  1. I'm not a long time Boyd guy. Call it what you want. Boyd called it a phone interview. I'm just passing along information bud. The job has been offered to Fant. We shall see if he takes it or if he passes up the offer and then it goes to Akins next.
  2. To answer a few questions. As of now Trousdale is not on the schedule. We don't have the common date to make it work. Also this morning I can confirm and would like to say. BOOM!
  3. Boyd sure seem to think those were interviews. Whether it was a phone interview or face to face. Regardless the ones I mentioned have talked on several occasions with Boyd admin. You guys have a good day.
  4. Once again you are wrong. Sorry bud but Fant did interview at Boyd. I understand him denying it to you but it’s a 100% fact he interviewed at Boyd along with Rusty Bradley and Drew Akins. Maybe it’s just a ploy to get a pay raise but it happened.
  5. Think what you want too. I know 100% fact these guys interviewed. They can tell you they didn’t, but they in fact did interview at Boyd.
  6. Hey Booger. Why did Fant interview at Boyd Buchanan today? I can’t believe he would consider leaving the Catholics for the Boys job.
  7. Who is going to get it? Head Coach Eli Stephenson from Forrest has interviewed, Drew Akins from Red Bank has interviewed. Passing guru Rusty Bradley from Knox Grace and formerly of CAK and USJ interviewed. Charles Fant from Notre Dame interviewed today. Who will get the job?
  8. It seems like a lot of disrespect coming from the north end of the county from a lot of the fan base. Whitwell has a really good team so they should be proud. All I can promise for this game is the SP kids will show up tonight and play hard for 4 quarters because that's what great programs do. It's born and bred in them. I'm all in with these kids. We might lose again or pull the upset but either way we will keep coming back year after year because that's just what we do. Should be a great game. I hope everyone comes out and supports this team. Go Pirates!
  9. South Pittsburg does not have the week open that Trousdale needs unless something falls through before the contracts are signed. We have weeks 7 and 10 open to find a game. If the schedule holds we are actually looking to travel. As of right now we have 5 home and 4 away. We are hoping to find one closer to home since we tentatively have two, 2 hour trips already scheduled. Contracts aren't signed so as of now these are all just verbal agreements.
  10. I rarely post here but I have to get some people weighing in on this whole ordeal. I posted it in the SP thread but I decided to here as well. I just feel like people need to know what happened with this deal and how wrong it is. It cheated our kids out of playing in a championship game that according to the bylaws set forth by the league before the season, they had earned. This is in response to the middle school football ordeal. I have remained silent on this matter but these are the facts. The league had a set of bylaws that they have always used. These bylaws were in place at the beginning of the season. In case of a 3 way tie the bylaws consisted of these tiebreakers. 1. conference record, 2. head to head, 3. overall record, 4. points allowed among the teams tied. Under the bylaws that started this season. Bledsoe, Jasper and SP all beat each other this season. Therefore they all three had the same conference record and the head to head tiebreaker was all the same. The overall record would have put SP as the #1 seed because they didn't lose any out of conference games. The #2 seed would then be decided by Jasper or Bledsoe based on their overall records. Bledsoe did in FACT lose one game out of the conference. I'm not sure if Jasper lost one or not. If they lost one then Bledsoe would have been the #2 seed because they beat Jasper. If Jasper did not lose an out of conference game then they would have been the #2 seed and Bledsoe would have been left out. Even if the overall record didn't come into effect, SP was still in a good spot because they had not allowed the most points between the three teams. As I said earlier the 4th tiebreaker rule was points allowed. This has always meant that whoever allowed the most was out to get you back to two teams. Once you're back to two teams then it goes back to head to head to determines who hosts. This is the way the bylaws read and were agreed upon at the start of the season. This is the way they have been for YEARS. Last year the conference had a three way tie as well between Sp, Sequatchie, and Bledsoe. They had all three beat each other and had the same conference records. Therefore the overall record and then points allowed came into play. SP lost an out of conference game and they also had allowed the most points between those three teams. So in 2017 SP was out because of the tiebreakers. 2018 SP should be in the championship game as the #1 seed. However a "meeting" was held and everyone but SP voted to "change" the bylaws. Newsflash.... changing bylaws is fine to put them into effect for the next season, but NOT AFTER THE REGULAR SEASON HAS BEEN FINISHED AND YOU HAVE PLAYED ALL SEASON WITH THESE IN EFFECT. The bottom line is SP was done wrong. Anyone with a brain understands that rules and bylaws are not meant to be changed during the season that you are currently playing. That is nothing more than changing the rules in the middle of a game to fit your agenda. Why did Bledsoe want the rules changed? Because they had lost two games on the season and they would be out of the conference championship game. Why did Jasper want the bylaws changed? Because they had beaten SP in a regular season game. Everyone knows how this went down. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong and this whole deal is just plain wrong. BTW I totally understand how these bylaws work in this conference.

  12. South Pittsburg Academy (Middle School) is in need of a last minute game this Thursday. Due to a cancellation they don't have a team for their homecoming game.
  13. We double checked again on the win total for Vic. Tonight will make career win 199. There was a game in 2008 vs Temple that was scheduled but later before the season started it was forfeited by Temple. Since we couldn't find a game that season it goes down as a forfeit win by TSSAA rules. It shows 11-1 for 2008 on here when it really was 12-1. The same thing happened in 2012 to Arlington Christian but that forfeit is reflected on here. Hope this clears it up. Thanks guys.
  14. Hey guys just an FYI. I saw something on here about Vic's 200th win. He is actually going for 199 this week vs Sale Creek and 200 would come vs Jasper next week.
  15. Just to clear this up. The kid that flew our drone last season decided not to do it this year. We would like to have it flying but don't have anyone. We are taking applications. lol
  16. Here’s an idea. How about 6 classes in baseball just like in football. It’s absolutely ridiculous that baseball and basketball only have 3 classes. We have more teams in baseball than we do in football but less number of classes.
  17. Grabowski will do a good job at Basin.
  18. If you haven’t havent seen the new renovations in SP you need too. Our QB Club is doing some great things for our kids.
  19. I don’t post much but It’s getting that time of year. Spring practice is upon us.
  20. Hey just a heads up. He actually can't get to 200 wins until next season. We went through them back before the season. 1997-2012 then 2015-present. The Murphy Fair book was wrong.
  21. What is going on down here? This group has been top notch for years. What advantages are you talking about? We're cheating with shaved bats, microwaved balls, sandpaper in our pitchers gloves, and pine tar all around? I've heard this stuff during the week and it's ridiculous.
  22. I don't post much here but those kids have been a great bunch since they were 5 years old. I've heard crazy stuff from us having shaved bats to microwaving baseballs. Yes we have two kids on the team that didn't start with us when we were young. 18 kids on the team and 16 of them have been together since 5 years old. One started with us at age 9 and the other one this season because his dad became the hitting coach for the HS baseball team. Our best players are debatable because we have several good ones. Come to think of it, Jasper's best player just started with them this season so there's that. Let's just give the kids the credit they deserve. They are a very good group of boys that have played ball together a long time.
  23. I don't post much but here is the deal on this one. The deal is on the table. @SP in 2017 and @Waverly in 2018. SP told Waverly they would come play at whatever time they wanted to play in 2018. SP also told them they would play this year's game at 7:30 or 8:00 cst if they needed too to help out Waverly due to bussing. This would give each team 5 home games the next two seasons. You're right about little league. That would be a bad situation for parents that have a kid playing in both. I hope that Saturday stuff doesn't happen. That would be awful.
  24. The Boyd game in 2015 was #1 vs #2 in the state. They were ready to play. The SP game was against their biggest rival. Again they were ready to play. Jasper has had a great run but they were out played and pretty much shut down both of those nights.
