I am not familiar with Lamar Brown. I do know what Joe Case has done and would seem to be the front runner. I have spoken to Spencer Riley and he said that he would not be interested, I'm not saying that something couldn't change but probably wouldn't.

AH the same issues that linger in most systems across the state right now. It seems businesses around high schools would step up and help out to create a better situation for the kids. Most businesses probably have some students work there..

WOW... I did not know that. Hopefully things can get back to being more competitive. I have heard that there may be a chance that JeffCO could break up into 2 schools? If that happens that could go either way as far a being competitive. I am not sure that would be a good move and hope that does not happen.. Thanks for the info.

Well sounds like he would be a good fit. I would like to see JeffCo get back on track a little more, just like to see upper E TN football getting better as a whole. There are a handful of teams that do good every year and I would like to see when every team could win on any Friday night. I am not sure of how good the team at JeffCo could be but from what I have read they have a chance to be good but not alot of athletes. I keep hearing the name of Coach Case from West Greene. He would be a great fit if you look at what he has done at WGHS. He did not have much to work with there and very limited to nothing with assistant coaches and has gone to the playoffs the last 2 or 3 years. Will be interesting to see what JeffCo does.

There has been rumors about this guy for the last few years. "Rumors" that are unmentionable but if they are by any means true he needs to be fired and run out of the state. He has not be winning in the last few years and that is why he is there to win not to be a teacher. People can claim he wants to be a teacher all they want but I know of no football coaches that take a teaching job to be a real teacher but to be a coach and a mentor to young men. This guy needs to go and Central needs to find a young coach to take over and breath new life into the program that once was pretty darn good.

Devils roll big in this one. The only way it will not be a blow out is if Gibbs can move the ball a little and run the clock with the running style offense they have. G'ville is really good on the DL and the 2 backs in G'ville is a good combination anywhere in the state. G'ville just has to keep doing what they have done all year and let #3 and #11 run the ball and make plays. Good luck Devils!!

Alcoa would win big. The only player gville would have that could run with Alcoas speed is willy and he wont be there next year. Gville better watch what they ask for in playing some teams ex: Anderson County was an average team the years they played gville is 1-5 I think Powell is the #1 team in 5A right now and they are loaded with sophs and jrs. I like to see gville win but enjoyed it much better last year when they lost a couple of regular season games and didnt talk so much trash. But will give credit the devils are playing good keep it rolling through the playoffs.

The key to this game will be for the Buffs to control clock and control the edge on D dont let the Roadrunners use their spee. A-E just got beat last week by a Gibbs team that is very similar to the Buffs.

I think you under estimate the speed of the 96 team. Not saying the 01 team wasn't but in 96 you had lineman that were 4.8-4.9. Alley Kerr Rowland Bavosett. LB's Cross Tackett were mid-high 4.7. Then you had 4.6 or better in the back end with Larue (low 4.4 / high 4.3) Guillum Slover Derry and Maupin. That group could run too. Would be great games but I have to continue to argue for the teams I was on.

You can tell the Halls people have nothing better to do than to read about AC. They had a great year in 96. But for Halls fans to come to the best AC team board and respond shows how bad the little devils are these days. You want to talk make your own Halls board. I don't even support Kerr but he built that program and not long after he was gone you see where it is now the crapper!! Go to another place to respond and good luck hope you can win more than 3 or 4 games this year with a coach that tried to leave and had to beg for his job back.

Again teams that are in 3A. Did you not see where AC scrimmaged AE and the starters only played about 10 plays. That year AE we to the Qrts or Semis so can't say they were not that good. I also believe Maryville started going to the state and putting together their dominate play in '97 which AC beat them that year. So in 4A Halls went to state in 96 (AC semis,which none of your teams made it) and Maryville went in 97. The 96 team made farther in the playoffs in 4A than any other AC team has in any division. By the way you don't go to the 2nd and 3rd round and "finished top 3 in the state". The 96' team DID finish 3rd.

Your teams played n 3A with the same amount of students that the older teams had. How far did your teams make it in the playoffs. How high were they ranked. What was their final ranking. In 96 they were #1 and finished #3 or #4 in 4A. No way those little cats could run and handle Kerr, Alley, Rowland, Tackett, Cross, Camp. None of them could catch Larue. I am talking about a team that went 99 yards against a Cleveland team that had never lost a game. 3 State Title, SR's were unbeaten. Avg over 35 points a game and was shut down. Not to take away from your teams, they were good for 3A but not against the big boys like the mid 90 teams played.

Who won it on the other team? If you are trying to talk about the Price kid come on. He was a good player I won't take that away from him. He quit what 2 or 3 times in college because he wasn't good enough to play. Those teams can not match the speed or power of the mid 90 teams. We are talking about teams not 1 player.

Chadwell transferred to AC in 94 for his Sr. year that's when he and Wilson were there. Daniel Berry transferred to AC for his Sr year in 97. The 95 team lost to shelbyville in the 2nd round. The 96 team could not get OR to play them. They had a scrimmage set up and OR backed out. With that OR team I wouldn't have backed out of anything they had 3 players go D1. The 96 team also scrimmaged AE and the starters got to play about 10 snaps and was up 5-0. There is no doubt that the 94,95,96,97 teams are the best in any order there was to much horsepower on O and D.

From what I have heard TL is trying to keep all the assistants. I'm not sure how the Price boys are taking it since I'm sure TL will run the D and I heard that TL is thinking about bringing his OC with him but not sure if that will work out.

Can anyone provide information on any scrimmages/dates that are set for the Knoxville and surrounding areas?

Back to the Indians. Have they began the process to find a new coach. Time is running short for Spring ball. Will they appoint an assistant for the spring and then bring in a new coach or use it as a trial period to see if an assistant can handle the job? It will be interesting to see what they will do. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

This is really a bad post. I would say there are more coaches than we know about that didn't play college football. There are 2 coaches that are or have been Head Coaches from AC that didn't play college football or played only a few plays. The only good thing in this is that you said "I know you don't have to be a great player to coach". Tony has earned the respect of everyone that has anything to do with football in that area if not the whole state. So are you saying that Mike Leach at Texas Tech should not have the respect of his players because he never played. He went to school to be a lawyer and never played college football. Tony will get that program right in a bigger classification.

Catholic=No Head Coach. How bad is that to take a job for a guy and he leaves you. Could work out in his favor to be the head man there?
