    5-A FOOTBALL

freshman games, as mentioned earlier, dont have any bearing on games played 3 years later. JPATS5, all that info that you shot out, is just coincidence. freshman football is just to get your feet wet, and that's it. to learn the system and get used to the speed of the game from the middle school level.
  3. usually 1, and he's the holder, usually from farragut. i couldnt resist
  4. i forgot about oak ridge being in region 1. oak ridge will take 1st place in region 1, and move on to the second round. jeff, db, and sevier county will move onto the second round. i see jeff beating db in the quarters and hosting the semi's.
  5. I think we loose sight of that sometimes OSHSman, a good mark for you
  6. it would probably still serve as the men's and womne's basketball facility, indoor track season, and tennis, it also has the weight room and batting cages for baseball and softball, plus classrooms on both sides. i still rent it out for conventions, concerts, and other events that come tot he area. I bet they could make some serious money if they would do something during race week.
  7. to save the football program 31 professors would loose their jobs. the facutly up here is short handed as it is. they would also have to increase tuition by $400 dollars a year, on top of the upcoming 14% increase. I agree w/the previous post, they should schedule more events in the "multi-purpose" mini-dome. i guarantee that there would be plenty of local bands that would love to play in front of an audience, and not to mention some other country stars that are from around the area to bring a concert to johnson city. the mini-dome is getting to be about as worthless as freedom hall.
  8. alcoa didnt change their mind, they have no coaches that can attend spring practice. they are involved in other sports at this time.
  9. Eliminate football, but keep soccer and tennis????
  10. have drew galyon and cole mckinney signed anywhere? with drew's size, strength, and speed he could be a very good strong safety or outside linebacker at the DII or DIII level
  11. 1-5A will sweep the first round
  12. here's the article from the johnson city press. And Lord, there was NO warning. The news got into the wrong hands and they leaked it to the press. http://johnsoncitypress.com/ArticleDetail.asp?Cat=LOCALNEWS&ID=22471 http://johnsoncitypress.com/ArticleDetail.asp?Cat=LOCALNEWS&ID=22460 [Edited by Blue21SallyAt7 on 4-26-03 9:39A]
  13. i dont know much about them athletic wise, this is my first year working w/them. but i do know they are both great kids. trey looks like a player, he'll probably help out alot at corner this fall also.
  14. that's what we have spring practice for, to find good quality players and to build depth. we start spring practice on thursday, you're more than welcome to come. we've got jennings, houston, desmond reliford, carson, hoover, vickers, trey reliford, dallas crouch, and aaron houseal at running backs this spring. it should be interesting to see who wants the job. we will find out on may 1st who wants to play and who wants to sit. let the hitting begin!!
  15. cant tell as of now. we will have to wait till fall practice starts to see how well he adapts to the speed of high school football. it's a totally different level than middle school. if he can adapt, and learn the offense, he may push for some playing time behind Hoover and Carson.
  16. if im not mistaken, Alcoa isnt going to have spring practice. Coach Adams and Coach Talley are coaching baseball and softball, and im not sure if the coaches from the middle school planned on helping or not. Reid has to stay at WB until the end of school also. so as far as i know, they dont have any coaches that can attend spring practice. i may be wrong though
  17. as of when i posted that remark, it was true. strange things happen. the staff at jeff was very shocked and upset when the news rolled in. i havent heard as of now who meadows is looking for to replace chait, but im sure who ever it is will do just fine.
  18. he left jeff a week before spring practice to be the defensive coordinator at mcminn county
  19. it's been awhile since i've heard anything about the illustrious mr collins. i heard he was going to play lacross, swim, join 3 frats and play tennis while taking 18 hours and volunteer 40 hours a week at the local hospital. what an amazing kid
  20. why dont you have the "great and mighty" coach flatt call around to find a game. why should someone have to approach him? im sure hoover,al lousiville male, some teams from memphis, or some other surrounding states would love to play.
  21. none of the assistants at jeff county are leaving, hutchins was and will be the only coach to leave from jeff.
  22. he might put scores on the board, but they wont be from taking handoffs. They'll be from fumble recoveries and interceptions from Safety/OLB
