  1. Peabody is just too strong on the defensive side of the ball.
  2. Elizabethton is the real deal. Congrats to Haywood on a great season.
  3. Absolutely horrible, tragic, and deeply saddening news. Prayers to the Coalfield community and the family.
  4. This is a tough game to predict. I think it will be low scoring. I'm going 17-10 Peabody.
  5. Would anyone be shocked if Teddy showed up at Humboldt?
  6. I think this is correct. A turnover late and some silly penalties cost HC a title in a seesaw battle.
  7. Milan keeps it close for 1 quarter. The floodgates open midway through the second and the Naders cruise to the finish.
  8. Two very talented and deserving teams in the semifinals. As I stated earlier, I think Lexington uses the same game plan Ripley used. Run the ball, keep Tomcat offense off the field. They had a lot of success, Lexington should be even better equipped. Ripley's defense forced 3 turnovers last week and should have had another. Haywood can't turn the ball over like that in this game. Lexington likewise can't afford to give Haywood any extra possessions. They will make you pay. This one may very well come down to who has the ball last. Should be a great game. I'll be watching on the radio.
  9. Who the posters may be overlooking is irrelevant. I can assure you Shane Jacobs and his staff are not overlooking anyone.
  10. As I no longer play or coach, I don't belong to a team. I can assure you "my team", in the context I believe you mean, is still playing. Not sure how that's relevant to the conversation. I guess you're taking a shot at me? Granted I took one at Springfield for hijacking this thread, so it's cool. I'm glad you enjoy my picks.
  11. It's the penalties. It's bound to catch up with them. It's certainly not a commentary on their talent. The boys are good. Also, I don't recall actually picking Ripley over Haywood. (Maybe I did, I say a lot of crap) I just knew it would be a better game than most expected. Good things are happening down there. I can tell by the community support I see building while in town.
  12. I'm picking Lexington in this one. I think they use much of the same formula Ripley went with and win a tight ball game. Additionally, I'm absolutely certain Springfield will not win this one. Good grief.
  13. Beliefs are neat, but not all of them should be shared publicly. Alcoa ALL day. Also, you may want to get by Milan first. That ain't a given.
  14. Very intriguing game. PC offense vs Milan D is going to he a battle. By rule, I must go with the team with the better Defense. Gimme the Purple dogs in a catfight.
  15. Congrats to the Bullfrogs and a tip of the hat to SGC.
  16. Well I almost nailed this one. Defently was a classic. Congrats to the Tigers and a tip pf the hat to Hardin Co.
  17. Gosh, I love playoff football! Congrats to Peabody and a tip of the hat to McKenzie.
  18. Now who would have thought, the Tomcats and the Tigers had themselves a DOG fight. (See what I did there) Congrats to Haywood and a tip of the hat to Ripley.
  19. Negative. These kids have A) never played in and/or never won a quarter final. So no impact.
  20. I would never count those South Gibson kids out. They're tough as nails and have some excellent coaches. You're correct though, Milan is GOOD. Defense is pretty special. LB play is off the charts.
  21. If someone had made this statement about Milan vs Alcoa you would be in your feelings right now. Most folks on here believe Milan has the same advantages you speak of against South Gibson, yet nobody is giving the Hornets "zero chance." That would be foolish. We also understand Ripley may be outgunned. SO WHAT.
