  1. I am glad to see that they are playing up to THEIR potential. Hopefully all of THEIR hard work will pay off. I wish them luck in the rest of THEIR season.
  2. This can go two ways - our small private school felt the same way after being multiplied into AA. We are playing by the rules, and our starting 5 have been playing together since 1st grade (no one was recruited then ) We could compete with any of the 5 county schools in Junior High. The high school that we have to compete with now pulls the "all-stars" from those 5 Jr. High teams, and we are still playing our same starting 5 that we played in Jr. High. I understand the dead end argument on public-private, but just thought I would throw out an opinion from "the other side"
  3. Not only are they getting good players, but by having this many local girls is going to insure that the attendance for these games is going to skyrocket. In the past few years, half of Bradford attended Union's ballgames and a good chunk of Gleason now with Kayla playing. This is a very good move for McMillan and UTM.
  4. Any idea who will be coaching them next year ? See that Coach stepped down last week.
  5. If Daddy has been coaching for 20 years, should he not have some pretty good insight into potential schools? Something here not right - think we may be on a fishing expedition.
  6. HERE IS A WAY TO MAKE EVERYBODY HAPPY. statistical impossibility. ain't gonna happen nope nadda chance
  7. Could we have one for schools with students of a population of 478??? (By the way, that is my school's enrollment and we needs a gold ball )
  8. All of this stated above would be totally against the TSSAA rules for Division II also, and would be totally unfair to those of us that play by the rules.
  9. Isn't this two private schools in the finals? and with 2 of the 3 Mr. Basketball finalists?
  10. Too bad the people on this board cannot be as classy as the kids were that actually played the game.
  11. Well, well - a friend and I had a bet how long it would be before we saw talk about next year, Lake Co. and TT listed on this message board. I lost....I said within 2 hours of the championship game. He said one day.
  12. Checked with our local TV station - the feed was not available from TSSAA
  13. Heard that GCPioneer is on oxygen trying to recover from the game.
  14. Congratulations to Chassidy - well deserved. Congratulations also to Heather Butler - MVP of tournament and team winning state championship would be my choice over Miss Basketball award.
  15. What an unbelievable game. Congrats to Coach Russell and the Lady Pioneers !
  16. We could just save us all a little time and money, forget the State Tournament (and all the others) and just say that your district tournament IS the State Tournament.
  17. When our team played in first State Tournament in Murphy Center, our best shooter (then a sophomore) said it was like someone put a goal out in the middle of a corn field and gave her a ball. The team went one and out that year and the next, but by her senior year, she was MVP of tournament and team won tournament, so look for second and third game for GC to be much better shooting games.
  18. Looked back and found my response from Matthew Gillespee of TSSAA regarding football broadcast: "There actually is no charge for the audio or videostream. Completely free. I wish we were broadcasting every game. This is the first year we've had any interest from TV for DII at all, and obviously that's the 2nd game. Basic reason it's not broadcast, is there's noone that's expressed interest to us to do so. If they do, we'll gladly try to get all games on TV. We'd love to see it as much as you. Believe me. Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns."
  19. I threw an absolute fit to our local TV station that was carrying all the DI football games and not the DII (as a point of reference, no one in this city in DI championships, but our only city team playing in the state championship was in DII). They listened and it was televised the last minute - somehow there was no feed from TSSAA and they "did not realize there was any interest" - They did after I got done with them ! Guess TSSAA needs to hear that people want to see it ? You know how much they listen to the concerns of DII people
  20. I still say Asa Toney from St. George's should have been in the mix. Oh well, guess he will have to settle for a team State Championship and Tournament MVP honor.
  21. Harding wins 52-43 over Franklin Road Academy. Congratulations !
  22. ooohhhhhh just a guess here, but somebody's team done been beat by one of these West Tennessee teams
