  1. CPA just outplayed Goodpaature. They shot really well. They have a good team that works well together. They won this game as well as the first for that very reason. They play with a lot of emotion and work hard. If you can shoot the three every game like you do against GHS, you could go far. I have seen every team play in this district and CPA is the best TEAM in it. Not the most talented, but the best TEAM. That is why they are in first.
  2. bballfan425, if it happened before her fall at half-court, she sure didn't show it. She was running full-speed beside the girl when she went down. I watched the whole game. Everyone at MJ knows me. There is no secret who I am. Come tell me about my big mouth. MJfootball43, what are you doing up in Wisconsin? Going to school or just just changing parents? Hope all is well. Clean-up, clean-up.
  3. Wrong. She went down at the half court line as she ran beside the girl she was guarding. The girl went to pass on the run and Alysha lunged out to deflect the pass and fell awkwardly on her hip. Were you even there? On a rebound? What were you watching?
  4. Hillsboro at Hillwood has been postponed.
  5. The district 11AAA tournament is at Hillwood this year. See ya' there.
  6. I don't want to comment because i might make some people mad who shouldn't be reading this anyways.....but i will. NCS played a pretty good game, minus a few mental errors. They are having to play a couple younger guys, even at key points in the game due to the absence of Anderson so hopefully further adjustments will be made in the player's minds to put it all together and get things back on track. I know they will do it and i think this week will be a good time as NCS hosts East Robertson tuesday and Fairview friday. No need to worry though, I have pull faith my boys will turn it around. !!! MY PREVIOUS PREDICTION ABOUT THE LIPSCOMB GAME WAS NOT SERIOUS !!! Anyways good game to Lipscomb and good job staying in it Eagles. Thats all i have to say.
  7. The twins at Hillsboro as well as Della Harrison play selected freshman games at Hillsboro. Della is David Harrison's (BA and Colorado) sister. Of course, she is zoned for Hillwood and her brother Daniel plays for Hillwood. But that stuff never happens in public school! With all three of them playing, they are the best TEAM in Metro freshmen ball. If the district and city tournaments don't interfere with varsity games, they take it in a walk.
  8. Sorry muffin, I have family there and I know the story. Losing identifies character just as much as winning.
  9. Sounds to me like five players parents need a whipping for allowing their children to become quitters. Oh yeah, if something is not going your way in life, just quit. That will make it go away. Nice life lesson these kids have been taught.
  10. It is I'm sure the Lighthouse Christian in Antioch outside of Nashville. They dropped out of the TSSAA after last year. They were a perennial door mat in 9-A.
  11. Sorry, but Mt. Juliet's boys have lost three games just in district 9AAA. Five overall. Wilson Central has the better combined record. Mt. Juliet's boys have never won a district championship, much less seen the state.
  12. He is all about 6'11" and can spot up for the three. He runs the floor very well and has added much needed strength in the past year. His hearing handicap has not seemed to be a factor. A solid, but not spectacular player. Coach Lebo saw the upside on him and I agree.
  13. There are already regions in football with only five teams in single a so that would not be any different. The TSSAA would fight to the death over losing all their football classifications because they make so much money off the playoffs. 18% of the GROSS proceeds. Why do you think it is so watered down now? Anybody and their grandma can make the state playoffs the way it is now.
  14. I was told the other three starters besides Harris and Orr.
  15. Gomab, Stratford lost a great deal to grades at the break. I heard three starters. Metro's eligibility is by semesters rather than the state mandated season beginning to end.
  16. 6'4" probably 220. Left-handed. Power to spare. All-district last year so he should be familiar to the league. Hit for double figures in every game last year with averages of 16 and 9. Good hops and strong as a bull. If he can stay focused, he will be a hand-full
  17. Brandon Smith is eligible now at East Literature so everyone better step up their inside game.
  18. Hey guys, ever hear of Nera White? The basketball hall of fame has.
  19. Hume Fogg does not have a regulation sized gym in their turn of the century built school building. They have for at least 20 years played at West End Middle School. This year when the School of the Arts moved into the old TPS building, the gym there (which is a pretty nice facility by the way) became available since the School of the Arts does not field a team. Hume Fogg has played there all season. The freshman teams play at the First Baptist Church gym across the street. They used to practice at 6:00 a.m. there so they could get a full court. Think about that when you want to complain about gym time.
  20. Is it team ball when you walk off the floor and take yourself out of the game because you can't get your shots like your used to? Is it team ball to go and sit on the FOURTH ROW of the bleachers with people in the stands after you take yourself out of a nine point lead game? You guys need to crawl out of his butt. It is getting too crowded in there.
  21. COMPLETE control. Unfortunately, in today's society where everyone wants to be in charge (ie. parents and school board members) it rarely happens. It is the only way a program can be successful over time. Basically today it only happens with those programs that WIN constantly. Examples are mostly girls programs at Shelbyville, Jackson County, Clarkrange, Oak Ridge. Coach Pitts had it at Science Hill. Hopefully, Carlton has figured it out and will steer clear at BA. Unfortunately, the professional style of handling things has trickled down to the high school level. Firing the coach is easier than firing all the players who don't work hard or have a crappy attitude or just don't have any talent to speak of. Too bad parents can't be fired for incompetence. Our country could not afford the unemployment that would cause!
  22. The biggest difference is not having Coach Gamble on the bench. Just ask any of the players. They know what is up.
