think they have a difference rule book in Memphis.
