Steve McNair may step down
footballfanatic replied to ELA's topic in Tennessee Titans & NFL Football
I personally think Steve McNair is one of the best players to ever play in the NFL. But I also think that maybe he should retire. His style of play has caused him to stay injured and is keeping him off the field and I don't believe that he can get through one more whole season with out injuries causing him to miss 4 or 5 games in every season. I think Volek looks like a better NFL starter than half of the starting QB's in the NFL. I think it is time for Volek to be given an opportunity to start. Also, Volek has that pocket type style that will help him to play 6 or 7 more years than McNair. Like I said, I love McNair. But I think that if he sticks around for 2 or 3 more years, he will not stay healthy enough to finish each season, thereby hurting the team more and resulting in mediocre to bad seasons. I think we've seen the best of McNair and he won't reach that level again in his career. McNair is a battered warrior and I think its in his best interest to leave the game or stay as a back-up.(that really sounds crazy, huh?) -
well, its not up to a committee. A players high school coach must nominate him for him to be elegible. Maryville, Melrose, and Riverdale's coaches I am sure just did not nominate their players. Thats why its pointless to even have the Coaches All State team
-
I say they should do away with this coaches all-state team if they can only get a few of the coaches around the state to vote. Its pointless if all the coaches from the top teams don't nominate their top players.

i would think vanderbilt could really use Johnson and Rogers. But if they've been offered a scholarship to UT, how could they turn it down?

Gary Rankin-New Head Man at Cleveland?

Do I know you? you must have an idea of who I am by now, since we frequent the same topics. -
anyone got stats on Micah, and the other top players for coffee co.? spry, marcrom, davidson, webster?
-
thumb I'm on the band wagon, he probably did as good a job with Garcia as anyone else in the country could. Garcia will probably be on an NBA team's starting 5 next year.

I hope they aren't short shorts.

Every Columbia team I have seen has been far more atheletic than any team in District 8. They always seem to have guys on that team that are going off to play college b-ball or even big time football. They get the atheletes in that school to join that basketball team year in and year out. How do they compare with the teams of years past?
-
What positions do these 2 gallatin players play? Can you give some of the vitals?(size, speed, etc...) And Ingham, he has a scholarship offer from UT? please give info on him if you have it.

Please post information on where Mid-state players will be playing college ball. Also, who is getting recruited from where. thanx.

I have heard on many occasions that Dwight Freeney(defensive end for the colts). Can run under 4.5 and is believed to be the fastest of all the defensive linemen. He is around 250 and is considered to be a speed rusher. I think thats about the limit to what a d-lineman can run. Reggie I am sure was fast, but 4.3 is definatley a stretch to me, for one because his body type looks nothing like that of the speed rushers of today like Jevon Kearse, Dwight Freeney, Carlos Hall, and Jason Taylor. I think he was more of a bruiser, but I am sure he had speed because he is probably the greatest d-lineman of all time.

Donte Stallworth did not go to the combines, he worked out on UT's campus for the NFL day when many NFL coaches and scouts came to UT to test only UT players. There he was timed in one 40 yard dash by 5 seperate watches that ranged 4.19-4.29. It was concluded that he ran 4.25 by the scouts who timed him.
-
Sorry, but he did not run a 4.27. Thats rediculous.

Good point, I am impressed thumb -
"LOL" "There you go again!

Well thats good, Coffee has experience with both of those teams. Shelbyville used to be yearly game that usually was very physical. I played them all four years of my career. Coffee scrimmaged Baylor last year and though I realize it was only a scrimmage, the score was very lopsided in Coffee's favor. Looks like next season will be a fun one to watch.

Who will be the team to deal with next year
footballfanatic replied to LEONARDSLOSERS's topic in Football
How is Tyler Kendall's little bro doin down there? Tyler and Rafeal Hill are really good players. They have also done well at Ausitn Peay. -
Coffee's playing Brentwood? If thats true, it'll be neat playing against Ron Crawford. Alot of people don't realize that he was Coffee's head coach once in early 90's.
-
I'd like to see that schedule. Well, I don't like that Coach Price backed out of that at all. To prove that the program is turned around, his non-region games need to be against other quality 5a opponents like Oakland. We used to play em all the time. Even though we got waxed once or twice, we did beat them in '97 though. Why not Coach Price?
-
Wingman, whats this about Coffee Co. denying to play Oakland? You mentioned it before, but thats all I have heard about it. Is that true? And do you know Coffee's schedule for next year?
-
Yes I am. Well, guess the secrets out to anyone who didn't know who I was already. Wingman, I do have one question for you: How am I supposed to post somthing on this particular thread without singling out a player? To me it seems impossible.
-
If some of you were turned off by my name calling, I apologize. But I don't understand why this wingman here started this stuff again over on this board, i just wanted to post about the really good Jr. from Coffee Co., and I get accused of singling out players in Coffee Co.(who apparently doesn't handle that as good as anyone else in the state ???) I get a little fired up when someone trys to throw arguments my way when it is obvious he's just trying to sound good for all you guys who may not have enough info to know who's right or wrong. Again, I don't need therapy... I am doing fine. Thank you for your concern though. and wingman, i do apprectiate that you think i am a good young adult. even if i argue with you all the time and have no idea who you are.

Your a liar and you are incredibly stupid. I don't care what you think about Micah Williams. He is avging about 20 a game and is going to be playing D-1 ball so I think that qualifies him as one of the best juniors in the mid-state. Did the football team get so tired of hearing about one player? Did I really add to all the Jake Nunley hype that it caused problems within the team? What problems to be exact? Or... wait a min. your just maing that up. "lol" good joke. I had a younger sibling on the team and she sure never mentioned a problem nor did any of the f-ball players that I know. you come on here and ridicule me for mentioning who I think is the best junior in the mid-state, but if you look closely, so are many other people. Are they jeopardizing their teams chemistry? And what about all the Dave Thomas posts? did that cause a problem with their team? Oh no! I just realized that there are thousands of posts about single players! All their teams are ruined!!!
