  1. For fans of both sides and for general interest- I spoke to a friend of mine in NJ...(a "Media Source") and said he and two other friends of his....who just happen to be Scouts for two different NE Universities will be attending/scouting the game. He said that this is the first trip to scout Tennessee High Schools for football players for both of them. He knows of at lest 12 yes, 12 other University/College scouts will be making the trip also. Perhaps this may bode well for some of the atheletes on both sides of the field. Hope so! (Starz: "bode well" meanz itll be a gooder thang fer da young'uns) Wish I was there.....but it's one of those "family first" things. (Somebody kidnap me?!) Reguards to the Board, Mapp
  2. Beautiful Stadium! What's the tour schedule like? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Looks like another good, challenging game. If the Red Rebels protect the ball, they'll come out ahead by two touchdowns. MHS 38 GHS 24 Long range forecast 35-40 degrees, light showers. That should make life interesting for everyone. 3. Greyrider: Appreciate the ride to and from Rhea. Young'uns were good guys. Stars: Sorry i didn't get to see you and Momma....did see ol' Nellie Bell on the road though....any tickets for "ugly truck"? Rebelron: I had to sit on the other 35. Wonderful game, plenty of excitment.....was pretty hoarse this AM. Couldn't give any tours at the Museum today! Good luck RCHS. Great hosts. Reguards to the Board, Mapp

  5. ...Speaking of riding shotgun......anyone from Maryville headded for the game need a top turret gunner? Mapp's looking for transport...help with gas and the like. (No Starz!......ol' Nellie Bell's shocks and springs are stressed enough /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> ........she does still have springs dosen't she?)) Appreciate it, Reguards to the Board, Mapp
  6. Patience, persistance, and a little exhaust fumes from ol' Nellie-Bell. MHS 35 Rhea 24 Reguards to the Board, Mapp (looking for transport to the game) /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  7. I have a strange feeling about this rematch. Red Rebels will come out ahead, but not by as much as one would think. 14 points more than the opposition at the end of the contest. Reguards to the Board, Mapp (rain again?.....cold?) /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  8. As an aside there RRon, Mrs. Mapp held the faith from game one that MHS would go all the way that year (2000). She just had that "feeling" about the "Black Swarm" that year (days of the VCCs!) I still like the Red Rebels tommorrow by 14. See you there...."Programs!".....get one. Reguards to the Board, Mapp /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  12. Never was any "cupcakes". There were "Victory Cone Cakes" for a few years though...seemed to work. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> Reguards to the Board, Mapp
  13. [/size]Way to go Starz!!! A GEOGRAPHY LESSON!! I LOVE IT!!....Population Geography, Geography of the US, Regional Geography, and Quantitative Methods!!...and even a pop-quiz question!!! Y'all do us proud! Good for MBA and MHS, (future game WB 21, MHS 42) Reguards to the Board, Mapp (A Cartographer!! smirk!) /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  14. Which team are you referring too? ......talking?....... Oh, yeah, it's Red Rebels....yes, "Capitalized" Reguards to the Board, Mapp (.....2:44 am)
  15. I will admit I occasionally check different National HS Polls to see if Tennessee gets the occasional recognition it deserves. To see Maryville (my bias of course) listed the last four years has been a "nicety" at my own ego level. I did notice that one pollster adds a reason for each of his rankings. Two weeks ago he had listed under Maryville that Maryville was not tough enough to compete with other states that produce annual "power house" teams. I wasn't too surprised at that but I was a little "miffed" about that comment. A little "slight" against the State I'd say. I Emailed him and inquired about his reason (politely) and his response was that Maryville dosen't get huge score separations when they obviously could and that Tennessee does not produce the caliber of football players that other traditional states produce. (Jason Whitten?!) So, yeah, polls are for "ego feeding" I guess......but I still enjoy 'em at face value. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> See Below: "Thanks for the well thought out email, usually I get ???youre an idiot??? type emails so this is refreshing. Maryville is a classy organization and they keep winning and that is the bottom line. The thing that is holding them back ??“ in terms of a national perspective ??“ is the competition level in East Tennessee. As you noted they are taking our starters in the third quarter does not give a good perception of tough high school football that is played elsewhere. The bottom line is winning, which they do very well, but would they do it against a Florida team, California, Texas, or Arizona??¦ maybe, but it my belief that they wouldn??™t." 19. Meanwhile.....back at the "original"....I like MHS winning this one by 17. Stars! FYI: Mapp occasionally wears BOTH shades of orange, likes the numbers 12, .270, .308, 7.62 and 9MM, can operate up to 26,000 GVW "Discards Trasportation" vehicles, 1 ton dually pickup trucks, as well as the old M-60 Patton, drive Mules, safely arrive at the surface of the earth from vehicles far above it....with the appropriate equip of course, politley force fans to separate themselves from portions of their wallets at the Skeeter for pertenant game information bound neatly (including photographs too!).......plus much more.....and all done with a "Smile!" ......but I digress, I believe "The Black Swarm Mentallity" the Red Rebels have will hold it's place for quite some time. What's the word on the "Inflatable Flag"? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> Won't be making the trip this time (somebody's gotta keep the campfire stoked). Reguards to the Board, Mapp /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
