If Barrett wants the job, he deserves it. No question about it. The man didn't kill someone, steal money, or abuse children. He deserves a second chance and will do a great job. Only reason Lebanon shouldn't hire him is if they are afraid of winning a lot of basketball games!

And maybe the school system gives teachers at least 20 sick days per year. They will be needed

Don't blame the coach, blame the T$$AA for making this a meaningless game. The coach is hired and fired for wins and losses, and I'm not talking about wins and losses in consolation games. If he feels this is the best strategy to help his team reach it's ultimate goal, and if his players know his intent, then I'm pretty sure he could care less what people on a message board or booing in the stands think.

Here's the matchups for this year's tournament: Dec. 27 @ 10:00 - Waverly vs. Columbia; 1:00 - Spring Hill vs. Kenwood; 4:00 - Dickson vs. Liberty Tech; 7:00 - Hickman vs. Harding Academy Games will continue on Dec. 29 & 30 starting at 10:00 each morning.

Fairview vs. East Hickman in play-in game on Wednesday. Satellite games starting on Friday: Spring Hill vs EH/Fairview, Page vs. Lewis, Marshall vs. Hickman, Summit vs. Giles. Tournament moves to Spring Hill and Marshall County on Saturday.

Hickman County

Spring Hill and Page should have great pitching and be right in the thick of things. Spring Hlll will probably be the pick to win the district because of starting pitching, coaching, and consistency over the past 4-5 years. They have become a great program. Page also has top line pitching, the x factor is how the coaching change will affect the team. Summit will be even better with a year's experiece under their belts. Lewis was pretty young last year, to the best of my knowledge, so they should be improved as well. Not sure about Giles, especially with a coaching transition to go through. Hickman lost a couple of quality seniors, but still return a significant portion of the lineup if their pitching can keep them in games. East Hickman actually has the same coach for the 3rd year in a row, so that alone should create some stability and help the program. Not sure about what kind of pitching East or Fairview has, and if it is good enough to keep them in the games in a tough district. Marshall lost several key seniors from last year, including Reese and Verner, but they are still Marshall County and will no doubt be right in the race.

It is posted on the TSSAA website's bulletin board, listed along with a science position. Might be tough to find a coach/science teacher this far into the school year.
