  1. Thank you "just do it" for your intelligent post. I would like to enourage all the "experts" to stop voicing their uninformed opinions. If you don't have a dog in the fight, then stop fueling this fire. I think the best course of action is: 1. Let things play out. 2. That's it. I guarantee he will not make a major mistake while at UT. And if he does, you can bet your bottom dollar that the UT administration and Lane Kiffen will kick him to the curb faster than you can say "Rocky Top." Go home "oppressed." We all know your trying to make up for a certain stiff-arm to your middle linebacker...it wasn't personal, it was just football. BTW, did you count that as one of his 7 receptions!?!? Haha, stop hating...Go Irish!
  2. Daniel is a great young man, and I am confident that he will be a superb witness to the whollistic education Knoxville Catholic touts. I know he will be a great representative of KC and UT in the future. With regard to our "5 D-1 players," that may have been an overstatement. However, in recent weeks DB Nick Branum has signed with Alabama (yes, the Alabama), RB Jordan Howanitz has signed with the University of Indainapolis (not D-1, but still a fine opportunity to play at the next level), RB Zach Vann has committed to Maryville College (also not D-1, but still impressive for someone who didn't play more than 1 quarter this season) and P Evan Sanders has chosen to to accept a preferred walk-on position for Coach Lane Kiffin at UT. In addition, LB Luke Smith has committed to academic powerhouse University of Chicago. There may be a few more commitments for KC still in the making... Congratulations to all these fine young men. Good luck and keep making us proud! Go Irish!
  3. Oh, ye of little faith: fightin03 got a Hummer-full of accolades! (Including a State ring!)
  4. I can confirm this story. He just told the team less than 10 minutes ago. He will be coaching and serving as the athletic director at West Laurence High School in Dublin, GA. Thoughts?
  5. Our northerly neighbors seem to be a little jealous (34, shining state rings, adequate spelling ability). Let's try to keep this thread clean--that goes for everyone...who am I kidding?...I love hearing cheap shots from a bunch of KC wanna-be's. AC had an excellent season: 2nd place in region 2-3A is nothing to hang your head about. Just look at it this way: out of all the losers you guys were the best!
  6. I won't type for long, because when I do, my arm gets tired: after all, I have a big stinkin' state ring on my finger! However, I do wish to respond to those who doubt the KC system...Catholic football is winning football, and they will be successful this season. Nobody thought we would do anything in 2008 after losing so many valuable seniors the year before; but we stepped up to the plate and came out on top every Friday night (and one Saturday in December!). In addition, Catholic football is not pretty football, nor is it flashy football. Coach Pemberton produces great teams of players, not great individual players--hence, few "D-1" prospects have signed in recent years (and keeping in mind that this year's signing period isn't over). My prepiction for 2009: another November run at a State Championship. My advice to KC players: "Always remember we're 15 and 0! (Whistle with me!)"
  7. I'm sorry, I can't hear you...I've got a gold ball in my ear! To all the Catholic haters and Knoxville Catholic High School haters: stop hating on Catholic. We don't recruit, we just win. If y'all keep going, Passion of Christ really will need a sequel! Haha.
  8. Well boys, it's the end of an era. As KC moves up and moves on, I'd like to thank the players and fans of our opponents for giving it their all. I've enjoyed every minute of it and will be cheering for the teams of former Region 2-3A in the coming years. Go Irish and go Region 2-3A!
  9. There's no need to keep anonymity or unbiasedness any longer...I've got a ring and a gold ball! Here are my takes on the season, game and message board: 1. How can an undefeated team be undeserving of a state title? 2. I'm disappionted that Maryville lost. I wanted Catholic to be the team to end the streak next season. 3. I can't wait for the Catholic/Webb basketball game this winter. Look for me: I'll be the one in the blue "State Champions" hat. 4. We won the "Irish way" this season: discipline and selflessness (and luck). 5. Mitchell's running back was unstoppable. I know first hand. 6. We can't help it if non-Catholics want to play for a championship-calliber team. 7. The booster club is niether cocky nor overconfident. Only two parents had 15-0 T-shirts under their sweatshirts. The NewsSentinal exaggerated. 8. Stop hating. 9. Sacred Heart, St. Joe's... 10. We're a young team. Look for us to make some noise in 5A next year. There's a fresh set of teams who don't know what's about to hit them!
  10. Thanks ruse?, we look forward to your wisdom; one last point for the day: Average margin of victory: KC: 21.53 WH:22.83 (excluding the Alcoa game) Niether team "barely won most of their games." I was a Statistics minor, also. Haha
  11. Ruse?, hogan, choke, Irish, HappyHour or anyone: can you please get us back on topic?
  12. Dear Dandy82, I truly apologize for my lack of membership in the CoachT "good ol' boys' club." I was unaware that one had to be a member of this establishment for a given amount of time before one had the privilege of posting one's opinions. In addition, I am not an English major--I was a Rhetoric and Literature major--nor am I a volunteer for the spelling police--I am actually the founder and Chief Executive. Furthermore, I do not condone behavior so dubbed by fellow posters as "hating." Finally, I would like to compliment you on your wonderful use of the word "disparage;" I comend you for your commitment to scholarship. Sincerely yours, East P.S. Seriously though, let's keep this thread focused on the game! Haha
  13. Alcoa hasn't played Knox Catholic in a real game. However, in the spring of 2006 or 2007, the two teams squared-off in a spring game. For what it's worth, KC won the scrimmage by a touchdown. Once again, that's a spring scrimmage from two years ago. IMO, having seen both teams play this year, the two 2008 squads are very similar. Just as an aside, KC's cheerleaders could definately take Alcoa's! Haha!
  14. TropicalStorm, I like your vibe. Reading these posts, after weeding out all the D-1 and spelling nonsense, I realize the way to beat WH is a disciplined ground game. What does KC have? A discipled ground game. BTW RockHudson, if you've got something positive to add to the conversation, by all means contribute; but if you don't, go back to the Kingston film and stay off the boards, please. Good luck to all the players! Who wants it more?
  15. Yeah, it does make SENSE.....just think about it.
  16. Please stop the negativity. Like "ruse?" said, that's the kind of stuff that gets this privilege taken away. Plus, can we start using a dictionary or spell check or reference an elementary school teacher? AND STOP WITH THE ALL CAPS! It's upon us...Who wants it more?
  17. Someone really knows what their talking about. Thanks for shedding light on a situation very few know the truth about. Maybe now people will stop spreading lies.....Nah. The ignorant will somehow find a way to warp what you've said. Good luck to all the players! And stop the hating.
  18. First of all, though they may have done, "jack sht" against AC, Catholic did win, and in the playoffs all you have to do is stay alive. Those screen passes were enough to move KC to the next round. Second, there's no instant replay in high school football, so I don't think anyone is going to care that "someone has come forward with video" prooving something that happened 10 days ago because TSSAA can't do anything about it now. Third, there's no need to spread rumors (and I credit you for calling it as such) on a thread. Now uninformed people (like Choke) are going to take it as fact. Lastly, stop hating on KC and WH. Just because people who know nothing about either team come on here and pick KC or WH in a blowout does not mean that that KC or WH communities are looking past this game. Like I've said before. I expect this to be a well-fought, defesive battle. You have to play good defense, run the ball and stop the run to be a championship team. Whichever team does this in Friday's game will come out on top. Good luck to all the players! And, in conclusion, can we please keep these boards positive and insightful?
  19. Hey Playoffs, stop hating on KC. You sound a little bitter. This isn't your big brother's Catholic football team. They're a multi-dimensional, hard-nosed, run-it-till-the-cows-come-home, special type of team. With that said there's no way Coach Pemberton will let his boys have their heads in the clouds. Plus, you don't get to 13-0 (out of the toughest 3A region in the state) without being well-prepared for your opponents. They'll be ready. Like I said earlier, I expect this to be a great game. Good luck to all the players! And Playoffs, cool your jets.
  20. I'm with Choke on this one. I've seen KC play sveral times this year and I think their defense will see them through in a close, defensive battle. Rain will help KC and this should be a great game in the end. Good luck to all the players! I've got: Catholic-24 White House-10
