The wr that got ejected three weeks ago was #82 and he has since left the team. Last week against Franklin County #3 was ejected late in the third quarter or in the forth. I don't think it will really matter combined both of them have about 4 catches on the year so not a real loss on offense. #3 started on defense but it isn't like the defense is a stand out. Coffee Co. will have to score 45 points to win this week.

I usually pick against Coffee County just because but even though they struggled mightly last week, I was at least was happy to see that they were getting close to having some of the right guys on the field on defense. If they have improved just a little, I think they will win the shootout. I think both teams are going to score a whole lot of points though. As far as a wide receiver getting thrown out last week it was the week before so he should be back this week.

In District 8-AAA Tullahoma defeated Shelbyville 3-0 and Coffee County defeated Franklin County 2-1. Coffee County plays Tullahoma Thursday at 6 p.m. in Shelbyville. The two teams tied 3-3 in the regular season.

District 8-AAA Coffee Co. 3 Columbia 0 Games continue this week with Tullahoma playing Shelbyville and Coffee County playing Franklin County in Shelbyville.

For the ones that think this is running up the score we like everyone to know that it was the other half of the team playing 70 minutes and starters played 10 minutes. We did everything possible but play short to keep the score down but the girls were hungry, we do apologize for the score to Antioch girls and staff. Keep playing hard ladies. 17-0??? Not running up the score? I don't care if you had your managers in the game playing. There is this thing called not shooting and usually you don't score if you don't shoot. Just an idea. May want to try it next time.

James Pryor had 247 yards rushing tonight against the Raiders and scored four touchdowns. Pretty good night!

Grimes had 191 in the first half against Coffee County then his coach shut him down in the second half. He could have easily had 400 yards if he wanted to and field conditions wasn't great for that game. But Coffee County has allowed a 100-yard rusher in every game this year except for one, their lone win against Cookeville. How ironic?

Franklin County pounded the Raiders 42-21 but lineman Justin Baker for Franklin County was carried off the field on a stretcher late in the game. Thoughts and prayers go out to Baker. [Edited by Rukidnme on 10-4-02 11:57P]

Micah Williams at Coffee County is a stud freshmen. Last year was MVP for team USA in 14-under tournament in Switzerland. Only problem is that he has been ruled ineligible b/c he transferred from city schools to county schools but he actually lives in the county which confuses me. He was paying tuition to go to the city. TSSAA sets a double standard.

I don't know about Rowsey but I believe Benjamin is narrowing her choices down. Could be Kentucky, Miss. St., Auburn, or Ohio St. with Coach Foster. Who knows? -
Jamie Norris is the best athlete and best football player on the Red Raider team this year. I am not sure about the number of tackles but I can validate he had a bunch and yes, every play seemed to have him around the ball somewhere both on offense and defense.

It's hard to keep stats in the rain as well. It's also hard to watch a team fumble eight times in the rain. But I see bring on the rain but the lightning can stay away. It is all fun and games till someone gets that one final bolt!
-
Rain is in the forecast which equals problems for the spread offense. The Raiders, who have battled the fumble bug all year anyway, turned the ball over four times in the monsoon last week. Another monsoon this week could stifle the offense once again. Let's just hope they can get the snap better than the Vols. (Still wondering what happened to the sugarcoated quarterback Casey Clausen)????

I will go with Science Hill for obvious reasons, Oakland because they were strong at the Willmore and Tullahoma, who shot -1 as a team at Horton in the district, not a bad score. But as we all know golf is a funny game and all it takes is one good day and you never know. [Edited by Rukidnme on 9-24-02 11:06P]

Tullahoma and Coffee Co. battled to a 3-3 tie. Coffee County had two goals by Kimberly Thorington and one by Kelsey Benedict. Tullahoma had a goal from Bre Davis and two goals from Ann Shelton. Shelton tied the game up in extra minutes for Tullahoma.

How do you get to Cumberland County's football field from Manchester. And Cumberland Co. is 3-0 with two wins over some small schools and a 35-14 win over Franklin Co.
-
TDH, you are very confident. Do you know something that everyone else doesn't know? I just don't understand how you can be so confident. I think it will be a good game and either team can win. I don't expect the Raiders to come out and dominate as you think. They may have a lot of weapons but so far this year many of those weapons have "backfired."

This is a huge game for both teams almost guaranteeing no worse than third in the region and putting either team in the driver seat. For Coffee to win, yes they have to pass but they need to run the ball. It isn't ironic that in their win over Cookeville Taurean Green had 163 yards rushing. If they get in the situation where it is a known fact that they are going to have to pass every down, it could be a long game as the Jets will just pin their ears back and come after Clark. Ostrander is a big, strong back for Cumberland Co. and big, strong backs have given Coffee trouble so far this year. Garmany was a big, strong back in the Rhea Co. game that rushed over 100 yards and Eggleston last week for Tullahoma is a big, strong back that had close to 100 on 10 carries. They stopped the Cavalier running game, but they were just big backs that were predictable. But GO RAIDERS and hold on to the ball either catching it or once you get it!!!!!

1.Lincoln County 2.Cumberland County 3.Coffee County 4.Franklin County 5.Cookeville 6.Warren County Just a guess and nothing more.

I have Adam's stats as 23-44 for 268 yards with 2 TD's and 2 INT's on the season. He completed his first 10 passes of the season and hasn't been helped with dropped balls this year either. But his receivers are mostly juniors with the exception of his main man Jamie Norris.

Ok I have read this entire thread and I want to address some of the issues. First, the feeder system will be fixed next year or at least half of it will be. I will almost guarantee everyone that all ninth graders at Westwood will be at the high school next year and I hope they go ahead and do it for all sports. Second, the program is on the rise with the most players ever for Coffee County on the team this year. Why is the question? Because Coach Breeden and his staff are excellent recruiters within the school. But now for my prediction...I hope Coffee County wins and this game is always close but I think Tullahoma's defense is just real good. But I will say whoever has the fewest turnovers will win by a touchdown.

Coffee County beat Shelbyville 6-0. Freshmen Kelsey Benedict scored two and freshman Brandi Besheres scored. Kimberly Thorington scored. Christina Webb scored two goals.

The only problem that I have is that there is a different set of rules for coaches and teachers. My question is what happens if an English teacher just can't get her students to be quiet and suddenly has an epiphany and tries to throw a stapler at the wall to get them to be quiet. But "holds on to it too long" and hits the guy in the back row sending him to the hospital for 10 stitches. For all of you trying to figure out what would happen let me share with you. First, there would be a huge lawsuit because that is what people do these days and second, that teacher would never teach again. But being this is a coach, let me slap you on the wrist and tell you not to do it again or at least not let it hit anyone next time. This is what I have a problem with. Teachers and coaches are all under the same school system and all should have to follow the same guidelines. -
Adarius Bowman is the best but I am surprised no one has mentioned Taron Henry from Riverdale.
