  1. I remember another team like that. Undefeated, 27 - 0, beat the best teams at the Palmetto cup, 18 seniors. This team moved the ball better than any High school team I ever saw. Do you know what happened to the 2010 Farragut Admirals? Arrogance beat them! So be careful
  2. There is always great soccer in AAA District 4. Unfortunately only two get to go on each year. With that I would like to congratulate West, Catholic and Farragut for completing great seasons. As to Bearden and Maryville good luck in your push for State. Anything can happen, just ask the incredible Farragut Class of 2010! I loved to watch that team play.
  3. Thanks, I hope it is Farragut vs Franklin...the game we wanted to see all year.
  4. Any news about this game. Last I heard was 2 - 1 Farragut at half
  5. Why even debate...I have seen enough Maryville games to know that in a tight game, the ref already has his hand on a yellow hankie. Maryville has a well coached talented team. Farragut has a huge offensive line but only an average defense. If Farragut can run, the game will be close but, look for that laundry on the field.
  6. Why not contact the Farragut coach. I hear they killed the program at that school.
  7. Actually it was sad! For me it was the end of an era for a dominate soccer program that has finaly hit the skids. Maryville was very talented and came out aggressive. There was no problem with the students section of Maryville as kids will be kids. The adults might need to learn how to win with dignity. I do fear though that the rezoning has stripped too much talent away from Farragut that is now going to Bearden and Hardin Valley. Hats off to Maryville as there program has finally overcome their greatest obstacle.
  8. Oh come on folks, All of a sudden I am by myself. Go back and look at the Maryville - Farragut game during the regular season. The phantom pass interference call that kept the drive alive for Maryville. The holding calls every time Farragut had a big run. The questionable block in the back on a big kickoff return for Farragut. The blatent non - holding call (it was actually a tackle) on Maryville in the middle of the field that resulted in a Maryville TD. Maryville is well coached and disciplined but they have had help along the way. Farragut on the other hand has always had an attitude of arrogance and the refs usually don't give them a lot of slack. Perception you say...try 20 years of watching local High School ball. I will be at the game to support HS athletics.
  9. Farragut has come a long way this year after losing so much talent and so many starters from last year. I would however stop short of giving koodos to the coaching staff. The team last year should have blown through the playoffs. They were outcoached by Maryville and it was a crying shame to see there talent leave empty handed. Unfortunately this year, the defense is a seive and with the loss of Johnson on both sides of the ball for the Maryville game it will get ugly quick unless they can contain Robinette. I pick Maryville by 20 unless the Farragut coaching staff can get creative. Don't forget, the refs at Maryville will stop any big play for the opponent!
  10. I really do not see anyone beating Farragut. They have way too much depth. There backup keeper would be starting for anyone else as well as their bench position players. All are D-1 club players. I would almost go so far as to say their back-ups could win State. This is not a knock on the other teams but just a compliment to the Farragut players. As long as the coach can keep the player's egos in tack, this team will be special. The other two teams to watch are Bearden and Hardin Valley. It is a shame one of them will not reach region play as from what I have seen from the middle of the State, they both belong. I have not been too impressed with the teams out of District 1 & 2 compared with teams from District 3 & 4. The Knoxville area has really become a hotspot for excellent High School Soccer, I think we can thank the Club Coaches for that. Well with all this ranting, the games still have to be played, and I have seen my fair share of surprises over the years.
  11. I might be wrong, but I think it is a foregone conclusion that the Championship is Farragut's to lose...and I do not see that happening. By the lack of chatter on the site all year I believe everyone has been afraid to even mention it. I watched them tear Bearden (the number 2 team) apart. I then saw the pride of middle Tennessee, Hendersonville, get beat by these same Bulldogs. Brentwood is down this year as well. Nobody has matched up with the Admirals with the exception of Hardin Valley (and I have already said my piece on that subject). So taking a quote out of the Farragut's team warm-ups (Which I had to chuckle at) "Party's Over"
  12. Great Game despite the center ref who was giving out yellow cards for sneezing...but killing someone in the box was OK... Anyway, I just think we witnessed the changing of the Guard in Knoxville. Farragut has all the talent in the US but could not or would not figure out the scheme used by Hardin Valley...Great job of coaching. Both keepers did an excellent job as well. Farragut won this one 1-0 but I am sure these two teams will meet again down the road.
  13. First of all thank you to the Seniors. I have enjoyed watching you play and mature throughout your four years at Farragut. You had the best talent on the field and unfortunately it was not brought out properly. The coaches were arrogant and never admitted their weaknesses on the field. DBs never learned proper tackling techniques. They gave too much cushion on the field. LBs were too far off the line to defend off tackle runs by the opposition. Offensive plays were too predictable and against the better teams it finally caught up with you. Next years team will have to rely on the option more than ever. The offense should be potent with youngsters returning up front. The defense better get some help quick in the secondary. I would challange the coaches to study game field more. You need to exploit your oppositions weakness and prepare better for their strengths. My children are long gone but I still like to watch a good football game. Take these boys to the promised land .
  14. It is time for all the Farragut supporters to stop hiding and back your team. It is appalling to see the lack of support shown on the site. Other teams have thousands of hits while we hide because our quarterback is down, our offensive line is young, and our defense is untested. We have the best skilled players out there period. We have veteran special teams and a solid coaching staff. We all want to see Browning, but the rest of the team needs our support as well. Talk some smack be proud of your boys because when the dust settles, that "STAR" will be recognized. GO ADMIRALS!
  15. Region 3 & 4 are loaded Farragut, Bearden, Maryville, West, Oak Ridge and Hardin Valley...Yes Hardin Valley they have a great coach and are building a solid program. But, it will be Farraguts to lose next year with a loaded roster of approx 16 seniors.
  16. If Bearden can escape their goalkeeping nemesis, Columbia should pose little problem to this offensive powerhouse. I do agree they have a much easier draw with Farragut, Cleveland and Hendersonville all on the other side of the draw. If the referees stay out of the way, Bearden will make the finals. The other side is too tough to call.
  17. I think Farragut will come out with guns a blazin. They just had their wake-up call against Morristown West. I see Farragut making a statement early and hanging on 3-0 or 3-1. Hendersonvilles make-up is similar to Farraguts. However, Farraguts Junior class is probably the best in the State.
  18. I will pick Farragut 2-1. I think they play better defense and are playing better team ball @ present. Good luck to both teams in their quest for State. I would not be surprised to see round iv.
  19. Oak Ridge @ Farragut - May 12 @ 7 PM. Check back as game time may be changed based on which field is available.
  20. Bearden must overcome a very emotional loss to Farragut. Their defense has not played well of late. However, I feel their tougher schedule has prepared them better for the playoffs. West has very little depth to fall back on. I see Bearden winning 3-2 with the game not being that close.
