  1. Great game the other night against Marion. That may have been the first time I've ever seen back to back triples followed by back to back doubles. Way to hit. I couldn't figure out why Marion never brought in a reliever. They didn't even have anyone warming up. The only thing I could think of was that maybe they didn't have that much depth at pitcher. And, since it wasn't a do or die situation, were saving their next guy for tonight. I don't know. I just think, as a former pitcher, if a guy gives up four straight extra base hits, you should at least have a guy warming up. Good luck, Chargers! Take it to them!
  2. Could someone please update Central's full schedule and results? Thanks.
  3. Where is the McMinn Central/Knox Catholic game being played. I can't find it on either team's schedule. TSSAA.org doesn't list this game either.
  4. When and where will this game be played? It seems as if most schools' schedules are incomplete on here.
  5. I'd like to echo the sentiments of thug dadi. I returned home to TN after being away for 16 years. I was AMAZED at how well my alma mater was being represented by these fine young ladies. I wasn't around for the previous years of their careers, but I've been filled in throughout the course of the season as to their accomplishments. I was astounded to hear some of the records that were alluded to by thug dadi. They are almost unbelievable. I've been talking to friends of mine from other states that have never heard of McMinn Central and telling them about the Chargerettes. I would tell them how hard you work and how you play with class and dignity. These people became excited about this team they've never seen and would call me to find out scores after each game. So, ladies, your collective footprint is bigger than you could ever imagine. Best of luck to all of you in your future endeavors. Congratulations on one heckuva season and remarkable careers.
  6. I'm getting on the road in just a few minutes. I hope that both teams play well. I'm looking forward to a great game. Be safe, everybody! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  7. ANYBODY ELSE GETTING FIRED UP FOR THIS GAME???!!!
  8. Same here. I'll be at that game too. I just hope I don't get lost.
  9. I agree Maniac. And I'm looking forward to the game tomorrow. I'll see you, Mrs. Maniac and the little Maniacs there. Drive carefully.
  10. When Central's Davis was fouled on the shot, the ball came out of her hand and sort of landed on the shoulder/upper back of the Upperman player. Davis instinctively tried to grab the ball about the same time the whistles blew. In doing so, Davis grabbed the ball at about the same time as the Upperman player. The whistle had already blown and the Upperman player threw the ball down, but it hit Davis. I don't think it was intentional, just frustration because it appeared at first that Davis was attempting a 3 pointer. Then I think some things were said. That's just what I saw. On the plus side. It didn't have an affect on the outcome of the game. Davis missed her two foul shots (it wasn't a 3 attempt) Lee hit both technical foul free throws and then Central didn't score on the possession after the technical. So, what could have been a 6 or 7 point trip down the court for Central only turned out to be a 2 point trip.
  11. The schools are about 10 miles apart and they are the only two high schools in the county. The zones basically split the county in half. It's been a pretty intense rivalry for quite a long time. I'll get back on topic, now. How many seniors does Livingston Academy have? I know they are experienced and from what I hear on here, they sound like a mirror image of the Chargerettes.
  12. It's just that McMinn County is our biggest rival. Whenever someone calls us just "McMinn", it's like nails on a chalkboard to us because that's what McMinn County is called. We prefer McMinn Central or Central. I guess you'd just have to understand our history.
  13. Thanks for the clarifier! It is much appreciated. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  14. I'm like the rest of you. I haven't much of anything about Bolivar Central. I hope it's a good game.
  15. I'm a McMinn Central fan, but I really want to see this game. It sounds like it'll be a good one. You've gotta like the sub-plot of Hume-Fogg making it to the tournament after an 80 year drought. I'm sure their fans are very proud of them. Best of luck to both teams.
  16. Thanks, OldSchool. It always makes me cringe when people refer to us simply as McMinn. I really don't like the Cherokees. I'll see you all there. Where's the pre-game party going to be???
  17. I'm looking forward to this match-up. I'll be informing my boss that I'll be "unavailable" on Wednesday. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Anyone know what the ticket-availability will be like? I hope to see a lot of Central fans in the 'Boro.
  18. Any thoughts on this match-up of two very good teams?
  19. I've got it pulled up and am anxiously awaiting the results of the draw. Good luck to all, but mostly to McMinn Central. I'm a little biased.
  20. A little luck never hurts.
  21. I was just looking over the bracket and was thinking that Livingston and Gibson look like the toughest teams left. Although, Hume-Fogg is peaking at the right time. The Elizabethton team looks strong and South Greene is no slouch. Everyone left was either a 1 or a 2 seed in their region. After seeing how our girls, excuse me, ladies played Upperman last night, I feel they can handle any tough games down the stretch. This game was a blessing for Central (with the exception of two key injuries) in that we saw a sophomore step up BIG TIME in a clutch situation to ice the game. A lot of players got a lot of good experience throughout the season and especially last night. I hope they keep rolling and stay focused. There's still more work to do and some very capable teams left.
  22. "92Charger, you said this game wouldn??™t have been as close if Gaby had been in the whole game? That would be like me saying If 3 of the Upperman starters weren??™t fighting this virus bug that closed down Putnam Co. schools Friday that this game would have turned out different, I wouldn??™t even try to say that. I have read a lot about Central and I??™m sure it hurt not having her but that is just crazy to say stuff like that so lets not go there." I wasn't trying to take anything away from Upperman. If you look at my posts, you'll see that I've given them all the credit in the world. I was very impressed with their team speed and ball handling. I was only trying to make a point that we lost one of our best players with 4 minutes left in the first. She is a huge part of our team. She's an excellent rebounder and one of the best defenders. I'm not saying it would have been a blow out or anything like that. Maybe a differential of 5 more points or so. To say losing her makes no difference would be like us saying that it would mean nothing if you lost Davis. Again, be sure to pass on our thanks and sentiments to your players. I'm sorry if my previous comment sounded cocky or arrogant. It wasn't my intention. I was just trying to express how good a player Jordan is.
  23. I'll have to agree. That was one heckuva game. Can't wait to see who we get in the draw. Who all on here is going to try to make it over there on Wednesday?
