Well I've heard that Oakland has called Lassiter every day for the last two weeks trying to get a game and he won't even call 'em back. That could be a great game!

Those are really good pics. Now if you could just get one where at the end of a Smyrna victory, all of the players who haven't played a bit, run across the field and flip off the other team's fans. That would be special! haha

Here's two more jokes for you. Brentwood (district champ) opens up by going to Smyrna (district champ) No benefit for playing tough competition there. Franklin gets a higher seed. Crawford should have forfeited. Gallatin and Hendersonville get to play each other again after playing each other last night.

First of all its obvious that to be the leader of the T$$AA doesn't require you to have the knowledge to read a freakin map. Second, all of the people involved in making the brackets should be ashamed of themselves, and this includes the vaunted Murphy Fair. How is their such discrepancy between Quad 2 and Quad 3. Riverdale gets rewarded for finishing 4th in the toughest region in the state. If they don't make it to the semifinals, Coach A should get fired. Oakland is further east than Riverdale or Lincoln Co. Why not let Smyrna go east? They won the region fair and square. Let them be rewarded and put Riverdale into the cauldron. This whole mess was Ronnie Carter's idea who promptly put it in place and then resigned. He's a joke too. The T$$AA is an embarrasment to all who love high school sports!

Since Tara Davis left Oakland, the girls program has been average at best and at the bottom of the district. Everyone talks about what a great coach JG is. When she has talent she does great. But in my opinion a great coach develops talent. Oakland's girls are not competitive at all in the district. Is this the year Mr. Spurlock makes a change or does he even care? Opinions?

Here's my view on it. Quadrant 1 (pod sounds too sissy) Kingsport DB Sevier Co. Oak Ridge Maryville Farragut McMinn Co Ooltewah Knox Bearden wildcard Quad. 2 Cookeville Coffee co. Riverdale Blackman Oakland Franklin Co. Overton wildcard Independence wildcard Quad 3 Mt. Juliet Dickson Co. Franklin Brentwood Hunters Lane McGavock Rossview wildcard Cordova wildcard Quad 4 Brighton Arlington Millington Germantown Wooddale Kirby White Station Whitehaven Ooltewah and McMinn Co. should be in Quad 2 - however if the T$$AA is looking for closer bus rides they'll go East. The wildcards should have to travel further and be glad to have the opportunity.

Here's an idea.....take the top four Rutherford County teams and put one in each quadrant of the playoff bracket. On the day after Thanksgiving..all four could play in the semi finals at MTSU and the championship held in Cookeville the following Saturday.

Yeah, and I saw some guy named Pearl act like a jackass. He was obnoxious the entire game. I wish he would have been tossed. The game was an embarrassment for OHS. When RHS held the ball for 5 minutes during the 3rd qtr. I couldn't believe it. OHS was down by 19 at that point and wasn't even trying to get back in it. I know Spurlock was there and I hope he wasn't happy with his coach. All good things must come to an end and JG's run is getting close. Good luck R'dale against Blackman. Ya'll have a talented team. I don't know if you have the character to win it all but you should have a good postseason. Later.

Just curious keeper what the real deal did to get your attention? In the game I saw, she had zero points, 5+ turnovers, several points scored over and around her and was generally the slowest person on the floor. I'm sorry, in my opinion, she's not ready for varsity ball.

Another question then, on the night Riverdale played Oakland at RHS, the lady Warriors basically had an open house for all of their feeder school programs to come into their locker room and eat pizza, drink cokes, etc. When they invited all of the girls from McFadden, some of those players do not live in the Riverdale zone. Is this legal or would this be considered recruiting?

You are correct. If there has not been a bona fide change of residence with the players from Independence, then they are in violation of the rules. They cannot live with the coach unless the coach is their official guardian. Otherwise, this constitutes a dual residence and they are ineligible.
