You are correct HardKnocks, ijust overlooked Corey. He is a real intense defensive standout for Greeneville. They really showed some things tonight against Elizabethton. The first 3 passes that Betsy's QB threw were picked off.The defense had 5 take-aways tonight in a 43-14 victory

Greeneville has some talent that is just about ready to really take off. Greenway, Gash, Lollar, Leeper, Washington, Liebers pick your weapon on offense. Then when the defense is on the field, Day, Richey, Click, Davis, all can hold their own. Coach Zeller and his staff always has them ready to play. Good luck to the Greene Devils this year and keep it up.

Greeneville finished at 20-7 overall and 8-2 in their conference.

Jefferson COunty @ Greeneville was rained out today. It will be made up Thursday.

All games in the Unicoi County Tournament were cancelled for today. All games are to be pushed up one day. Friday was a scheduled rain date. Things get real complicated if rain hits again tomorrow, which it is suppposed to.

Morritown West @ Greeneville

The greeneville vs Cherokee game from 3/17 was called in the top of the 5th inning due to continuous rain with Greeneville leading 6-1. The game will have to be started all over, even though they were only 3 outs away from a legal game.

Greeneville @ Crockett was washed out today. Rescheduled to play Saturday @ 1:00

Kingsport plays Cherokee, which will be a cake walk. Science Hill plays Morristown East, which will be another cake walk. Greeneville will play the Sullivan South/TN High loser, while Cocke County will play the Sullivan South/TN High winner. This should be an interesting tournament. Kingsport should have an easy trip to the regional finals, which means an automatic sub-state birth. The other bracket should be very interesting. Science Hill has beaten Greeneville 3 times this year by a total of no more than 10 points. This makes the other sub-state birth very interesting.

Does anyone have any information on the TN High vs. Science Hill game from tonight? Looks as if it were a run and shoot game. Does this victory favor Daniel Boone to win the championship or does it give the momentum to the Vikings?

I agree that this game was overshadowed by some behavior that I really do not agree with, but why was the "mature?" girl that had the sign taken away from her running up and down the sideline in front of some greeneville fans? This was a great contest between 2 teams that really played hard. Let's let the kids play and keep the emotions where they belong.

What's wrong with Frazier? Is it something that they will have to do without her for a long period?

Does anyone know if Broyhill is healthy enough to play this Thursday night against Morristown West? I know that she had been hurt, but could not find anything else out.

The Chuckey Doak game has been canceled and will not be nade up. The Cherokee game will be made up at Greeneville on Feb. 12.

Greeneville's Games that were postponed ae reschedulaed as follows: Chuckey Doak for Jan. 27 Jefferson COunty for Feb. 4 Dobbyns Bennett for Feb. 5

They defeated West Greene rather soundly in their opening round. I'm not sure what the score ended up being, but they were never challenged. They play West Lauderdale of Mississippi, who defeated Greeneville 49-48. The are very physical and like to run. Should be very intersting, because they enter the game at 16-0.

For a team camp, you can't beat MTSU. The competition is always good down there.

Greeneville is now 7-0, because they did not count the HOF games. As for the stats, they did not count either. Some people say that they don't count if you lose, but do if you win.They decided before the games were even played not to count them, even if they won. I mean, playing Oak Ridge on opening night should be a very good learning experience.

Greeneville High School Lady Greene Devils played the Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats Tuesday night in a HOF game at Oak Ridge. It seemed to be a great game played by both teams. Ths final score was OR 51 GHS 38. The game was very well played by both teams and I expect these two to be at the top of their games when they possibly could meet again.

I haven't seen many high school quarterbacks this year, but I feel very confident that one of the top 5 is Greeneville's Cody Baugh. He has thrown for well over 200 yards in 8 games this year and has only thrown 7 interceptions. His offense around him is really being supportive.

I'm not sure what people in Morristown call class, but let me bring out a few things that really , in my opinion, doesn't show any at all: 1) A sportswriter who uses an opposing player's name as the headlines in a negative way "Baugh" Huumbug. This seems to be really downgrading the best quarterback in the 5 rivers conference, who certainly doesn't wear crimson and white, when both teams really played their hearts out. 2) How about a coach that calls up on the day of a B-team game and cancels due to lack of players. I believe that there were somewhere around 90 plyers in crimson the other night, and I'm sure that they all did not get to play. Oh, by the way, this is the 2nd year in a row that he (Woods) has cancelled. If I were a player that had put in all of that hard work, just as the straters do, I'm sure that I would not appreciate my b-team games being called due to lack of players. 3) Justin, I'm not sure where you get off saying that all Greeneville sports teams have no class. Do you have any proof to back up this statement, because I have been associated with the greene Devil athletic program for over 10 years now, and even though I don't agree with everything that our students do, I have had some other fans personally tell me thanks for the way that our kids act. We as parents, administrators, spectators, and media, sometime try to really put the blame off on the kids, when sometimes, we need to look at who's really doing the talking. Great game on both teams behalf and I really hope that we meet other again in 5 weeks for a chance to play in the state semis, because I really feel that it will be another great one.

I think that Mike Zeller, from greeneville, should be considered. Since coming to Greeneville 3 years ago, the devils seem to be playing with alot of confidence. Also with a change in coordinators, Zeller going to defense and Ballard taking over the offense, the devils are doubly threatening.

Greeneville enters next weeks game against DB averaging 51 points a game and only giving up 9. DB enters the game at 2-1 and Greeneville 2-0. This should be a classic game of 2 powerhouses. One that is a true 5A school againt a 3A school that is playing 4A. Good luck Greene Devils
