  1. Alright, I am usually not one to do this. However, I would bet my entire years paycheck that Ward does not defeat Zach Watson. Alex Ward is a good wrestler, no doubt, but Zach Watson is on a different level then almost every wrestler in Tennessee. Ward was defeated by Feuerbacher, who is also a great wrestler but has some losses to quality wrestlers as well. However, I do not see any wrestler at 119, or 125 in the state defeating Zach Watson, I don't think he could handle Austin Woods or Campbell Lewis though, but that is an opinion, he could definitely hang with them even beat them, but I don't see it happening. I will guarantee that Mr. Ward does not defeat Zach Watson unless he was to catch him and pin him, and after watching Mr. Watson wrestle over the years, he does not make very many of those. Good luck to all, should be a great match! PRT iii
  2. I do not find this win surprising for Soddy at all. I think I speak for everyone when I ask, can we see the complete match-up results? PRT iii
  3. Dylan Wright now attends Franklin High School. He will be eligible in a few weeks/days. PRT iii
  4. To be ranked you would have to wrestle, let alone show up. I have been to a couple tournaments where Blackman was there & Mr. Kennedy was no where in site. I have no idea where this wrestler is or has been but I wish the best for him and hope that everything works out. I would love to see him out there winning his 2nd state title. PRT iii
  5. What is Mr. Zach Watson up to these days? I know he is not very likely to break this due to an injury from last year. I do not however believe he has lost a high school match, in Tennessee, and that for one could be a record of it's own. None the less congratulations to Alex Manly, a great wrestler and an even better young man. It has been a privilege watching this young man develop over the years. And memhpiswrestling171, there have been 5x state placers, but never has there been a 5x state champion. What an accomplishment by Mr. Duncan if he is able to stay healthy and win yet another state title this year. PRT iii
  6. It was postponed because of the weather, it is set for Jan 23
  7. I believe that if Williamson County closes then the tournament would be moved to Saturday only. This is what happened to the Father Ryan tournament last year so I do believe that it would also happen in this case, but I am not 100% sure on this. Also, what teams have canceled due to weather? PRT iii
  8. CBHS 42, Father Ryan 19 103 - Michael Echart (FR) beat Wittman 4-3 (0-3) 112 - Gray (CB) beat Colin McNally 5-2 (3-3 119 - Robinson (CB) pinned Mike Akers 1:14 (9-3) 125 - Parish (CB) pinned Patrick Cosgrove 3:34 (15-3) 130 - Cole Moseley (FR) beat Johnson 3-2 (15-6) 135 - Blake Hataway (CB) beat Chris Campbell 2-1 (18-6) 140 - Baker (CB) pinned Brian Casey :36 (24-6) 145 - Anthony (CB) beat Mark Marchetti 4-2 (27-6) 152 - Chris Agnew (FR) beat Brandon Hataway 22-13 (27-10) 160 - Wathall (CB) pinned Kenneth Garrett 2:44 (33-10) 171 - Rupiper (CB) beat Brandon Zietlin 7-1 (36-10) 189 - TJ Holmes (FR) beat Mitchell 9-4 (36-13) 215 - Ricky Fisher (FR) pinned Corbin McOlgan 3:12 (36-19) 285 -Lou Posey (CB) pinned Brandon Christy 5:26 (42-19) -Correct Me if my math is wrong, not a math major! 9. I would argue against my own team here. We need to step it up. A win by only 8 points is not very good, The Bros could've brought Kaleb Baker and he alone would've made up for those points and they would've won the tournament, so to say that we are a better team is a very bold thing to say, especially after The Bros spanked us pretty bad at Cleveland Duals. However it is their fault for not winning the tournament because they decided not to bring their entire starting lineup, and they paid for that. So in my opinion I believe that we need to step it up as a team if we want to be a state championship team, but none the less it was a good win as a team. PRT iii
  10. You definitely cannot leave out Tanner Bates (Mt. Juliet) from the 119 pound weight class. Mr. Bates is undefeated at this point and won the Bradley tournament. Look for Bates to come out strong and show everyone that he's the real deal! PRT iii
  11. Now normally, I would agree with a post like this, if we were talking over a long period of time. However, we are not. There are teams that are really undefeated, not at every weight, but in every dual. Bradley Central, I don't believe they have lost a dual this year. There are probably lots of other teams across the nation that haven't lost either. Also, to consider losing the dual due to reffing is not a good arguement either. Maybe if the wrestlers don't put themselves in positions to get a "bad call" then there wont be a problem, take your oppenent down in the center of the mat, get your escape in the center. The refferee should never be able to take a wrestler out of the match, the wrestler takes himself out of the match. Now, Mr. "Mike Scott" if you are going to blame the refferees for a loss, I would blame them for Nic Bundy's loss in the state finals to a wrestler that was not as good as him, in what my opinion was a horrible call, maybe not in yours though. PRT iii
  12. I feel as though if Mike Scott keeps making his rediculous match assumptions and opinions, that somthing crazy may happen someday..... PRT iii
  13. Much better job this week, just a quick note, Caleb Little (Independence) defeated Chad Isbell (Clarksville) in a duel. Also, does anyone know when the Division 2 Rankings will be coming out? PRT iii
  14. Wow, that is definitely one stacked weight class throwing in Calloway and Bellet as well! I personally see Woods on top, but hey, the past has shown that anything can happen in this sport and we must take it one match at a time. I can't wait to see how this weight turns out! PRT iii
  15. I would have to say that the 130 pound weight class is pretty stacked this year at this tournament, could arguably be the toughest in the tournament. Division 1 Wrestlers Austin Woods (Franklin)- Ranked 1st D1 Scott Seamon (Mt. Juliet)- Ranked 6th D1 Division 2 Wrestlers Cole Mosely (Ryan)- Ranked 1st D2 Matt Johnson (CBHS)- Ranked 3rd D2 Matthew Davidson(MBA)- Ranked 5th D2 Trevor Jenkins(St.Benedict)- Ranked 6th D2 Note: Not sure if MBA is actually coming, however they've been there every year. PRT iii
  16. Austin Oliver got pinned or Major Decisioned by Scottsboro. From what I heard that Scottsboro wrestler was a stud, and won his 12? match straight. PRT iii
  17. Should be a good one.. Independence Cleveland Dickson Co. David Lipscomb John's Creek, GA MLK Brentwood Academy Mont Central Blackman Kenwood Clarksville Northeast Clarksville Northwest Clarksville Houston Rossview Scottsboro, AL Harpeth PRT iii
  18. Where did little Johnson even wrestle Cox? And I believe that Brennen lost to Jeremy Miller in the Bradley final, NEVER lost to Zach Bennett, nor do I believe he ever wrestled one of the Johnson brothers. PRT iii
  19. Just because you do not like Mr. Wrestling God does not mean that you need to make fun of him. He may not say the most accurate, or appropriate things at that but that does not mean that you need to attack him. As another parent, I would have to say that I am very appalled that somebody would attack him like that, growing up I was taught that two wrongs don't make a right. So essentially, if you do not like what he has to say, ignore it, you don't need to come back with personal attacks. I think a lot of people on these boards have a lot of growing up to do, not just rasslinlite, not just wrestling god, but a lot of people. PRT iii
  20. I was asking for others opinions, and in doing so I was stating mine as well. PRT iii
  21. Rankings are not quite predections, because to predict a kid getting 4th in state right now is pointless, you'd need to see the brackets to make a state prediction. A ranking means that you are saying who the best in order are, not predictions. I for one agree, that it seems that Bray's Rankings are more accurate. PRT iii
  22. Just a few names that come to mind; Jordan Leen-(2008 NCAA champion, 3x All-American (8-1-3) 2x EIWA champ, 2008 EIWA Wrestler of the Year) Bill Harlow- (1966 NCAA champ, 3x All-American (2-2-1) 3x NCAA finalist, 2x Big 8 champ World Silver medal) Phillip Simpson- (3x All-American; 2003-04-05, 2005 NCAA runner-up, West Point’s only 3x All-American, 3x EIWA champ) However, you have to think of the new wrestlers, and the wrestlers being produced; TJ Duncan- (Future 5x High School State Champion) Zach Watson- (Future 5x High School State Champion) Campbell Lewis- (2x State Champ, possible 4x State Champion, 2x NHSCA All-American, 1x NHSCA National Champion) Michael Hooker- (Future 5x State Finalist, Possible 3x State Champion) And if you look at the little guys, the only big name that comes out to me, a huge name in fact is little Eli King (2x Tulsa National Finalist, Liberty Nationals Champion) So, lets hear your opinion, who do you think is Tennessee's Greatest Wrestler of All-Time? You don't have to use the names that I listed, list some others. Do you think some of our current High School wrestlers could surpass the Achievements of some Tennessee Alumni eventually? Lets hear what you think! PRT iii
  23. I would agree with you Mr. Boone, however while reading your post a little name came to my mind, so I am going to have to disagree with you. In my opinion, and I think that others would agree, that if this wrestler stays on the path he's going, he will easily be on the path to beating many Tennessee high school records, even national. I believe the great Eli King could own that crown. PRT iii
  24. Its like that everywhere get used to it. There is nowhere in the state that isnt disrespected like that. You learn to just live with it and improve the sport the little bit that you can. Just get used to it. PRTiii PS. this isnt really something to post about, "I heard someone say something today that made me mad" blah blah blah, just keep it to yourself.
