  1. You do realize that Maryville had three or four turnovers in that game. One was inside the 5 yard line as it looked he would score.
  2. Exactly, and who cares if we can beat a team from Alabama or South Carolina.... High School Football should be about local community rivialies. If you want interstate rivialies, watch college.
  3. Way to go Red Rebels........Congratulations to the 6A State Champions
  4. WaCo you crack me up, but Cookeville is missssspelled also:-). I think it was Andrew Jackson who say that it is a poor mind indeed that can't think of at least two ways to spell any word. Thee pole is steel 100% Corrrect.
  5. They mean nothing.....ths team is zero/zero, no wins/ no championships.
  6. If you walk by Maryville's trophy case and look at all those gold balls you will notice none are for winning a single regular season game....Respect comes with titles.
  7. Is there any need for this Does this reflect positively on Maryville's program....NOT COACHT PLEASE DELETE THIS POST!!!! Congratulations to My Rebels
  8. Its not a coon its a Raccoon and I think you are the one with the problem. Like I said Take no offense where none is intended. Its fun, they're teenagers, why does it have to make sense.
  9. Do not take offense where none was intended. Its a Raccoon thats it. Why a Raccoon, I do not know, but whats the harm, the students can hardly do anything at the games anymore. Let them have some fun and do not read anything else into it.
  10. I am glad to see the new facility, it is long overdue. On the program: Do the departing seniors, past players, feel they had a great time on the team. Is there a sense of fairness that promotes competition. It should be a blast to be on a High School Baseball Team. It was one of the best times of my life. How are the coaches relationship with their players, and each other. If you want to compare to the football team...compare that.
  11. Ump that would not brush off the plate: One Fan, Hey blue brush off the plate. Second Fan, He doesn't need to brush it off.....HE CAN SEE IT IN HIS SLEEP. Players that yell just as the ball that their pitcher has thrown reaches the plate. Players that bang on the fence infront of the dug out.
  12. Get mean weiner dog and have it attack him from about 80 ft.... accuracy and arm speed should improve. If not, foot speed and jumping ability will. OK.... a fake mean weiner dog pulled by a rope or something
  13. Not trying to correct you Stars. Just want to give my boys some credit. USC - Cade USC - Ryan Jenkins - Soccer Marshall - Scott Wilks Auburn - Carl TTech - Colton Baker, Brandon Waters, Jeffery Smith CNewman - Alex Rouse, Steven Childs APSU - Andrew Clement, (had divII&IIIoffers in football) - Baseball MState - Rhett Brooks I understand that Drew Gaylon is walking on at UT in the Fall I also understand that Brad Merrit has walked on and made the UT baseball team, but this is unconfirmed with me. If Brad is correct that would be 6, Cade,Ryan,Brad, Andrew, Carl,Scott at the Div. 1A level, 7 if Drew makes it at UT, 4 at the Div. 1AA. PRETTY STRONG for a program who never has any athletes only good coaching. I am pretty sure that Matt Gardner is playing at Centre, correct if I am Wrong, and I think we have a kicker playing soccer at Memphis??? Someone add if missed any......
  14. Yikes!!!! you caught us, please don't throw us in the briar bush, Mr Ship. Maybe TSSAA will increase it to 32 divisions by 09 so that everyone that makes the playoffs can be state champ or runner-up
  15. Hmmm.....I think Knox West, Powell, White County, and Knox Central could all run the ball with power. They all have huge fullbacks especially Powell and White County. The last time Maryville came to MoWest was 2004 and we soundly beat you. But we still remember that 2003 game. Yep we remember!
  16. This is taking on mythical proportions. #8 start for UT...seriously now, on second thought maybe he could, but then again who couldn't. If our QB has a normal day and we do a little better job on the blitz we school them. Seriously, they were good on he run. what routes did they cover well, if they could not jam the receiver at the line? Sideline and slants: Jenkins and Clement were open. Middle: Clement was open..just keep the ball down and its TD. Childs beat them all day on the corners...# 8 interception was on an underthrown ball.. Childs has them beat for Six. Second half.....we ran the football because they could not stop us. I would take the 98, 2001-2 secondary's from Maryville anyday over this years Melrose's. Their biggest hits were the two hits on strung out receivers and on special teams. Ever watch Tanner Caylor and company on our special teams. Maryville is better all the way around.

Give it a rest would ya. sorry that your son did not make the team, but bashing the program all the time on this board makes no sense. next year...I think it will be an interesting year. I completely agree about clem even at mid point in the year he could blow it by batters but he had to pitch so much because of the problems with parker and bott....He did not have the same pop later in the year. I think it affected him at the plate also. I wondered if his arm was bothering him. Shawn will be tough next year.
  18. I have seen the other extreme too. We have had this debate on what is an error/hit in the stands also, not in any attempt to alter an at bat, my view has always been to give the batter the benefit if the infielder has to give extraordinary effort to make a play. Our book keeper has not given hits to batters that killed balls that just ate an infielder up. She has listed hard hit balls stabbed at and deflected by the third baseman as errors. Plays in the hole that did not result in a put out at first as errors. THe other night we played Faragut at Faragut...A Faragut batter hit a hard ball between second and first. the ball was hard hit and just out of reach of the first baseman. The second baseman got to the ball..gloved it and then lost it, but could not come up with the ball to make the play at first. They gave the second basemen an error. It my book that is a hit. The second baseman is very good, most players would not have gotten to the ball. He had just made an error on a not quite routine play....I wondered if that influenced the call. Anyway I think that ordinary effort is just that.
  19. I do not believe for a minute that these are Maryville Fans. Besides we only care about the Central Game, nothing else. Seniors Last Home Game....You’re Champions…Lets Roll...GO REBELS
  20. Good Grief .... Who cares what anyone says on these message boards abound Maryville. The only team any one from Maryville should be concerned about is Rhea County...they are THE ONLY team that can knock us out of the play-offs. Other than that .... I've got no time for ya. Oh yea ... Top Ten 1 Maryville 2 biased opinion 3 slanted suggestion 4 hairy knuckled jealousy jargon 5 Wannabe wrathful ranting 6 If and buts = Candy and nuts rhetoric 7 swag and slobber 8 inflated opinion instigator 9 mindless motor mouth 10 Watched Maryville one time know it all askey dunkirk. Finally ... Peace Out
  21. What about rainouts or considerstion for those still in the state tourn? I have not checked weather today, but yesterday it looked like rain for Saturday.
  22. Lets give some 1st year starters some recognition. Maryville: Alex Rouse - Junior - Outstanding Outfielder Jason Bott - Junior/pitcher - Great season, great vs Faragut David Parker - Junior/Pitcher - Better as season goes on. Andrew Clement - Soph/ 3B - Outstanding infielder
  23. BaseBall?????.....kyle WHO????.....quit FOOTBALL to play baseballlll????, and you dare compare this,(holding my nose), BASEBALL guy to the great MATT KYLE!!!! I am feeling faint...someone pass the Grey Poupon!!!
  24. He is also a great baseball player!!! He once turned a triple play unassisted. 38" vertical...Ha....He can jump higher than that.
  25. From 75 North: The Lenoir City exit is 81, take a right and go east for about 20 miles. Like MHS said, goes through Lenoir City, over Fort Loudon Dam to Blount County. Once in Blount County, William Blount Drive is a mile or two on your right, if you get to the Maryville water tower you have gone too far. Thanks for the positive comments about THE RED REBELS and enjoy your time in beautiful Blount County GO REBS
