  1. All of those teams are really good, but David Lipscomb not having to rely on their number one pitcher? How good would they be without Megan?
  2. fanniemaye: Jennifer Fine as the best coach? haha are you joking or being serious??
  3. uhh, yeah. i play for brentwood. no need to trash talk.
  4. haha i thought that was funny cornpup!
  5. haha thank you.....but who are you??
  6. Yeah, we (brentwood) played them a couple times last year and it wasnt an easy win at all. They will definately be a team to watch out for this year. They have pretty much all their players back i think which bring them good defense, batting, and pitching.
  7. I would just like to thank everyone who stood up for me...it meant a lot. and Im not going to take the negative comments as a cut-down, im just going to take it as more of a reason to work harder. I love all you guys so much, and thanks again, Allie-
  8. Ok, well i respect yalls opinion of me and not thinking im that good and stuff...and i know im not a megan rhodes or a sara meek, but ill do the best i can to help my team out this year. and of course i cant carry a team by myself. sara meek didnt win the games all by herself. yeah she definatley had a huge impact, but she didnt score all the runs and make all the defensive plays by herself. last time i checked this is a team sport and i think as a team, Brentwood will do good this year!
  9. FHSRebel, to me, it looks like the officials are calling techs, no more than ususal though. And everytime they do it, someone gets upset. Most of the time they are upset before the call. I guess since it is in the rule book when ussporting fouls occur, they are to be called just like walking. I guess some people want a "NO CALL" when a player or coach gets upset, but it is in the rules. I think I heard that if the officials didn't call the techs when deserved, they would have games taken away from them. With the tapes that all the schools video of the games, the coaches are always sending in tapes. So if they let them go, they get in trouble instead of the teams. Who knows, maybe they got the call right, sometimes the other team thought so
  10. I assume you go to FHS, tell us about what's coming up?
  11. First of all, from his experience, Coach Breeden has put up big numbers for his softball team. However, he is also a football coach. He may have to decide what he wants to do to be happy just like the players have to make decisions. As far as upping the money for him to coach softball & football, I doubt he will get any more money outside of what the coaching supplement is for coaching softball. In most schools, softball does not pay for itself & I doubt any program is going to pay big bucks to bring a softball coach to their program. If he want to coach football, I'm sure he will find a job. If he wants to coach softball, I'm sure he will find a job because most school system don't have qualified coaches to coach the sport. But to be able to ask big bucks because he can coach both, Coffee County may be the most logical choice unless he wants to leave the area. (in the State of Tenn) If he goes to another state, the story may be different. Good Luck Coach!
  12. STD - Michelle Tyree has been successful at Georgia. She was heavily recruited by Tennessee & S Carolina & took a full scholarship to Georgia where she has started for 3 years at shortstop & is in her senior year this year. She has broken several records for games, seasons & lifetime at Georgia & has helped bring that program up & played in NCAA college world series last year. The Eagles were very impressive & won championships all over the country from S Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Colorado, Arizona & the ASA Nationals which were played in California. Every player on that team was offered a college scholarship & was coached by one of the top coaches in this area, Don Lockridge. The Blues this year was the first team from Tennessee to finish in the top 10 at the 18-U Nationals since that Eagles team & could return every player off that team that went to the Nationals. They have alot of tradition & over the years, they have placed in the top 10, five times at National tournaments. There are alot of good teams that play in the Middle Tennessee Area & that is starting to show in high school play with a bunch of good talent still coming up. Congratulations to the 16U Eagles that won their championships last summer & any other team that has won championship. We should support all the teams on this board at any level & hope they will improve the talent at that level.
  13. I will repeat message from other thread For you that think they are above the law & think there has to believe & contradict every rule, grow up. Every rule out there is for a reason. Usually, because someone abuses the rules. Don't get on those that enforce the rules, if you have a problem, be mature & pay a phone bill to those that make the rules & fight for why you believe the way you do. Why are uniforms suppose to be worn correctly. Because the National Federation has seen a trend across the nation where this is being abused. This is not street ball, you don't have to pull your pants up & tuck your shirts in. Go play in the back yards all you want & no one is going to tell you to dress properly. Don't say your shirt keeps falling out when you haven't pulled your drawstring, just like your pants fall down below your waist at school because you aren't wearing a belt & your shorts are 2 sizes to big. Why are school boards addressing this same issue in school, because people want to be individuals & not play by the rules. Most of the people on this board & in the gyms that complain about the noisemakers are football fans or players & can't seem to understand the difference between football & basketball. You can do some things in football & not basketball. You can tackle in football but if you do it in basketball you get thrown out of the game. The coaches yell at officials in football but if you do it in basketball, you get a tech foul. If you use a noise maker in football, it's ok, but if you continue to do it in basketball, you will be asked to stop or suffer the consequence. What's the difference? It's a different game that has different rules. WHY? Basketball is game that involves timing & sounds effect calls & the way players play. If the noise is allowed throughout the game & the horn goes off but never heard, you will be the one that complains that the shot should have counted or not. If a player is dribbling down the court & stops because of a noisemaker, you will be the one that complains when the player is called for traveling or not. Why do you really think if you pay your way in you aught to be able to say, do, wear anything you want? You are only thinking about yourself & you can go outside the gym, at no cost, & screem, hollor, use your noise maker anyway you want. Can you tell WHY are you wanting to use a noise maker in the first place? To distract a player when he is shooting a foul shot, etc.? Where do you draw the line? Society has rules & there are those that think those rules are silly. If you break those rules in society, you pay the consequences, maybe in jail. So everyone has rules with different penalities, & that is part of growing up & respecting others & their rules. If you can't accept those rules, take your game somewhere else, I'm sure you will find something else to complain about.
