  1. Congrats to #53....heard he received an offer from Georgia Tech yesterday. Some good news amidst all the gloom and doom!! I just hope there is a season so I can watch him play.
  2. Congrats to the Rebels!! Total domination the whole game. That is a great group of Seniors, glad to see them finish with the Gold Ball. Also proud for Coach Hunt, two state championships in three years is pretty darn good and it couldn't happen to a better person.
  3. Congrats to your War Eagles.....I don't like losing to anyone, but I especially do not like losing to them, but they were the better team last Saturday!!
  4. You have been like a broke record for three months now, along with a couple of your other buddies, saying the same thing with every post. Your problem is not with anyone on this board, your problem is with the TSSAA!! If you have a problem with the rules then contact TSSAA and discuss it with them. If you have a problem with officiating, call TSSAA and discuss it with them....Maybe they will get you trained a make a referee out of you, I am sure they need the help. Any self-respecting man that whines and cries and makes as many excuses as you do, needs their man card revoked....if in fact you are a man to begin with. SP GOT BEAT!!! DEAL WITH IT!!
  5. Good luck to the Rebels tomorrow night!! I know Ravenwood has a team full of athletes, but Maryville has just been zoned in and getting better every week since the Alcoa game. With Chambers, Hodge, and Davis leading the offense and the Defense looking like a "Steel Curtain", I believe they bring home the Gold. Go Rebels!!! MHS 28 RHS 17
  6. Good luck to the Tornadoes today!! Congrats to #1 on a great season and being named a Mr. Football finalist, finish it off with a Gold Ball!! Alcoa 35 PC 14
  7. Better known as simply "Bubba".....I wish I could be there today, but I couldn't shake loose from work. Good luck to the Cherokees today, I'll be pulling for you!! GB 34 LC 24
  8. I'm sure it will break GB's heart if you sit on the LC side.
  9. Yep….I spend most of my summer Saturdays on Tellico...if there is a lake any prettier, I really need to see it.
  10. I know it doesn't matter, but I was standing nearly down the line on the GB side and while his body never got close to crossing, when he leaped and swung the ball toward the goal it sure appeared that it broke the plane....me and the guy next to me both commented that 23 had arms at least 4 foot long. I have not seen any video.
  11. Buddy, you better stick with archery....because judging from your posts on the last several pages your knowledge of football is severely lacking. Serious question, have you ever played football?
  12. 23 played a great game on both sides....the second TD reception was a thing of beauty, broke a tackle and then two SP players were converging and he kicks in another gear and outruns both of their angles. Tough kid....I know you are proud!!
  13. Sailor, hate I didn't get to meet you tonight. You are top notch in my book, your team played their rear ends off tonight, fun group to watch.
  14. Wouldn't have missed it.....That is the third GB vs SP semi-final game I have attended, all Cherokee wins!!
  15. Wow!!! What a game!! Congrats to the Cherokees for the win, they could have folded in the third quarter but they kept fighting. SP has a great team and they play very hard and very fast, congrats to them on a great season!! I hope #9 and #55 for SP are Ok. Go get another gold ball, Greenback!!
  16. Congrats to the Rebels....that was a great win!!! Sounds like the Defense played "shut down" football. Glad to hear Tee had a big game.
  17. Good luck to the Rebels!!! I'll be on the south end of the county tonight, but I'll be pulling for the Rebs, it should be a good one. MHS 28 OHS 24
  18. Gentleman, I'm out....glad tomorrow is game day. Best of luck for safe travels to the game and May God watch over and keep the players injury free. This one should be one for the ages!! Go Cherokees, SP has orchestrated their excuse, now make them use it!! GB 35 SP 30
  19. To admit that would not fit into their agenda....they have some great classy fans, but several have had an agenda over the last three months to lay the groundwork (or excuse) in case they lose tomorrow night. With the amount of transfers that SP has gotten over the years, the actions of some have been just downright hypocritical and not a good for such a proud program. Could you imagine the Maryville fans doing what some SP fans have done for three months because Oakland got several transfers? No...they wouldn't do that because they have benefitted from transfers and they understand that players want to play for good programs.
  20. I will definitely be in touch...I have already gave your name to a couple of people. Hope your family has a great Thanksgiving!!
  21. I think the point that 32Hammer was trying to make was that it is much harder for a kid to transfer in to GB than it is a lot of other counties in the state that have open zones. Blount County is open zoned and this includes the city schools of Maryville and Alcoa and families that are willing to pay their tuition can attend those schools if they are accepted regardless of where they live. For a kid to get enrolled at GB, that family has to make a move into Loudon County. And he is 100% correct in that, if Loudon County ever goes to open zoning.....look out, GB could really get a ton of kids. I know for a fact that they had a OL, RB, and DB (two of which will play small college ball) that wanted to attend GB this year but their families did not have the means to move into Loudon County.
  22. Morning to ALL...I hope everyone is set to have a very Happy Thanksgiving!! When we choose to focus on how many blessings we have been given, we all have a lot to be thankful for!! The game: most scenarios have been discussed as to what needs to happen for both teams. From what I have seen, I agree with O&B, GB will have to play their best game of the year to have a shot in this one. I was at the game in SP in 2016 and watched SP jump out to a quick lead, it took some time for GB to get adjusted to their speed. I think GB will have to do the same thing Friday night as SP is by far the fastest team they have seen, GB needs to adjust quickly. SP will send more than GB can block to get pressure on QB, can GB hit some hot routes and make them pay for doing that? If SP can get pressure with their defensive front without having to send LB's, GB is in trouble. GB will stack the box to stop the run, can the SP QB make them pay? Obviously, SP will try to keep 23 from beating them, will the other GB receivers step up and make clutch plays when the ball has to come their way? GB will have to be able to run the football efficiently enough to keep the defense honest. Then the ugly questions for a big game: 1. Which team can settle down and execute their game plan first without letting the emotions of this game to negatively effect their game plan with a bunch of stupid penalties and altercations. 2. and finally, who wins the turnover battle? GB needs to be in the lead heading into the 4th quarter to have a shot as the depth of SP will come into play. I believe this game will be a good one and I hope everyone has safe travels to and from the game and hope the game will be played with sportsmanship by the players and the fans the way it should be.
